The bully and the coward

The following news items highlight what I believe is the increasing ‘bully-boy’ tactics of the ‘pro-everything that is against the teaching of the Bible’ brigade and the shameful cowardice of some professing Christians!

  • BBC news report: Dalriada Teacher apologises for ‘Darkest Day’ abortion reference
  • Belfast Newsletter report: Northern Ireland abortion: Dalriada School launches ‘critical incident’ probe into pro-life display

In this case a school teacher mounted a ‘hastag’ which is associated with those who are aggrieved at the recent imposing of ‘unregulated’ abortion legislation upon Northern Ireland, coupled with legislation that permits ’same-sex marriage’.

Both of these changes in the law are absolutely contrary to the fundamental teaching of the Bible, which is the very foundation and fabric of a true Christian’s faith.

The ‘hashtag’ in question is the made up of two words. They are ‘#Darkest Day’. This is a reference to the recent dark day when the imposed legislation came into power here in Ulster, October 22nd. The actual is ‘display’ measures a mere couple of inches and is almost unreadable in the picture of it mounted on the BBC website. Read more….

The cruel and obscene wickedness about to be imposed upon Northern Ireland.

Here is a brief quote from an article in the ‘Belfast Telegraph’ of 19th October 2019.

“Northern Ireland will be forced to scrap its Victorian-era abortion laws and legalise same sex marriage unless its two main political parties set aside their differences within the next 24 hours.

Earlier this year, Westminster passed a bill that would bring Northern Ireland into line with the United Nations’ rules on human rights, with the condition that this would only come into effect if the Northern Ireland Executive had not been restored by October 21.” Read more

The graveside joke that had everyone laughing at a funeral

The BBC, Northern Ireland website, among many others, carried a report of a recent funeral in Dublin. The report said:

“A dad’s message from beyond the grave has touched the hearts of thousands online. Shay Bradley, 62, had a dying wish that had his family and friends laughing at his funeral in Dublin. In a video that has received more than 136,000 upvotes on Reddit, the former Irish defence forces veteran pretends to be trapped inside his coffin and is heard knocking frantically, trying to get out. Coming from a speaker on the ground his voice boomed from his grave: “Hello, hello, hello… let me out!” There is then some swearing which sends the mourners into fits of laughter. He goes on to sing: ‘Hello again, hello. I called to say goodbye.’ Shay, who had suffered a long illness, organised the stunt around a year ago over lunch and recorded the message on a phone with the help of son Jonathan. Shay was banging on a coffee table beside him for the full effect.” Read more

An end to pathetic fumblings and blind floundering!

What we see developing before us here in this part of the world is, I believe, just what the Bible declares will take place in the end times.

I was struck in my daily reading recently by the words: “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days,” Daniel 2:28.

What was impressed upon my heart was the fact that a heathen king with no knowledge of God or His Word was nevertheless able to understand the prophecy that the Lord was about to reveal and yet, so many of God’s people today ignore this Bible topic, believing the devil’s lie, that it is too difficult to understand! Read more

Reading the time on the face of God’s clock Part 5: The utter rejection of God!

Man has ever been pressing toward the utter rejection of God but he has been restricted in his efforts at denial.

Genesis 11:1-9, is an illustration of this fact. Here man is recorded as defying God’s purpose, and that but a short time after the destruction of defiant and rebellious humanity in the days of Noah. Then, as here in this account, God hindered the attempt of ungodly men to initiate their own regime in preference to God and His order.

At the ‘Tower of Babel’ mankind was resolved on rejecting God’s command to repopulate the earth. “Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee. Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth,” Genesis 8:16-17. Kilskeery Conference 2019 messages

This year’s conference meetings marked the 70th anniversary 0f the special prolonged season of prayer over four days and nights held in the old Ravenhil church at which the Lord gave assurance that He had heard the prayer for revival. The answers to those prayers saw rich times of God’s blessing in the 1960s and 1970s in the Free Presbyterian Church.

The corruption at work in the heart of the FPC!

A message by Rev. Ivan Foster.

O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help, Hosea 13:9.

The word ‘destroyed’ in our text appears first in our Bible in Genesis 6:11. “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” The ailment that has ever wrought destruction amongst the people of God is that which was at work in Noah’s day – SIN! We must bear in mind that the Lord Jesus said that the circumstances which brought about the judgment of the world by the flood will return to dominate mankind just before His return! “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be,” Matthew 24:36-37. While no man knows the exact day of the Saviour’s return, we are given to understand the atmosphere which will develop just before that day – Rebellion against the word of God and violence!

I think we see just such an atmosphere developing WORLDWIDE today.

Sadly, it must be noted that within the professing Church of Christ this atmosphere is having its effect! Many Christians are persuaded to compromise with the trends of today in order to avoid confrontation and conflict with society. Read more and listen here...

The Ulster Protestant and the Williamite wars in Ireland Pt 6: The Protestantism of the Prince of Orange

A man’s faith is not displayed by one word nor is it destroyed by one act. Otherwise we must consider Judas a true believer and David and Peter false and empty professors.

William, Prince of Orange, was not a perfect man. Faults and sins are to be found by those who study his words and actions. Yet I believe it can be truthfully said that the general spirit of William’s words and life is that of a Christian Statesman.

Sam McBride: It is the DUP, not the EU, which has blinked – but Arlene Foster can’t admit that

Even in the world of politics, known for spinning and massaging the facts to suit, the DUP’s denial of a massive Brexit U-turn this week is audacious.

Three weeks ago, The Times’ front page reported that the DUP had handed Boris Johnson a lifeline by agreeing to “shift its red lines in a move that could help to unlock a Brexit deal”.

It reported that “significantly, the DUP has also said privately that it would drop its objection to regulatory checks in the Irish Sea, a measure that it previously claimed was unacceptable as it would separate Northern Ireland ‘politically and economically’ from the mainland.”
The paper said it had been told that the reciprocal move from Brussels would have to be an acceptance that Northern Ireland would not be remaining in the EU customs union.

The story was immediately met with a response from Arlene Foster which was intended to sound dismissive, but was in fact vacuous. Read more
