Christians could be BANNED from fostering children

The following report is taken from GB News. It thoroughly exposes the bitter animosity that abides in the heart of this Irish/American president, born from that inherited from his Irish ancestry!

It has rightly been claimed by some US politicians that the new proposed law will impact upon Christians, though that term is too broad, for there are many ‘Christians’ in modernistic and liberal churches who quite happily embrace the whole plethora of depraved corruptions that go under the label of  — ‘LGBT+’!

Biden, a supposed ‘Christian’ of the Roman Catholic variety, thus demonstrates that he and this ‘religious organisation’ he belongs to, are in total opposition to the Word of God, for his Pope embraces this latter-day manifestation of the increasing apostasy of mankind. See this article:

Pope Francis kicks conservative US Cardinal Raymond Burke out of his Vatican apartment and strips him of his salary after he criticized pontiff’s pro-LGBT stance

The downgrade of ‘Christendom’, gripped as it has been for generations by increasing rebellion against God and His TRUTH, becomes ever more threatening toward the remnant of true believers, who alone have a right to the term ‘Christian’!

Here in the United Kingdom, we have witnessed an increasingly overt plan of opposition to all that is Biblical.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

Christians could be BANNED from fostering children under Joe Biden’s new plans

A group of Republican attorneys general have warned that Joe Biden’s new proposals would drive Christians out of the foster care system.

The new rule will remove faith-based providers from the foster care system if they do not change their religious beliefs on sexual orientation and gender identity.

On Monday, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall along with 18 Republican colleagues in other states wrote a letter to the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) calling for the Biden administration to change the rule. Click to read more…

The Saviour never pulled any punches!!

The reformer John Knox was an example of a minister of the Gospel who pulled no punches!

I have just read this morning Luke chapter 11. I noticed particularly the section between verses 37 to 54 and it struck me that the Saviour was in no way ‘mealy-mouthed’ when responding to the foolish actions and words of men.

I noticed the blunt language He used in the these verses when speaking to the religious leaders of Israel came after He had been in prayer!

“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples,” Luke 11:1. His prayer was most impressive for it was followed by a request from a disciple that He teach them to so pray.

This He did and we have in verses 2-4 the ‘disciples’ prayer’.

I also noticed that His bluntness of speech in no way contravened good manners. That would be impossible for the One of Whom it is said: “Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth,” 1 Peter 2:22.

He directed these plain words of condemnation at a man and his friends, who were doubtless there alongside Him, as He partook of refreshments in the home of a Pharisee. The Pharisee was ready to find fault with the actions and behaviour of the Lord Jesus, not because He contravened the Law of God, but because He did observe the ‘man-made’ laws of the Pharisees. “And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner,” Luke 11:37-38.

This was an elaborate ‘washing’, invented of men and had nothing to do with common hygiene! Dr John Gill comments on this verse so: “The Pharisees not only washed their hands, by immersing them up to the elbow before eating; but when they had been at market, or among any large number of people, or had reason to think they had, or feared they had touched any unclean person or thing, they immersed themselves all over in water: and which is the sense of the word βαπτιζομαι, (washed or baptised) here used.”

It was this insulting observation that brought forth the frank denunciations of the Saviour for He knew exactly their ways. How unwise to enter a controversy with the One Who is called ‘The Word of God’! Likewise, it is utterly foolish to challenge assertions that are thoroughly based upon the Holy Scriptures. Another one of many kind and encouraging emails sent to me

Photo by Florian Klauer on Unsplash

I have been greatly encouraged by the emails sent to me in support of my stand on the issue of ‘dancing’.

I could have mounted many more than I have, all of whom were happy to identify themselves, in contrast to the anonymous abuse others sent.

I am mounting this because it is from a younger person and that in itself is an encouraging thing. I have removed some details which may have identified the writer before posting the email, though I am sure that would not have been required. I do so for I do not want the writer to be targeted by those cowardly ‘trolls’ who seem to delight in hurting and vexing others.

I am sure other Free Presbyterians of the ‘old school’ will likewise find encouragement in the words of this email.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

Dear Mr Foster

I’m disappointed to see you have received emails criticising your stand, especially when at least one of those emails came from inside Presbytery. It unfortunately is a sign of the times we are living in and shows the “falling away” spoken of in Scriptures is happening all around us.

I’m not a Free Presbyterian by birth or upbringing, I was a member of  . . . . . . . . church, who  . . . . .  married a FP and have attended a FP church since. Contrary to what some of the emails you have shown online seem to suggest, we did not need dancing to have a good wedding day. Our reception finished with a hymn and prayer and guests were on their way home by 8pm. Click to read more…

What is it to be holy in the 21st century? Pt 1

On 20th November I received the following via email.

Dear Rev. Foster,

I’ve read with great interest your recent emails and commend you for your stance. The reason for my correspondence is not to add anything to the current conversation as I am in agreement with you but to ask if you would consider outlining in a series of email teachings, what it means to live a separated and holy life and what that looks like for the Christian in this day and age?

One thing that jumps out from the responses you have received, and indeed from your own email about dancing is that most Christians, and I include myself in this, are quite ignorant of what the Bible teaches. We are not being taught these things from the pulpits. So if you have the time Sir and are led of the Lord to do so, I believe I would not be alone in appreciating good teaching on such matters.

May God bless you Rev. Foster as you continue to stand for His truth.

I look forward to your teachings and thank you again that you are there standing in the gap.”

I am more than happy to try and answer this request as the Lord helps me.

Today, I read 1st Peter chapter 1, as part of my Bible reading devotions. I have often stated that I use Robert Murray M‘Cheyne’s Bible Reading Calendar, and I commend it to all once more. It can be freely downloaded from the internet.

Well today, I sat as it were, at the feet of Peter.

In this first chapter he deals with the subject of ‘SANCTIFICATION’ at some length. Sanctification is a term used of holy living. The Shorter Catechism teaches us what sanctification is.

Answer to question 35. “Sanctification is the work of God’s free grace, whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness.”

I recall Dr Paisley stating of the Shorter Catechism, soon after I was saved, that it was a ‘wonderful compendium of Christian doctrine’! I must confess that I did not understand at the first that delightful description of this wonderful catechism, written for children I must add, but which has been the ‘educator’ of many, many adults in the sacred knowledge of Bible doctrine.

That answer 35, with wonderful simplicity and clarity tells us, in a nutshell, just what holy living is and how it is to be accomplished.

Let me start with that simple truth: Click to read more…

An appeal to the members of the Free Presbyterian Church and especially to the Presbytery members

By Rev Ivan Foster (Rtd)

I believe that there is an evil undercurrent flowing and growing within the Free Presbyterian Church.

It remains to be seen if it will be rebuked and repudiated or if it will be ignored or, worse still, endorsed by the members, ministers and elders, especially those who make up the membership of our General Presbytery.

I am referring to the case of Rev David Wilson dancing publicly but a few weeks after he took an oath before the Lord and those gathered at his ordination back in mid-September, to “expose and oppose the IMMORALITY AND SOCIAL VICES of this present evil world such as DRINKING, DANCING and GAMBLING”, and the support given him in abusive emails by those who claim to be Free Presbyterians!

There can be NO EXCUSE offered for such a display. The ordination oath clearly states DANCING, that is every form of dancing. As there can be no exceptions to prohibition of Drinking and Gambling, under any circumstances, the same goes for dancing.

We are under a divine injunction to, “Abstain from all appearance of evil,” 1 Thessalonians 5:22. No matter how innocent an act of dancing may be claimed to be, it has the ‘appearance’, the form and fashion of that which is the world’s activity and we must therefore ‘hold one’s self off from’, as the original Greek may be explained!

If David Wilson ‘dancing’ is excused, then Free Presbyterian properties will soon be dance halls!

Those who have sought to defend this ‘wedding dance’ have done so by saying that it was an expression of ‘holy joy before the Lord’. If that is so, why, as I am led to believe, did no one else join in this dance? Did the new groom not feel such joy? Did the bride’s mother not feel happy before the Lord? It would appear that no one else felt that dancing in this fashion was a proper manner of expressing a rejoicing in the Lord that day!

Whatever decision the Presbytery will make will undoubtedly decide the future direction and destination of a church which was called into existence by the Lord, as was described in the 1988 Covenant, signed throughout the congregations, wherein each signatory before God solemnly covenanted, “by His Grace, to stand with Christ in this evil day, for all that He is for, and against all that He is against.” That covenant was solemnly undertaken on February 28th, just 25 years ago! Yet another who sees no sin in oath breaking!

Here is yet another ‘unsigned’ example of the ‘Christianity’ of one who sees no sin in the breaking of an oath made to the Lord and who unhesitatingly hurls abuse at one who dares to expose such a sin.

My article contained nothing of  the ‘hatefulness’ of which I am accused, but simply consisted of questions regarding the behaviour of David Wilson in the light of his oath and the standards of the Free Presbyterian Church.

Just what has been bred in the pews of ‘modern’ Free Presbyterianism?

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

Mr. Foster,

Regarding your treatment of David Wilson recently which frankly reminded me of something a 13 year old girl might post on the Internet to shame someone she’d fell out with, I see absolutely nothing in your behaviour which resembles brotherly love or even godliness of any description. Your hateful public attack on David, his daughter and all involved is an embarrassment to your denomination and your own witness. You have showed no consideration or discretion. No love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Indeed one might find more similarities with your behaviour in Galatians 5.20 – hatred, wrath, strife.

You refer to the new generation of Free Presbyterians as lesser Christians than yourself. I personally think the further we can get from your particular brand of egotistic legalism the better state the church will be in.

It’s cowardly to hide behind your keyboard and launch attacks on those you hold grudges against. Surely a more proper response would have been to meet the man face to face and discuss your differences of opinion in a constructive manner. I fail to see what you hoped to achieve. I find it horrific that a so called Christian can act as you have and feel no remorse.

I acknowledge a level of ironic hypocrisy in what I’ve said here but I find myself utterly disgusted with what I’ve read and hope you will consider the harmful effect you have on Christian brothers and sisters and leave the adjudicating to the proper establishment.

My reply

Being conscious of your ‘ironic hypocrisy’ on your part does not in the least deter you from writing as you do. Click to read more…

More encouraging words

I thought that I might share with you these two encouraging emails, just so that you might know that not everyone takes the very antagonistic attitude of those whose emails I have already shared with you.

One is local and one comes from the Czechia (the Czech Republic).

I know from the response of many of our readers that much prayer is going up to heaven for the success of our protest.

Please continue to pray!

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” James 5:16.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

Dear Rev Foster

Like your previous correspondent, you are unlikely to know me. Unlike him, I have no desire to upbraid you; far from it, in fact.

I am under 40 and an unprofitable servant of the Lord Jesus Christ but I have long had concerns about dancing. For the last 15 years or so, it seems to have exploded in popularity at FP weddings. While I confess that I do not fully understand the all the minute details behind its prohibition, I have seen enough to know that most modern forms of dance exhibit a sensuality unbecoming of a believer. Therefore, I am saddened that it seems now to be considered socially acceptable even for saved people to engage in this activity.

The reason for this email is that I want to commend you for your courage and faithfulness to the Saviour in the stand you are taking. I realise that you are unfairly being characterised as unloving for calling out Rev Wilson in public but you make a good point of comparison with Paul and Peter. Further, I have seen enough of your previous service to Christ and His church to know that your actions are those of a man who loves the FPC enough to risk unpopularity in the cause of purity. Another who sees no sin in oathbreaking!!

This is an email I received this morning early. A nice start to the week!

My answer follows immediately and then the email itself. I have omitted the name of the writer.

It highlights the departure from the TRUTH of God that is sadly found in the ranks of the next generation of young Free presbyterians.

I cannot but blame the failure of our pulpits for such ignorance of God’s Word and the God-honoured stand of the Free Presbyterian Church in years past!

Here is cause for faithful believers to pray that the Lord will, in mercy, turn the tide!

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

My reply to the email below

And a very good morning to you, XXXXX  XXXXXX.

You say I don’t know you but I do now, as your name is given in your email address even though you leave it off your email letter.

You say you are a ‘Free Presbyterian’. I would correct you and inform you that you are of the ‘new breed’ of Free Presbyterians!

The purpose God brought the Free Presbyterian Church into existence back in 1951 was to EXPOSE AND PROTEST AGAINST the oath-breaking of the ministers and elders of the mainline churches.

Your write a lengthy diatribe against me is in DEFENCE of an incident which centred upon the breaking of a solemn oath taken by a FP minister but a few weeks before. That makes you anything but a Free Presbyterian!

You accuse me of using the internet to attack Mr Wilson. I merely used the same medium that he used when he, or a family member, posted a picture of him dancing on November 5th in complete defiance and breach of the oath he had taken before God on September 18th. Click to read more…

FP minister's dancing defended by another FP minister

I received the following email on Saturday evening past, from a Free Presbyterian minister, criticising me for my article on Rev David Wilson dancing at his daughter’s wedding in breach of the vow he had taken before the Lord and His people just a few weeks earlier. See the original article here.

It is to be noticed that the writer did not in the least condemn the breaching by David Wilson of his ordination vow. It is also to be noted that this minister did not quote one verse of Scripture to support his view of the incident or his attack upon me.

His views I find almost as alarming as the actions of David Wilson. For that reason I am going to publish his letter without revealing his identity. I am challenging him to defend his defence of the wedding day incident and also his criticism of my article.

I am just hoping that he now thinks better of his folly. Sadly, I fear that there are others who think like him but they desire to remain hidden!

If ‘dancing’ is acceptable Christian behaviour, then Presbytery will have to change the vows used at the ordinations of ministers and elders and also its BOOK OF ORDER!

It will also have to apologise to the people of God generally for our Church imposing an unscriptural oath upon men for the last seventy two years and repent for misrepresenting the mind and will of God on this matter!

There is a verse in Proverbs which would need to be sincerely considered in this context.

“Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set,” Proverbs 22:28. The vow denouncing ‘dancing’ has been a landmark set by our ‘fathers’ as they felt guided by the Lord and we would need to be most careful in removing it!

There can be no defending of the casting aside of a vow taken by a minister or an elder before the Lord. If the vow was wrong, he should not have submitted to it. If it is right, then he should have kept his vow. Click to read more…

Is this the shameful state the Free Presbyterian Church has descended into!!!

There is a video of Rev David Wilson’s ordination service in the Martyrs Memorial Church and his answering the questions put to him on September 18th of this year, on the Martyrs Memorial FaceBook website. At 26 minutes and 30 seconds into that video, Mr Wilson may be heard answering the following question put to him by Rev John Greer, Clerk of Presbytery.

The question was:

Will you publicly expose and oppose the IMMORALITY AND SOCIAL VICES of this present evil world such as DRINKING, DANCING and GAMBLING and by example live righteously, soberly and godly before all men?

Mr Wilson is heard on the video swearing before the Lord that HE WILL ‘publicly expose and oppose the IMMORALITY AND SOCIAL VICES of this present evil world such as DRINKING, DANCING and GAMBLING’.

The BOOK of ORDER states this as one of the DISTINCTIVES OF THE FREE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF ULSTER

“Sanctified in Behaviour, requiring its members to lead godly lives in obedience to the Scriptures which call on God’s people to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. Testimonies of holiness and righteousness are vital to the life and witness of Christ’s Church in a world increasingly plagued by the pleasure crazes of this generation, such as drinking (as defined in 5.6c), DANCING and gambling.”

THIS IS THE SAME REV DAVID WILSON, SOME 50 DAYS LATER, WHO IS PICTURED DANCING AT THE WEDDING OF HIS DAUGHTER.

Is this publicly exposing and opposing ‘the IMMORALITY AND SOCIAL VICES of this present evil world such as DANCING’?

Are we witnessing the abandoning of the BOOK OF ORDER, so recently complied by Presbytery?

AM I WRONG IN BELIEVING THAT THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THE SOLEMN OATH MR WILSON SWORE BEFORE GOD AND HIS BRETHREN AT HIS ORDINATION ON THE 18TH SEPTEMBER 2023?

The world's division coming into focus

Here are two articles I have copied from the media in order to highlight who are the friends and who are the enemies of Israel.

It would be right to generalise and say that the Bible divides these two opinions! Those who believe the Bible look with compassion upon the nation of Israel, the nation from which our blessed Saviour came and to which God has made great promises — which He will most surely keep.

The rejecters of the Bible, again speaking generally, are those arrayed against Israel.

I read this morning these words by Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist.

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, and hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; the oath which he sware to our father Abraham, that he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life,” Luke 1:68-75.

Zacharias Writes Down the Name of his Son
Fresco by Deomenico Ghirlandaio, Florence, between 1486 and 1490

The birth of John the Baptist was recognised by his father Zacharias, as another step forward in the great plan of God for His people Israel and for those of His elect amongst the Gentiles, and God’s eventual purpose which will enter upon its finalisation at the return of Christ.

Those who believe the Bible recognise the place in God’s purpose that the despised and hated nation of Israel has and they will ever look with sympathy upon that people, despite their present rejection of their True Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

These two articles contain errors and, in the case of the first one, misunderstandings of Holy Scripture. Even so, they serve to set forth the division of mankind in these last times. Click to read more…

Heathenism On Display

Rishi Sunak is joined by his wife Akshata and daughters as they light candles in Downing Street to mark Diwali

“The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works,” Psalm 145:8-9.

So read the headline in ‘The Daily Mail’. ‘Diwali’ is a a pagan celebration, chiefly marked by Hindus, though other pagan religions have a similar celebrations. Wikipedia says of this event: “Diwali is connected to various religious events, deities and personalities, such as being the day Rama returned to his kingdom in Ayodhya with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana after defeating the demon king Ravana. It is also widely associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and Ganesha, the god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles. Other regional traditions connect the holiday to Vishnu, Krishna, Durga, Shiva, Kali, Hanuman, Kubera, Yama, Yami, Dhanvantari, or Vishvakarman.”

The Prime Minister and his family enjoy the freedom to celebrate ‘Diwali’

Many ungodly men have been pictured on the doorstep of  ‘10 Downing Street’ over the years, but I believe that this is the first time it has been the site of the marking of a heathen event!

I read this morning from Psalm 145. Verse 9 says: “The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.” In a land where God’s Word, in past generations, has framed to a very large degree, the laws giving men ‘civil and religious liberty’, this goodness and tender mercy that David the Psalmist speaks of, is very much manifested.

It is through the liberties that the Lord has bestowed upon our nation that the Prime Minister and his family and others of their religion, can ‘celebrate’ and display their ‘faith’. Click to read more…

1922 massacre of Protestants

This scan, sent to me by a friend, is taken from the Belfast Telegraph of today (11/11/23) and gives details of a horrific massacre some 101 years ago. It is a long forgotten massacre because the victims were Protestants. Had it been republicans, the world would have been repeatedly reminded of it for ‘forever and a day’!

I feel that is something that we should remember and gives consideration to. Romanism has not changed. We here in Ulster, have experimental knowledge of how atrocities by the IRA have been explained away and justified by the glib tongues of Sinn Fein and its lie-spouting propagandists!

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Ivan Foster

Are we nearing the end of the age and how close is Christ’s return?

On Thursday past, I was checking the ‘hits’ on my website and I saw that a reader from Singapore had downloaded this sermon. I had forgotten that I had preached it in Larne, Co, Antrim, almost 6 years ago.

I was unable to really complete all I wanted to say in the pulpit back then and so I attached a fuller text article to the recording when it was mounted on the BB site in November 2017.

Its subject is so relevant that I am having the recording and the article remounted and also sending it out to our email readers.

I trust it is found profitable.

More 'unclean birds' gathered into the cage of evil!

“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird,” Revelation 18:2.

Pope confirms trans people can be baptised as Catholics

So reads the headline in a report on the new site of ‘Raidió Teilifís Éireann’, the Irish Republic’s national television and radio broadcaster, on November 9th, 2023.

Romanism is an ‘evolutionary’ religion! Like the Covid virus it is ever mutating!

God’s description of the final development of ‘Antichristianity’ or ‘Babylonianism’ is given us in Revelation 18:1-8.

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.”

Please note the descriptive phrase: “The habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird”. Gathered in under the auspices of that which God calls the “the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication”; the final manifestation of that which is the ultimate in ungodliness, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”, Revelation 17:5; there is every form and fashion of man’s rejection of God’s TRUTH and rebellion against God’s SON!

We see in Roman Catholicism, while it is NOT the final manifestation of Antichristianity, rather it is that which is a transitional form of the final apostasy of man. It is seen as a movement which gathers to itself “every unclean and hateful bird” of immorality and evil. Click to read more…

How wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

The Jordan River

“If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5.

These are the words of God to his complaining servant Jeremiah, who was feeling “the burden and heat of the day.”

Every harvest time in Israel of old, the Jordan overflowed its banks and caused severe flooding, which naturally endangered man and beast.

This annual event is here used to ask the question if the more common difficulties encountered on life’s journey were more than could be coped with, how will the swelling, surging floods of coming judgment be faced?

Sin brings upon men many and diverse difficulties and miseries. “Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted,”  Psalm 107:17. The truth of this statement is played out before our eyes every day!

BUT there is worse ahead for the sinner and rejector of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I. I THOUGHT OF THE ABOVE VERSE WHEN I READ THE MANY COMMENTS CONDEMNING ISRAEL FOR ITS RETALIATORY ATTACKS UPON GAZA.

Without in the least seeking to justify any illegal or inhumane act by the forces of Israel upon the supporters of the terrorism of Hamas in Gaza, it cannot be denied that the terrorists there, like the IRA here, use the civilian crowd and civilian property such as hospitals, as cover  from which they launch their murderous attacks. A miraculous escape from a terrorist bullet!

This report, taken from the Belfast Telegraph,  has brought back many memories of dark days long ago. The terrorist attack on Mountain Lodge Pentecostal Church in Co. Armagh took place on my 40th birthday, 8th November 1983.

The Kenny family lived a mere couple of hundred yards from us, on Garvary Hill, on the Tempo Road out of Enniskillen, when I was minister of Bethel FPC. I was familiar withMr and Mrs Kenny as part of the Christian community in Enniskillen.

The miraculous escape of Mrs Edith Kenny and her daughter and many others that night was a wonderful example of the mercy of God experienced by a multitude during those years of Irish Republican’s murderous terrorism.

It does not take too much insight to see the same spirit of murder at work in the recent Hamas attacks on the Jewish civilians in Israel on October 7th past.

(L to R) Son Ronald, Mrs Ronnie Kenny, Mrs Edith Kenny, with the plaster cover the wound left b y the bullet which struck her face, daughter Edith and her hymnbook whit the bullet hole.

Terrorism worldwide, irrespective of what name it goes under, is everywhere the spawn of the one who was a “murderer from the beginning,” John 8:44, the devil!

Here is that picture in the article of the Kenny family back then.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

The enemies of Israel should bear in mind the divinely inspired prayer which will, without a shadow of a doubt, be answered wonderfully by Heaven in God’s appointed time.

“Let them all be confounded‭‭ and turned‭‭ back‭ that hate‭‭ Zion‭.‭

‭”Let them be as the grass‭ ‭upon‭ the housetops‭, which withereth‭‭ afore‭ it groweth up‭‭:‭ ‭

“wherewith the mower‭‭ filleth‭‭ not his hand‭; nor he that bindeth sheaves‭‭ his bosom‭,” Psalm 129:5-7.

The Bible or ecumenical modernism - which?

This article touches upon the age-old satanic onslaught upon mankind by which the devil attempts to turn men from the truth of the gospel. Paul encountered that fact as soon as he began his missionary labours.

“And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, and said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord,” Acts 13:6-12.

It is to be noted that Paul dealt FIRST with the agent of the devil BEFORE Sergius Paulus was won to Christ!

I will be emphasising this element of God’s truth in this article.

The Lord bless you all richly,

THE CHRISTIANITY OF THE BIBLE OR THE ‘CHRISTIANITY’ OF ECUMENICAL MODERNISM — WHICH?

From the very beginning there has always been a counterfeit ‘faith’ and counterfeit ‘believers’!

Cain is, as it were, the ‘patron saint’ of ‘fake Christians’!

Please learn:

I. THE BIBLE REPEATEDLY WARNS OF DECEIVERS AND THEIR DECEPTION

I have mentioned Cain. It says of him, “And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD,” Genesis 4:3.1 Click to read more…

Tesco's corruption with a sweet taste!

These pictures were sent to me by a horrified granny whose daughter unwittingly bought these sweets in Tesco.

The newspaper link below is what I searched and found on the subject.

There is no end to the depths of corruption in society!

Newspaper article headline:

“NOT SO SWEET Jamie Laing blasted after his firm Candy Kittens sexualises sweets loved by children”

Here are some quotes from the newspaper article.

“Parents were left horrified after buying them for young kids who then read them the saucy description on the back of packets. It claims sweets and sex “go hand in hand”, celebrates “downright dirty times” and shows a “stay curious” Medical practice receptionist Carol complained to the gourmet sweets firm and was offered free normal packets as an apology.

“Medical practice receptionist Carol complained to the gourmet sweets firm and was offered free normal packets as an apology. The grandmother of five added: They didn’t seem to get my point. It’s dangerous in the world we live in.

“Have they not thought about the potential impact these words may have on vulnerable children?

“These should be withdrawn from shelves immediately.

“They’re sold in supermarkets next to Haribo. I’m baffled how anyone approved this as a good idea.”

We are watching society sink like the Titanic for our nation has been struck by the devil’s iceberg!

Let every reader of this email do what they can to send out a warning and a protest about this abominable product on the shelves of ’Tesco’.

I feel that it is time to return to small neighbourhood shops where our moral views are shared and cease shopping at such a place as Tesco, irrespective of the ‘bargains’ missed by doing so!!

Sincere regards,

Ivan Foster

The sins of the fathers visited upon the children

There is no Kilskeery Christian school assembly talk this week. The pupils are off on their mid-term break.

I want to think of children in a very different context in the light of God Word. I am referring to the little ones caught up in the terrorism and its aftermath in Gaza.

Irrespective of our inherent love of the nation from which our Lord Jesus Christ sprang and our abhorrence of the tactics and objectives of the Hamas terrorist group, we look with aching hearts at the many photos of the distress and fear etched on the faces of the children of Gaza, caused by the terror and suffering they are passing through.

I trust what I offer is a help to your understanding of the event in Israel, at least to some degree.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

THE SINS OF THE FATHERS VISITED UPON THE CHILDREN

“The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation,” Numbers 14:18.

These words were spoken by Moses as he interceded for rebellious Israel who were intent on further defying God in their bid to return to Egypt. The chapter begins with these words.

“And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt,” 1-4.

These words show the perverted ‘logic’ that springs from ignorance and unbelief. The rebellion and defiance sprang up amongst the people as the ‘spies’ returned from surveying the ‘promised land’. Click to read more…
