The man who lives to defy God . . .

THE MAN WHO LIVES TO DEFY GOD, NOT UNEXPECTEDLY, SIDES WITH THE SUPPORTERS OF TERRORISM AND DEFIERS OF THE CIVIL LAW!

The Right Honourable Sir Chris Bryant MP, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland

Secretary of State Sir Chris Bryant, who is a proud sodomite, has announced that he had banned the Orange Order parade along the Garvaghy Road in Portadown which had been affirmed by the courts and the Parades Commission as lawful.

Civil law in Northern Ireland has long been defied by Sinn Féin and its terrorist wing, the IRA. Many lives were lost during the years of IRA terrorism, especially members of the security forces, but nevertheless a policy of appeasement toward Sinn Fein was relentlessly pursued by the British Government and its ecumenically minded political acolytes here in Ulster.

The appeasement of the ‘lawless’ is seen in the Chief Constable’s response to the Secretary of State’s decision. In a statement he said:

‘I outlined in my letter to the Secretary of State that my current assessment was that all available, lawful and proportionate options to facilitate completion of the procession had been exhausted. Any remaining options would have required a substantial public order intervention that was not assessed to be proportionate, and which would have carried an unacceptable risk of serious injury, disorder and a wider contagion effect across Northern Ireland.

Further to this, such an operation would, in my view, have had not only catastrophic long-term consequences for trust and confidence in policing, but also for the Northern Ireland Executive and the peace process.’

His concern seems to be centred on avoiding any loss of ‘trust and confidence in policing’ on the part of the Republican community. There was no concern with regards to a totally justified loss of trust and confidence in him and the force he heads by the Loyalist community because of his failure to uphold the law in the face of the threat of mob violence!

Support

I am not a supporter of men parading to a service in the Church of Ireland, which is a prominent promoter of ecumenical apostasy, the very seed-bed of the comprehensive rebellion which has impacted upon every element of life here — religious, political, civil and moral!

However, once the courts had sanctioned the parade, there was a momentous failure on the part of the Chief Constable of the PSNI. He backed down from the mob who blocked the Garvaghy Road in a fashion that would not have been the case if it was a loyalist gathering acting in a similar fashion!

There appears little that the DUP and the Orange Order can do, other than spout empty words. But ‘huff and puff’ never has had any impact upon the devotees of terror and rebellion that is embodied in Sinn Féin and its republican allies.

Let every Christian understand that what is taking place is but what the Lord said WOULD TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF THIS AGE!

I repeat a Bible prophecy which I have often quoted before:

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away,” 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

These words of Paul describe the overall departure from all that is good and holy.

In another prophecy, Paul indicates the root of this horrific chaos.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron,” 1 Timothy 4:1-2.

Those who opened the door to this world-wide rebellion, which is very evident here in Northern Ireland, are those who “depart from the faith”, “giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”

That is a most comprehensive representation of the ‘spirit of Ecumenism’ which is ensconced in the three main churches here in Northern Ireland. Click to read more…

What does it mean to be 'filled with the Holy Ghost'?

A tongue of fire, or flame. Photo by Peyton Clough on Unsplash.com

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,” Acts 2:4.

This is a subject of which an understanding is very necessary today! There is sad evidence of a great lack of such an experience as that of the early believers on the day of Pentecost. It was not just on that occasion that this infilling took place, but it was obviously repeated on many occasions. This may be seen in Acts 4:8, 31; 9:17; 13:9; 19:6.

Pictures

In verses 2-4 of Acts 2, we are given three word ‘pictures’ of the infilling by the Holy Ghost of those waiting in prayer, in obedience to the Lord, on the day of Pentecost.

These descriptive phrases help us to understand just what it is to be “filled with the Holy Ghost”.

I. I MIGHT START BY STATING THAT IT IS THE WILL OF GOD FOR ALL HIS PEOPLE TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!

1. The extremes and excesses of the ‘Pentecostal’ movement have caused all too many to shy away from the truth of God on this solemn matter. But fleshly imitations of that which is ordained of God should not cause us to turn our backs upon that, without which in truth, we cannot serve the Lord with any degree of success!

After all, the all too common counterfeiting of money does not cause us to abandon the use of genuine currency!

2. The Word of God says to us all what is God’s will regarding the Holy Ghost. “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God,” Ephesians 5:18-21.

“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God,” are the marks of the Christian life BUT such is not possible unless ‘fuelled’, if I may use that term, by the grace of Holy Spirit. These holy activities can only be manifested in the life of one who is “filled with the Spirit.”

The drinking of wine and other alcoholic beverages is in order to ‘enjoy’ the effect of the drug contained within the wine – alcohol. Broadly speaking, it can generate a sense of ‘well-being and contentment’. Though this very soon dissipates and further alcohol is required to maintain such a falsely generated  sense of joy.

3. In a parallel sense, the blessings of being filled with the Holy Ghost can only be maintained by a constant renewing of that relationship with the Holy Ghost. Thus, an obedient and submissive and repeated yielding to Him is ever needed if we are to remain ‘filled’ by Him.

II. LET US CONSIDER THE ‘PICTURES’ OF WHAT TOOK PLACE ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST.

As I have already stated, I believe that we are all given three pictures of what took place on that wonderful day, even as the Lord Jesus had promised the disciples would take place. “Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence,” Acts 1:5.

1. Consider first of all the ‘sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting’. Under this imagery, this figurative picture of the descent of the Holy Ghost, we are given to understand just how all-enveloping the experience was.

When we are standing out in the wind we are surrounded entirely by it. No matter how well we are wrapped up, it can touch us everywhere!

In like manner, the infilling of the Holy Ghost results in our whole becoming subject to the influences of the Spirit of God and the graces that He conveys to the believer. Click to read more…

A transcript of Dr Cooke's sermon - ‘Free Presbyterianism, why?’

Dr. S. B. “Bert” Cooke

This is an electronic transcript of Dr S B Cooke’s sermon, ‘Free Presbyterianism, why?’, preached back in 2000 in Mourne Free Presbyterian Church.

I believe that it is a faithful copy of what our esteemed brother preached and it may help those who wish to study more closely what Dr Cooke said.

It stands as a monument to the wisdom and faithfulness of our Free Presbyterian forefathers!

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Transcript of a sermon preached by Dr. S. B. Cooke in 2000 at Mourne Free Presbyterian Church.

Thank you very much.

I do count it a great honor and privilege to be with you here this evening to have fellowship with the young people of our church. And we do pray that God himself will come and meet with us, that he might bless his word to our hearts, and that he might challenge you upon the subject upon which we are seeking this evening to meditate upon. I trust you have your Bible with you.

We’re going to be reading from one of the historical books of the Old Testament, 1 Samuel chapter 17. I’m commencing to read at the 20th verse. 1 Samuel chapter 17 and verse 20.

And David rose up early in the morning, and left his sheep with the keeper, and took and went as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle. For Israel and the Philistines had put the battle in array, army against army. And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren. And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words. And David heard them.

And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were sore afraid. And the men of Israel said, Have you seen this man has come up surely to defy Israel as he come up and it shall be that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel. And David speak to the man that stood by him saying, what shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine and take it away the reproach from Israel. For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.

And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men. And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? And with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the naughtiness of thine heart, for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle. And David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause?

Amen. We trust the Lord will add his own divine blessing upon this portion from his inspired and infallible truth. Let’s bow our heads in a short word of prayer.

Our Father, we do thank Thee for this opportunity of meeting together. We pray, Lord, that as we look into Thy Word, that Thou, who art the divine author of the divine book, even God the Holy Spirit, might presence Himself with us in a real and definite manner. We ask you, our Father, that Thou wilt shine upon the sacred page. Thou wilt bless Thy truth to every heart and challenge every soul in our midst this evening. We ask it for the Saviour’s sake. Amen.

The 29th verse of the portion that we read together here from 1 Samuel 17 reads, and David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause?

These words of David were spoken when the armies of Israel were threatened by Goliath, the giant of the armies of the Philistines. David was but a shepherd boy and he was visiting the battlefield to meet up with his brethren. Other members of the household, his older brothers were there in the army of Saul. And while David was there, he heard this challenge from Goliath. When Goliath challenged Israel, its armies, and above all, its God. And David was filled with righteous indignation. Free Presbyterianism, why?

Dr S B Cooke tells us just what Free Presbyterianism is!

It is a reminder that needs to be heard by today’s generation.

Dr Cooke was preaching in Mourne Free Presbyterian Church at a meeting in 2000, discussing the founding of the Free Presbyterian Church in 1951.

He sets out plainly how apostate the Presbyterian Church in Ireland is, an apostasy that has deepened since the founding of the Free Presbyterian Church.

If separation from it was God’s will in 1951, it is even more so today, 75 years later and 100 years since the Presbyterian Church in Ireland rejected the fundamentals of the Gospel and embraced the heresies of Prof J E Davey!

This meeting took place 26 years before Dr. Cooke went to glory.

The meeting was led by the then minister, Rev Colin Mercer.

The death penalty - letter to the editor

I have submitted the following letter to ‘The Belfast Newsletter’, the new editor of which is Rodney Edwards.

He is the former editor of the local Co. Fermanagh weekly newspaper, ‘The Impartial Reporter’.

If truth be told, that newspaper ought to have changed its name to ‘The Partial Reporter’ during his editorship!

I therefore do not expect this letter to be published!

Sir,

Your correspondent, Mr John Fitzgerald from Co Kilkenny, rails against the death penalty because of the sad and distressing debacle of the attempted execution of Christa Pike in Tennessee. There is no more merit in Mr Fitzgerald’s  argument any more than there would be in a call for the abolition of all police forces on the basis of the killing of an innocent person by some rogue policeman!

Mugshot of Christa Pike, murder convict in Tennessee, USA

Why that dreadful event in Tennessee should have taken place has yet to be disclosed. However, the death penalty is not an institution of man but is of divine origin.

“Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man,” Genesis 9:6.

It is intended as a deterrent against murder. It serves to underscore that sin will be punished. It is meant to be punished by society for its own security and peace. But all sin, irrespective of how it has been dealt with by society, will one day be dealt with by the Lord in the strictest justice and righteousness.

Over the centuries man has adopted very contrary views on what is sin to that set down by the Lord in His Word.

At this present time, there is much that men have determined to be legal and proper which the Lord has repeatedly declared, in the strongest terms, as wickedness.

These contrary views endorsed by men will not alter the final judgment meted out by the Lord Jesus Christ.

God “hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead,” Acts 17:31.

That “man” is the Lord Jesus Christ. “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son,” John 5:22.

God’s Word is cast aside today for the most spurious of reasons, but the dreadful consequences of such folly will be realised one day.

Bringing the King back - Pt 3

Rev. Ivan Foster reprised his series from 2000 on bringing King David back after the rebellion of Absalom, and how it shows us the required method of revival. This three part series was preached at special meetings in Mourne FPC.

THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE KING’S RESTORATION.

It is to be noted that it was the king who initiated contact with the people.  Like the Prodigal’s father, he was watching for signs of a return. Consider:

I. THE WORDS OF THE KING.

“And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house. Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king? And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab,” 19:11-13.He will not force himself upon his people, Hosea 5:15.

  • His messengers. The priests, the teachers of the law. Task of preachers today!
  • Those spoken to. The elders. Here is divine order.
  • He reminds them of their close ties with him. Amasa was his nephew. I am sure these words would have resonated with more than just Amasa. We belong to the family of God, not this world.
  • He speaks of forgiveness and restoration. Despite Amasa’s siding with Absalom, David promised to advance him.

II. THE IMPACT OF THE KING’S WORDS

“And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants,” verse 14. Click to read more…

Anxious and alarmed academics!

The headline of an article in the ‘Daily Mail’ of 30th September attracted my attention.

It read:

Earth’s vital signs are flashing red: Seven of nine key systems have been breached – as scientists warn ‘we’re rapidly running out of time’

While I am not inclined to ‘swallow’ the announcements and assertions of modern scientists, the majority of which believe the anti-scriptural, ‘Theory of Evolution’ This in itself would give grounds to any true Christian to view with a healthy measure of scepticism what they say. Nevertheless, there are points made in the very long report that are worthy of note.

The group that issued the report, the Planetary Health Check 2026, states the following regarding it.

‘The Planetary Health Check is a yearly report on the state of our planet. It presents the most up-to-date assessments of the Planetary Boundaries, gives thorough introductions into cutting-edge science, and spotlights especially relevant aspects of our planet’s health. In this 2026 edition, we place a special focus on carbon sinks and novel entities.’

It goes on to claim:

‘Human activities have pushed Earth beyond its Safe Operating Space. The planet’s natural resilience is weakening: Global warming is accelerating, ecosystems are showing clear signs of degradation, and early warning signs of tipping points are emerging in key systems. We have entered the Anthropocene — an era where human activity dominates the Earth system.’

Accept

That I can most certainly accept. I have often thought of that symbol of modern man’s ‘littering’, situated in the Pacific Ocean and called, ‘The Great Pacific Garbage Patch’.

It is a  large mass of rubbish floating in the middle of the ocean and located in the central North Pacific between Hawaii and California.

It covers an estimated surface area of 1.6 million square kilometres —roughly twice the size of Texas or three times the size of France!

Origins

All of us may see the origins of such a horrendous manifestation of the thoughtless, inconsiderate mind of our modern global society, scattered along the grass verges of our roads!

The loutish behaviour of those who mindlessly throw out of their car window that which they are too imbecile to bring home and dispose of properly, is the mindset that is the fountainhead  of the Earth’s pollution! Click to read more…

Psalm 24

David Baron (1855–1926)

Reprinting by permission from the magazine of the Soverign Grace Advent Testimony – ‘Watching & Waiting’  (October – December, 2026)

By David Baron

(Mr. Baron gave a full exposition of Psalm 24, but sadly, space forbids that we include the whole article here.  However, we are happy to give a little of his introduction to the Psalm- Editor, ‘Watching & Waiting’).

In their application to our Lord Jesus Christ, Psalms 22, 23, and 24 have sometimes been grouped together as ‘the Shepherd Psalms.’  In the 22nd, He is prophetically set forth as ‘The Good Shepherd’ (John 10), who lays down His life for the sheep.  In the 23rd, He is ‘The Great Shepherd’ (Hebrews 13:20), who having been raised from the dead, skilfully tends His flock in this moral wilderness, leading them into green pastures, and by the quiet waters.  And in Psalm 24, He is ‘The Chief Shepherd’ (1 Peter 5:4), not only crowned with honour and glory Himself, but who, at His appearing, shall bestow a crown of glory which fadeth not away on all His faithful under-shepherds.

According to Rabbinic writers, with which most Christian commentators are agreed, the historical occasion which originated the 24th Psalm was the bringing up of the Ark from Kirjath-jearim to the Tabernacle which David built for it on Mount Zion, as recorded in 2 Samuel 6.  Now the Ark was, so to say, the earthly throne of Jehovah, for with it was associated the Cloud of Glory, the visible symbol of God’s special presence in the midst of His people, and the pledge and prophecy of the time when ‘the King of Glory’ shall be manifested and set up His throne on His ‘holy hill’ of Zion, from there to extend His beneficent rule over the whole earth.

Indeed almost every great event in the past history of Israel foreshadows something still greater in the future, and that which is foreshadowed by the triumphal procession of the Ark to Mount Zion amid the great demonstrations of joy and gladness, shall be fulfilled when Jehovah in the person of the Messiah – the true ‘King of Glory’ – shall appear not only to claim, but to exercise sovereignty over the earth, and when a great voice out of heaven shall proclaim, ‘Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and be their God.’

It is interesting to note that in the Service of Song which accompanied the Divinely appointed ritual in the Temple, the 24th Psalm was the one sung on the first day of the week, which was later to be consecrated as the day of memorial of the resurrection of Christ, which was the first step in His glorification, inasmuch as He was thereby manifestly ‘declared to be the Son of God with power.’

The Psalm divides itself into three parts.  First we have a proclamation of the absolute and universal sovereignty of God over the earth (verses 1-2).  Then follows a description of those who can be declared worthy to enter into the presence of this Almighty God whose chief attribute is that of holiness.  In the last brief section there is the triumphant announcement of the advent of the Divine Hero – the conqueror of sin and death – who truly answers to the requirements set forth in the second section, and before whom therefore the ‘everlasting doors’ which as a consequence of the Fall shut out sinful men from the presence of God, must open wide.

Blindness in Part has Happened to Israel

David Baron (1855–1926)

Reprinting by permission from the magazine of the Soverign Grace Advent Testimony – ‘Watching & Waiting’  (October – December, 2026)

a sermon by David Baron

(This message was preached by Mr Baron on 25th March, 1926 (approximately 7 months before his home-call), at a Conference of the Sovereign Grace Advent Testimony held in Highgate Road Chapel, London).

‘For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: for this is My Covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins’ (Romans 11:25-27).

I want, by God’s help, to speak some very simple elementary truth this afternoon – such that even the youngest believer can understand and lay hold of.  I shall have occasion to refer to different parts of this chapter, but I want particularly to centre your thoughts in the first instance on these three verses.

Avoid Ignorance

The first point I would beg you to notice is that this subject of Israel is one concerning which Christians cannot afford, for their own good, to be ignorant about.  ‘I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery,’ says the apostle, ‘lest ye should be wise in your own conceits.’  Alas, the very danger which the apostle foresaw, and concerning which he warns us, Christendom has fallen into.  It has become wise in its own conceits.  It is proud, it is boastful, it claims to have taken the place of Israel, and proclaims that it is making wonderful progress, and that it is going to bring the world into the Kingdom of God: yet all the time it is itself corporately sinking deeper and deeper into apostasy.  Would to God that Christendom had given heed to the warnings contained in this chapter, and had taken to heart God’s dealings with His own nation.  It might then have been saved from falling into the great errors which characterise the professing Church of Christ.

Remember, says the apostle, in verses 21 and 22, that ‘if God spared not the natural branches, neither will He spare thee.  Behold, therefore, the goodness, and the severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness if thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.’  Alas, Christendom has not continued in the goodness of God – namely, God’s marvellous grace which is revealed to us in our Lord Jesus Christ and which is made sure only to those who continue in the faith.  The late Dr Adolph Saphir used to say that Christendom which boasts so much of having taken the place of Israel, instead of being able to exercise any influence for Christ and His Gospel on the Jewish people, has itself fallen into the two outstanding errors of modern Judaism.  The two great errors that characterise Rabbinic Judaism are these: first it exalts human tradition to the same level as the Word of God, and practically makes the Word of God of none effect by these traditions; and the second is an error of doctrine.  ‘Being ignorant of the righteousness of God’ – that is the justifying righteousness which God provides for sinful men, which must be received as a gift through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ – ‘they go about seeking to establish their own righteousness.’ Click to read more…

A short biography of David Baron

David Baron (1855–1926)

Reprinting by permission from the magazine of the Soverign Grace Advent Testimony – ‘Watching & Waiting’  (October – December, 2026)

David Baron was taken to be with Christ on 28th October, 1926, so that this month is the centenary of his home-call.  He was a man who was mighty in the Scriptures, and the Sovereign Grace Advent Testimony has continually recommended his writings throughout its 108 years.  We wish that in these days, more Christians would study his works as we know they would greatly profit from doing so.

In its early days, the SGAT was always pleased to have David Baron speak at its meetings and in this issue of Watching and Waiting, there is a summary of a sermon that he preached shortly before his passing into glory.  The message was preached at a three day conference at Highgate Road Chapel, London and others taking part at that conference included William Baker, Thomas Houghton, George T Hunt, S Hutchinson, John Hunt Lynn, James Stephens, and William Wileman; so there was plenty of good and faithful preaching.

David Baron was born in Russia/Poland in 1855, and he lived to be 71.  His was a life spent for Christ and Israel.  His writings were Scriptural and helpful and although some of his books may now be out of print, second-hand copies are frequently available and are worth obtaining.

Dr A T Pierson wrote of him in 1891, ‘He is well named David, for he is a true prince of the Davidic house,’ referring, of course, to his spiritual understanding of the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms.  His name, David, meaning ‘the Beloved,’ was appropriate too, seeing that he was loved by numerous believers, both Jewish and Gentile, in England, America, on the Continent and in the Colonies, wherever he or his books travelled.

As a Jewish lad be spent his early days in Suvalki in Russian Poland. His upbringing and training were under strict Rabbinical influence.
The youngest of seven children, at four years of age, he went to the Jewish School (Cheder), and could, in six months, read Hebrew well.   This meant that when reading the Old Testament, he would use the Hebrew Text rather than the English translation.

He had, in his early life, many trials and some of these are recorded in the book, ‘David Baron and the Hebrew Christian Testimony to Israel.’  Mr Baron’s personal spiritual experiences have been told in his own words in the booklet, ‘Led of God from Darkness into Light.’

Following his conversion, he, like the apostle Paul, had a great concern for his fellow kinsmen and a strong desire to preach the Gospel to the Jewish people.  So, in 1893 he, with Mr C A Schonberger, under God, commenced the Mission known as ‘The Hebrew Christian Testimony to Israel.’  As director in this work, he edited their quarterly magazine entitled, ‘The Scattered Nation’ but sadly, it is now extremely difficult to obtain volumes of the bound copies.  The Sovereign Grace Advent Testimony is thankful that it possesses a set of these volumes as we do not know of any other person or movement that is thus blessed. Marking the passing to glory of a great man

David Baron (1855–1926)

“The memory of the just is blessed,” Proverbs 10:7.

We join with the Soverign Grace Advent Testimony in marking the death of David Baron. He went to be with the Lord on 28th October, 1926. He was born a Jew and died as a ‘Israelite indeed’.

The magazine of the Soverign Grace Advent Testimony is marking his death by publishing some articles about him. I have been given permission to republish them on my website.

I know that all who love that most blessed of all Jews, our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, will be stirred and edified by the articles we are mounting on ‘The Burning Bush’.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster
