Request for prayer

A REQUEST FOR PRAYER OF THOSE WHO LOVE ‘THE OLD PATHS’

Dear Friends,

I would request prayer now that I have been charged with serious wrong-doing by our Presbytery.

My ’sin’ is doing that which I was called of the Lord to do, ordained in 1968 by our Presbytery to do and have been doing for the last 61 years. The stand I have been taking is obviously an offence to the members of the Presbytery who voted in favour of the charges being laid against me.

It must be seen that there is no longer approval by a majority in our Presbytery for such a witness!

I read this in the Psalm appointed for reading today in McCheyne’s Bible reading Calendar.

“But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me,” Psalm 86:15-17.

Sincerely in Christ’s name,

Rev Ivan Foster (Rtd)
