Here is what ‘contemporary worship music’ or ‘contemporary Christian music’ will eventually bring about!
I am grateful to the brother who brought this article to my attention.
Just as a tiny microbe may enter our body without us being aware of it, but soon it will manifest its evil impact and bring illness and even death, so a seemingly small error may enter the body of the ‘Church’ and, if not checked and dealt with properly and scripturally, bring down to ruin that church.
However, as is often the case, that meant to destroy the infection is resisted by our body and a cure is not affected.
We see that in our church at the present time, Contemporary Christian Music has been embraced by some. When an alarm was sounded by Rev David Dicanio, his timely and proper warning was resented and resisted and he was ejected by the foolish actions of misguided men.
Let all read the following article and take heed and then play their part in overthrowing the folly of brother DiCanio’s dismissal by the Free Presbyterian Church of North America, with the approval of many misguided Free Presbyterians here in Ulster.
Faithful ministers and elders, active in the affairs of our Presbytery, have a duty to act now.

EVANGELICALS AND CATHOLICS MERGING THROUGH CCM
Evangelicals and Catholics in Brazil are merging through contemporary worship music. Consider a recent Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) report “Amazing Salvation Numbers.” At first glance, it appears that there is a great turning from Catholicism to “evangelicalism,” but on closer examination, the evolving one world “church” comes into focus. On one hand, the percentage of Brazilians identifying as Catholic has fallen from 93% in 1950 to about 65% today. The biggest growth is found among Pentecostal-Charismatic churches. At the same time, the radical ecumenism of contemporary worship music is uniting Catholics and “evangelicals.” Contemporary worship artist Ana Paula Valadao, whose praise band Diante do Trono has sold more than 15 million albums, is at the center of this phenomenon. Her concerts draw massive ecumenical crowds, and her songs are featured in every type of church, including Baptist and Catholic. Priest Antonio Ferreira says, “Today, a growing number of Catholics are returning precisely because prayer meetings are conducted in a more Pentecostal style” (“Amazing Salvation Numbers,” CBN, Feb. 18, 2025). Nothing is facilitating the blending of Christianity more effectively than contemporary worship music, including that of Getty-Townend. Fundamental Baptists that are messing around with contemporary worship, “adapting it,” “toning it down,” are playing with fire. The leaders are the blind leading the blind.
