A rainbow crossing to where?

Rainbow crossing: NI’s first rainbow crossing unveiled in Londonderry

The first rainbow pedestrian crossing in Northern Ireland has been unveiled in Londonderry”

It links the Guildhall to the Peace Bridge with the aim of showing support for the city’s LGBTQ+ community The brainchild of the Foyle Pride Committee, it is also thought to be the first rainbow pedestrian crossing on the island of Ireland.

Jim Doherty, chairman of the Pride committee, said it would become a tourist attraction.

“It is in a brilliant location,” he told BBC Radio Foyle’s Mark Patterson Show.

“It is iconic, a good reflection of where we live.” He said there were similar crossings in other locations, including Berlin, San Francisco, and Camden.

“We thought it would be nice to have one realised here in Derry,” Mr Doherty said.

Earlier this year Derry City and Strabane District councillors unanimously agreed to fund the crossing after an approach from Foyle Pride.

Then mayor of the city, Brian Tierney, said he was “delighted to see it come to fruition in the heart of our city”.

The money for the crossing came from his mayoral budget.

He said Derry’s “vibrant LGBT+ community contributes so much to life in this city” and the crossing “solidifies Derry’s reputation as a welcoming place for everyone”.

Readers of this BBC report should note the little statement that is in bold type and which on the BBC website is a ‘live link’ to one of its reports back in May of this year.

The BBC back in May first broke the story of the decision by Derry City and Strabane District to paint this ‘rainbow crossing’ in Londonderry.

Here is what was reported in May regarding the ‘unanimous support for this crossing:

“Democratic Unionist Party councillor Hilary McClintock said the project was a ‘sign of inclusivity in our community’.

She said the party would not vote against the motion but suggested the money could have been spent on other priorities, such as mental health care provision.”

I have to tell DUP Councillor McClintock that this not so much a sign of ‘inclusivity in our community’ but rather yet further evidence that the DUP is ‘going with the flow’ that is taking the country down the road to hell!

A road crossing is meant to be a safe means of crossing the road and avoiding injury from road traffic. This crossing however, will encourage people to step out across the moral boundaries that God has immutably set for mankind. The marriage set forth by God is between a man and a woman. Anything other than this is unnatural and abominable.

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet,” Romans 1:26-27.

The DUP is ever more involved in this ‘evil movement’ which the Lord says He has given up. I warn afresh that every Christian who is linked to or in any way supportive of the DUP is in danger of that which is so plainly warned of in Revelation 18:4-5. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”

It is possible for Christians who defy God’s warnings regarding their remaining in contact with the wicked in the world today, to suffer the consequences God speaks of here. ‘That ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues’.

Christian, if you associate yourself with the sins of the apostasy, then it is inevitable that you will feel something of the plagues God will sent upon the rebellious!

Be warned Christian!
