Man due in court after slurry spread before first Ballymena Pride parade

In truth, long before this ‘slurry spreading’, ill-advised or otherwise, sodomites and their perverted allies have contaminated the streets of many towns and cities by their brazen parading of their evil and abominable (Leviticus 18:22) unnatural and abhorrent lifestyle!

(For those from far away lands, “slurry” is “liquid farm manure”.)

These two chapters are very relevant for Christians today, for they refer to many of the things that will take place in the lasts days of this age. Yes, the visions of Daniel recorded here begin with references to times, many centuries ago, but they also deal with the last event of this age and the first of the new age, the Millennial Age!

“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed,” Daniel 7:13-14.

I might suggest that the words of the Saviour in Matthew 24 imply that He expects His people to be familiar with the prophecies of Daniel.

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” Matthew 24:15.

It is very evident that prophecy was given to us as a means of warning and instruction, especially for the latter days. How we should study the prophecies of the last times as those times dawn upon us!

Please consider then:—

THE LORD WOULD HAVE YOU UNDERSTAND PROPHECY.

I have stated this many times before in articles and sermons but it needs to be repeated again and again in the face of the devil’s lie, so often taken up by foolish preachers, that ‘prophecy is hard to understand and best avoided’!

1. But that the Lord would have us understand prophecy is made very clear in these chapters.

“In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters,” Daniel 7:1.“In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first,” Daniel 8:1.

“I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things,” Daniel 7:16. Click to read more…

For quite a few years now, I have been greatly helped in the maintaining of the ‘Burning Bush’ website by a brother in the the United States, John Pittman Hey of Greenwood, Mississippi. He first contacted me after he had come across our website and finding himself in agreement with its theme of protest against the apostasy of today. He is an expert in matters related to the internet etc and I know that our website has greatly benefitted from his unstinting help, literally day and night!

I have never met our brother and it is likely I never will until we meet in glory, but he is a beloved brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord.

The wider Foster family, both here and in Canada, wish to offer their sincere condolences at this time of grief but rejoice with him that his dear mother is “Absent from the body . . , to be present with the Lord,” 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Nora Cornelia Lyons Hey, age 87, died at her home in Greenwood, Mississippi, Monday, June 23, 2025.

She was born in Bean City, Florida, in 1937 to Leslie Arthur Lyons and Elizabeth Pittman Lyons. Her family soon moved to Baker County near the Georgia border. After her father’s untimely death when she was eleven years old, Nora was raised by her mother and her beloved Uncle Guy Pittman. She came to trust in her Savior, Jesus Christ, when she was twelve years old.

Nora came to Mississippi to attend Mississippi College, where she graduated in 1959 with honors in Special Distinction, 14th out of 324 graduates, with a BA in Modern Languages (French and Spanish). There she met her future husband, John Phenis Hey III, as lab partners in Chemistry class. In 1960 after graduation, she taught Spanish at Murrah High School and married John. She lived in Jackson, MS with her first two sons, John Pittman and David, while her husband, a physician who had been drafted into the Vietnam War, commanded an Army medical dispensary in Vietnam in 1966.

After John returned from Vietnam, the family moved to Greenwood in 1967, where Dr. Hey set up his medical practice on River Road. Nora pursued further studies at Delta State University in language education and taught Latin at Greenwood Christian School for many years. She considered her primary vocation, however, to be a homemaker and wife.

Nora and John raised four children: John Pittman Hey of Greenwood, David Lyons Hey (Ellen) of Carroll County, Sarah Virginia Hey of Greenville, SC, and Daniel Spurgeon Hey (Helen) of Black Mountain, NC.

She also had five grandchildren, David Hey Jr. (Summer), Joseph Martin Hey, Elizabeth Hey Crenshaw (Grant), Samuel Hey (Eva), and Margaret Murphey Hey, along with eight great grandchildren.

Nora deeply loved her husband, her children, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by several cousins who live in Florida.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Greenwood.

The family would like to thank Veronica Banks for her years of faithful help and love for Nora. We also thank the staff of VitalCaring Hospice for their kindness, as well as Charlie Mae Carradine, Latoya Franklin, Zuri Medellin, Angela Streeter, and Cassandra Streeter for their assistance in caring for Nora during her final months.

There will be a graveside service in the Charleston City Cemetery on Friday, June 27th, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be sent in support of the Christian Medical and Dental Association or American Legion Post 29 of Greenwood, MS.

Letter: Double standards of Alliance Party on harming of children

Naomi Long’s justice department has launched a consultation to “increase the existing maximum sentences for the offence of causing or allowing a child or vulnerable adult to die or suffer serious physical harm”.

Meanwhile, the only MP in her party, Sorcha Eastwood, has supported completely decriminalising the killing of unborn children right up to the moment of birth.

Double standards or what?

The following letter was sent to the Editor of the ’Belfast Newsletter’ on 21st June at the suggestion of one of our readers, after they read the ‘Burning Bush’ article:—

One vital matter absent from the ‘assisted dying’ debate!

It has not yet appeared in the ‘letter’ columns of that newspaper BUT perhaps it will yet!

If it doesn’t, it is sad that a newspaper which seems to take a stand for at least some of the standards that have their basis in the Bible, should choose to ignore a letter highlighting the dismissal, by nearly all public representatives, of a cardinal doctrine of the gospel – the doctrine of eternal punishment of the unsaved – and thus join the ranks of those, who during the ‘Assisted Dying’ debate, choose to ignore this most vital gospel truth.

ONE VITAL SUBJECT MATTER WAS ABSENT FROM THE ‘ASSISTED DYING’ DEBATE’!

In any report of the debate that I have seen, I did not read of anyone mentioning the most vital of all factors as the matter was debated in Parliament!

Where is the one, ‘assisted’ in the ending of their life, going to?

It is not a feature of modern religion to preach that there is a HELL awaiting those who die without personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Saviour stated this matter most plainly.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him,” John 3:36.

To take one’s own life, whether it be legalised to do so or not, is very much contrary to God’s Law. There is a penalty for defying and disobeying the Word of God. Judas, the most infamous of suicides, undoubtedly went immediately to a lost eternity. Of him Christ said: “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled,” John 17:12.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels,” Mark 8:36-38.

Were people aware of the reality, the most terrible reality of hell, they would not use the time that remains to them to murder themselves, but rather, like the thief on the cross, seek pardon and saving mercy from the Saviour.

“And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise,” Luke 23:39-43.

That man’s last minute repentance resulted in him dying with the assuring words of Christ echoing in his ears! “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

Gone are the days of men like the Reformer and Martyr, Hugh Latimer. He preached before Henry VIII and strongly condemned his sins. The sermon displeased his majesty and he was therefore commanded to preach again on the next Sabbath, and to make an apology for the offence he had given. He did preach again but made no apology, rather he was even stronger in his condemnation of the royal sins!

Those legislators who have ignored and disregarded the Law of God and legalised ‘self murder’, will face a terrible harvest under God’s wrath. They will also have to endure the eternal curses of those they persuaded to take their own lives, only for them to discover for ever and ever the dreadful folly they have committed.

Vladimir Putin has been spouting again!

Putin in chilling WW3 warning as he names the one thing that would trigger war with NATO

As one who is standing afar off and simply making the best judgment that common sense can arrive at, and considering this threat from the man whose army has suffered most severely at the hands of the much smaller neighbour, Ukraine, which he chose to unlawfully invade, I doubt if Putin’s Russia has the capability to tackle the armies of NATO!

A recent news report in the British daily newspaper, ‘The Express’, describes mass desertions by Russian troops, the shooting of officers who are trying to get them to attack Ukrainian formations, the very formations which have very successfully repelled such attacks, at a great cost to the attacking Russians.

Scepticism

One must read such reports with ‘a pinch of salt’ for propaganda in wartime is rife. However, I would be inclined to believe that there are substantial elements of truth in such reports. It is not the first time such accounts of trouble in ‘Russian ranks’ have been published by a number of news outlets.

Furthermore, surely even Putin is aware that attacks always bring responses! He ought to have learned that from his ‘expedition’ into Ukraine! Click to read more…

A Bible in one hand and a bomb in the other, unrepentant Provo priest Fr Paddy Ryan died with blood on his hands

It is not often I find myself in agreement with the ‘Belfast Telegraph’! I am most certainly in agreement with this headline.

I would add the words ‘and went to hell’ after the word ‘died’!

Evil and all as this man was generally perceived to be, that view did not impact upon the Roman Catholic priests who officiated at this funeral!

I would encourage readers to have a listen to a sermon I preached in 1987, exposing the same spirit as that manifested at the funeral of Paddy Ryan.

This was the headline in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ of June 18th.

Provo priest Paddy Ryan hailed as ‘servant of God’ at funeral after death aged 95

The headline highlights how that Romanism has not changed and in truth saw no evil in the activities of the IRA and their agents such as Ryan!

Pope John Paul II, on a visit to Ireland back in 1979, said: ‘Murder is murder is murder’.

As all popes before him he was a lying hypocrite and the burying of Paddy Ryan underscores that. There were no ‘specifics’ in the Pope’s 1979 statement. It was the media pundits who told the world that he was speaking to the IRA!

If he was, and I don’t believe he was, it did not reach the ears of the priests at Paddy Ryan’s funeral.

The ‘Belfast Newsletter’ report said:

‘Patrick ‘Paddy’ Ryan has died in Dublin aged 95. His funeral was held at 11.30am today in The Church of Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Rossmore, Co Tipperary, overseen by four clerics.

Latest – MPs narrowly back legalising assisted dying in England and Wales by 23 votes

Also a Free Presbyterian Church statement – THE PINCER MOVEMENT AGAINST HUMAN LIFE

While MPs have voted in favour of the ‘ASSISTED DYING’ bill, it will still have to pass the House of Lords before it can become law.

Heed Christ’s Word

“Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me,” Luke 10:13-16.

The Psalmist is correct: “Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful,” Psalm 116:5.

One famous individual whose name we will omit, issued the following statement after the vote: ‘Your courage and compassion, reliving painful memories from your own lives, and battling to protect others from experiencing the same agony, have helped bring about this hugely important change in the law. Congratulations and well done. Your brave voices have been heard at last.’

It is heart-breaking to see the  illusory hope of escaping pain when, in truth, they are but ushering themselves into the eternal pain of everlasting damnation!

Those legislators who have ignored and disregarded the Law of God and legalised ‘self murder’, will face a terrible harvest under God’s wrath.

They will also have to endure the eternal curses of those they persuaded to take their own lives, only to discover for ever and ever the dreadful folly they have committed, even as it is prophesied of the Antichrist’s reception in hell!

Nothing indicates the morality of the majority of the members of the Westminster Parliament in 2025 more clearly than the BBC headline of June 17th :—

MPs vote to decriminalise abortion for women in England and Wales

‘Precious Life’, the largest pro-life group in Northern Ireland, in response to this decision, ran the headline:

Precious Life Condemns MPs Who Backed Extreme Abortion Law: “Unfit for Office”

Their report stated:

‘Precious Life has condemned the 379MPs who voted (17 June) in favour of an extreme amendment (NC1) to decriminalise abortion through the Crime and Policing Bill —calling their actions shameful and insisting they are not fit to hold public office.

This vote is a disgrace. These MPs have turned their backs on the most vulnerable members of our society — our unborn children. They must resign!

This barbaric legislation will allow the killing of babies in the womb who are older than 24 weeks, by “Do-It-Yourself” abortions, for any reason, right up to the moment of birth. Click to read more…

While totally abhorring the actions and words of the group picture below, and their followers and supporters, one cannot but feel distress for them in the light of God’s Holy Word which they so blithely and blatantly defy!

The ‘smug smiles’ will fade one day when they face the Holy God Whose law they despise!

God’s Law states very plainly: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination,” Leviticus 18:22.

Furthermore, it reveals the consequences for those who defy this law.

Hear and heed the words of the Saviour:

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed,” Luke 17:28-30.

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)” 2 Peter 2:4-8.

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire,” Jude 1:6-7. Yesterday we had a memorable day in Gilford Free Presbyterian Church.

I was given a most warn welcome by the minster, Rev Gregory McCammon, with whom we first had fellowship many years ago when he laboured in Scotland, and also by his people.

In the morning I preached on the subject: ‘THE IDEAL HOME IN WHICH TO RAISE CHILDREN!’, from Deuteronomy 11:18-20.

“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us,” Isaiah 30:9-11.

The new moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, Dr Trevor Gribben, was reported on 9th June in the ‘Belfast Newsletter, as taking as his theme, “inspiration from the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah.”

He says of Jeremiah that he “gave a message of hope to God’s people, Israel – despite the fact that they have been taken captive to the “strange” land of Babylon.”

He noted the “prophet Jeremiah told Israel in exile” — he then quoted from what I presume was a perverted translation of the Scriptures: “For I know the plans I have for you . . . plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

The proper translation of the portion he refers is found thus in the Authorised Version of the Holy Scriptures: “For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart,” Jeremiah 29:10-13.

I have labelled Dr Gribben as a ‘shallow evangelical’ and that for a number of good reasons.

First of all, like those before him who feel it necessary to conform to those who wish to ‘modernise’ the message of God, irrespective of the integrity of the translation, he adopts one of the modern versions, which as the Trinitarian Bible Society has repeatedly shown, do not compare with the Authorised Version for accuracy of translation from the Hebrew and Greek of the originals or for beauty and elegance of style of the English language at its purest.

Furthermore, he says, “the prophet Jeremiah told Israel in exile”. In this he shows his shallow knowledge of Holy Scripture. Click to read more…

“For the mystery of iniquity (lawlessness) doth already work,” 2 Thessalonians 2:7.

The uncharacteristic scenes in Ballymena are a stark indication that society in Northern Ireland is most certainly not what it was in the not too distant past.

Many politicians in Stormont have been giving their usual utterly inept counsel as to the cause and the cure for such behaviour. The nationalist and republican members there have churned out the usual ‘anti-unionist’ responses, straight out of the well worn ‘glossary of sectarianism’ we have heard quoted since time immemorial!

It is to the Word of God that we MUST turn for an explanation of the events. Yes, it is right to refer to the impact of illegal immigration but that does not fully explain the totally wrong scenes witnessed in Ballymena.

The modern view of morality as witnessed in the lives of the ‘famous’ in the world of entertainment, those who change ‘partners as causally as one might change their socks, is also to be seen as a contributor to the rioting since the wickedness of men guilty of the indecent assault on a 14-year old girl, whoever they were, feature as a chief cause of the rioting.

AMUSEMENT

It is worthy of noting that the word ‘amusement’ means ‘a diverting away of the attention’. That is what the activities of the world of television, films and games have done — diverted our attention away from the eternal realities of God’s Word to the adopting of the lifestyle of the fables and fancies conjured up by man’s depraved nature!

The understanding of the moral law of God and the Bible’s teaching on modesty and decorum has evaporated from our society over the past generations due mainly to such influences! Click to read more…

A recent BBC headline, based upon the words of its International editor, Jeremy Bowen, reads as follows:—

‘ISRAEL IS ACCUSED OF THE GRAVEST WAR CRIMES – HOW GOVERNMENTS RESPOND COULD HAUNT THEM FOR YEARS TO COME’

He claims that the ‘rules of war’, set down by the ‘Geneva Conventions’ are being broken by Israel in its war against the terrorist group, Hamas.

He writes, ‘Israel wanted us to see what Hamas had done. The conclusion has to be that it does not want foreign reporters to see what it is doing in Gaza.’

Furthermore, he writes, ‘Boaz Bismuth, a parliamentarian from Netanyahu’s Likud party, repeated his leader’s positions: that there is no famine in Gaza, that Israel respects the laws of war and that unwarranted criticism of its conduct by countries including the UK, France and Canada incites antisemitic attacks on Jews, including murder. . . Rival politicians inside Israel accuse Netanyahu of presiding over war crimes and turning Israel into a pariah state.’

I believe that there is little doubt that the ‘haunting’ the journalist refers to is that which he feels will follow a failure to act against Israel!

Accusations

There can be no doubt that nations are getting ready to follow through on their accusations of ‘war crimes’ against Israel and there are members of the press urging them on.

Little do such journalists realise that such comments and observations are but the beginnings of that which long ago was foretold in God’s precious and infallible Word!

END OF THIS AGE

At the end of this age, Israel will become the target of bitter hatred by many nations and its annihilation will be sought by them. I have said in earlier articles that undoubtedly Israel’s defiant and uncompromising response to the ongoing attacks by Palestinian terrorists has aggravated those nations that know little of what she has suffered and, in truth, care little about that suffering!

LAWLESS

Today is a day in which governments pour sympathy on the lawless to the detriment of the lawful. The ongoing controversy here surrounding the IRA and its murderous republicanism and the sympathies shown to it and its supporters and the financial pampering of the illegal immigrants flooding ashore in England and the government’s  impotency to act against the scourge, are prime examples of this. (27th October 1946 — 8th June 2024)

“The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance,” Psalm 112:6.

On the 8th June, one year ago, Ann, my beloved wife of 56 years and 3 months, went to be with the Lord after some 8 days in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) in Enniskillen. All told, I had known her from September 1964 until her passing to glory, a blessed period of nearly 60 years.

For a number of those days in hospital, at the beginning of her stay and then the final two days, she was in a semi-conscious state but there was a precious spell when she was very alert and was able to converse with her family.

The SWAH is a modern hospital with each patient occupying a private room. This suited our family visitation very well and we appreciated the courtesy and kindness of the nursing staff.

It was at 4.08 am on Saturday 8th June that Ann went to heaven and into the presence of the Lord she loved and served since a child of just under 5 years of age. It was the Lord’s honour and glory she lived to uphold and advance.

As a wonderful providence, my son-in-law, Rev Brian McClung, Lois’s husband, came upon this small report in the May/June 1951 edition of ‘Watching & Waiting’, the magazine of the Sovereign Grace Advent Testimony a few days ago.

In this video Ann tells of her conversion, some four months before her fifth birthday. This would have been about the month of June 1951. That which particularly troubled her were thoughts of the Lord coming again and her being lost and separated for all eternity from the members of the family who were saved.

Special Meetings

The above report tells of special meetings in the Gospel Tabernacle, Ballymena, where the Beattie family attended. The meetings were all about the second coming of Christ. They were held on 14th – 23rd April, just a few weeks before  Ann was saved. The preacher was Pastor W J Rowlands, author of a wonderfully helpful book, ‘Our Lord Cometh’.

As I read the report I realised why it was Ann was awakened and concerned about her soul by thoughts of her being unready when the Lord returned! She would undoubtedly have been brought to at least some of these meetings and, bright child that she was, she would have understood the messages and was troubled about her soul’s salvation. This gave rise to her seeking the Lord for salvation under the guidance of her father.

Memorial

As a memorial of her passing, the family wish to share a video of her speaking to the family on the occasion of her 70th birthday, at a family gathering on 22nd October 2016, a few days before her actual birthday on 27th October. She spoke on the subject of her godly father, Mr Charles Beattie. He died when she was only 16 years old so none of her family ever knew him. My oldest daughter, Lois, had requested that her mother speak of him.

That is what the video is all about, and it gives an insight into the influence that her father had upon her.

Ann knew and loved her Bible. She read it constantly, intelligently, submissively and prayerfully. There is a wonderful example of her knowledge of the Scriptures given without any pretension, when she uses the fourth commandment with its reference to the six days of creation and the one day of observing the Sabbath, to show that the ‘days’ of creation could not have been ‘long periods of time’ otherwise our Sabbath would have to be considered in like manner, which of course, it never was. It was from sunset to sunset, a 24 hour period.

As I write these few words of introduction to Ann’s video testimony, my heart is moved and stirred with a strange mixture of emotions — a sense of loss and loneliness for the dear one who shared so much of my life, with a sense of thankfulness for the mercy the Lord showed to me in giving this wonderful person to me as my wife and life partner, to a sweet sense of happiness that, in the province of God, I will one day be reunited with her in the blessed presence of the Saviour we both loved and sought to serve together.

Our family circulates this video to set forth the grace of God in the life of a daughter, a wife, a mother and a school teacher who walked with God. We do so to honour Him alone.

Further evidence of the growing obsession with drugs!

Young people ditching alcohol for party drugs as new data reveals record high ketamine and MDMA useage 

I have often quoted Revelation 18:23, which refers to the end-time city of Babylon and its dominating of the territory of the ten kingdoms, the latter-day empire of the Antichrist. The territory of the ten kingdoms will be basically that occupied by the Roman Empire of old.

The verse states: “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”

This is a declaration of the doom of the revived Babylon, the seat of Antichrist’s power. It is to be noted that its “merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”

The word ’sorceries’ is a translation of the Greek word, ‘pharmakeia’. It literally means ‘the use of or the administering of drugs.’  It is translated in Galatians 5:20 by the English word ‘witchcraft’.

Thus the influence of Babylon over all subservient to its dominion, is to be carried out by satanic powers employed by those under the influence of drugs!

The article was headlined:

Musk leaves D.C. with black eye: 5 takeaways from Oval Office sendoff with Trump

It contained this statement: “The Oval Office meeting came the same day the New York Times reported that Musk allegedly frequently used drugs such as ketamine, (regularly used in veterinary medicine – Editor) ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms while campaigning with Trump in 2024. The paper said it was unclear whether Musk used drugs while working for Trump in the Department of Government Efficiency.

Musk, the CEO of carmaker Tesla and rocket company SpaceX, and owner of social-media platform X, acknowledged in March 2024 that he used prescription ketamine to combat bouts of depression. He worried corporate executives by smoking marijuana during a podcast in 2018.

The New York Times story built on a Wall Street Journal story in January 2024 that alleged Musk used drugs such as LSD, cocaine, ecstasy and mushrooms. The campaign featured some erratic behavior, such as Musk jumping on stage behind Trump during an October rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Musk didn’t respond to reporters’ questions related to his drug use, but he has previously acknowledged using ‘small amount’ of ketamine ‘once every other week’ and marijuana ‘almost never.’ The New York Times reported that his ketamine use was often enough to affect his bladder.” Click to read more…

Here is a letter I submitted to the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ today.

Dear Editor,

In response to the letter by Peter McEvoy,

‘Remember after the Gerry Adams verdict, the Irish did not start this fight’,

it has to be said that Mr McEvoy writes as one who has imbibed and believes the false notions of Irish history taught in Roman Catholic schools.

While there is much that is mere fancy amongst the historical documents of Ireland, there are two that Protestant and Roman Catholic historians accept.

They are the ‘Confession of Patrick’ and his ‘Letter’.

From Patrick’s ‘Confession’ we learn that Patrick was not in Ireland to carry out the will of the Pope. Were he sent there by Pope Celestine, as Rome would claim, then that is one matter that Patrick would mention when giving an account of how he came to Ireland.

Patrick makes no mention whatever of the Pope or of Rome or of being sent by Celestine. His call to Ireland was a simple call sent of God. His language is as straightforward on this matter as that which you would hear today in a fundamentalist gospel meeting.

The message of Patrick is as far removed from the message of Roman Catholicism as heaven is from hell!

The granting of Ireland to the English king, Henry II, by Pope Adrian IV in 1155 is a great embarrassment to Roman Catholic historians. They have even attempted to claim that the Bull was a forgery and the Pope never issued such a degree.

The purpose of the invasion was to crush the remnant that clung to Patrick’s teaching and that defied Rome’s attempts to include Ireland under its ecclesiastical control.

Pope Adrian’s Bull was issued in 1155 but it did not suit Henry to invade Ireland until 1171. He landed at Waterford and met with little or no resistance and so Ireland passed into the hands of England.

Today, the Irish Republic would consider itself free from the invader of 1171. It is not so. The invader of Patrick’s Ireland is still entrenched in the land. That invader is Roman Catholicism. At its feet alone we may lay the blame for the ongoing controversy and the sorrows stemming from it.

How ironic that those who consider themselves, ‘Irish Patriots’, are in fact the upholders of the real ‘invader and depriver’ of the ancient gospel freedoms of the people of this island!

What little there remains of true gospel religion in Ireland is the remnant of the faith that Patrick, under God, introduced some fifteen centuries ago.

A national newspaper had this headline on Thursday 29 May, 2025.

Is THIS how the world will end? Scientists warn Earth could be flung out of orbit by a passing star – leaving humans to freeze to death

That is a conclusion born of a ‘super-charged deluded imagination’!

I have no doubt that they have no scientific basis for this ‘loony notion’!

The article informs us that: ‘For decades, scientists have pondered how the Earth could end.”

Scientists have not been alone in puzzling about the destiny of the earth. Unbelieving rejectors of the Word of God have been engaged in that folly since the ‘fall of Adam into sin’!

The article tells us who are the author’s of this ‘daftness’!

“In a new study, researchers from the Planetary Science Institute and the University of Bordeaux predict that Earth could be flung out of orbit by a passing star.

And without our Sun there to keep us warm, this would leave any inhabitants – including humans – to freeze to death.

Thankfully, the chances of this happening are very low.

Over the next five billion years, the chance of Earth being flung out of orbit by a passing star is around one in 500, according to the team.”

EARTH KNOCKED OFF COURSE!!!

God’s Purpose

God’s purpose for the earth will have been gloriously completed long before that date!!

We do have God’s Word on how things will be at the end of this present age and His future plans for the earth. There is no need for pondering and puzzling!

I. WE WILL START BY NOTING THAT THE LORD SAYS THAT HE CREATED THE EARTH!

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” Genesis 1:1.
