It’s 2007 all over again but much further down the road started on by unionism back then!
It is quite amazing the degree of delusion and self-deception that abounds in Stormont Buildings today. Chief amongst the beguiled is the DUP party. As in 2007, they are afloat on the cloudy notions that their fresh sell-out of what remains of Unionism’s life and liberty here, will usher in a day of blessing and bounty for this province!
How such a thing could be in the wake of their scandalous climbdown and their peddling of such as that which a former Northern Ireland Attorney General and acknowledged ‘constitutional legal expert’, says is absolutely NOT what Jefrey Donaldson and his self-seeking cronies claim it to be!
Hailing a uniting together with the evil liberal views of the Ulster Unionist Party and the Alliance Party, both supporters of abortion, sodomy and LGBT+ perversities, the blatantly sectarian nationalists of the SDLP, and and all this that under the leadership of Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neil, as a prescription that bodes well for this land can only lead to utter failure and further misery.
The reader and believer of the Bible is better placed than the most acclaimed ‘political commentator’ to anticipate just where this evil political amalgam will take the country. The Holy Scriptures have many examples of such misguided forays by nations and the sad consequences. The Christian, in these days of confusion and claims and counter-claims, would be very wise to stay close to their Bibles. Far from being outdated and and irrelevant, it is away ahead of the times!
Let us ever heed the words of Isaiah. “Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it,” Isaiah 46:8-11.
In the light of God’s Word, the immoral collusion that is now sited in Stormont, though foolishly hailed and celebrated by the DUP, in conjunction with every hater of God and His people, is destined to bring forth disaster and misery for all.
It will yet be written over DUP headquarters: “The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!” Lamentations 5:15-16.
There can be no abandoning of the path of Biblical morality, no matter how such a step appears to promise greatness or how it is extolled by the ‘wise men and the powerful’, as the best way forward, without the direst consequences!
God’s way alone promises and will deliver eventual and eternal VICTORY!
Here is how it will end for the humble follower of the “narrow . . . way, which leadeth unto life,” found and travelled by but a ”few” (Matthew 7:14) and those who heed the instincts of the flesh and the devilish advice of men.
“Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all,” Revelation 18:20-21.
“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever,” Revelation 19:1-3.
What is at work today world-wide and particularly here in Ulster, is the ‘spirit of Babylonianism, or Antichristianity’. Paul said that, “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth (retains and curbs) will let, until he be taken out of the way,” 2 Thessalonians 2:7.
That working of evil, present amongst the nations since the fall of Adam and evident in the innumerable false religious systems ensnaring and dominating the minds and hearts of mankind, will be permitted of God to have its way to a fuller measure in the last days of this age!
As a judgment it will come upon those who reject God’s truth and embrace the lie of Antichrist, “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12.
If men could but see where their delusions will take them, they would hasten to obey the word of God, repent of their folly and cry upon the Lord for mercy!
Dear Christian, cling to the Bible. Fear not to bear reproach for the truth of God for “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself,” 2 Timothy 2:12-13.
May you find some comfort in these words.
