CRUMBLING BRITAIN!!
It is almost impossible to keep up with the visible evidences of the withdrawal of God’s kindness and mercy toward our nation, occasioned by the continuing and stubborn defiance of the Lord by the nation’s leadership, political and ecclesiastical, and its general population.
Blindness and ignorance of God’s truth has engendered the notion that we can ‘thumb our nose’ at the Lord and His truth, without any ramifications. That is most certainly not so!
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting,” Galatians 6:7-8. This warning was written some 2000 years ago but is imperatively true still today!
Of late there has arisen, suddenly and without warning as far as the general public are concerned but that which must have been known by various agencies of government for quite some time, a great alarm about the innumerable buildings which were constructed by using a ‘a cheap version of concrete, and which are now in danger of collapse.
As a result, belatedly, schools have been forced to close on the very eve of a new school year.
Some headlines illustrate the anger amongst the general public, especially parents of children affected by the closures.

The article with the headline last listed contains the following statement.
“The discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete, or RAAC, has forced the full or partial closure of more than 100 schools in England.
Many hospitals, courts and public buildings were built with the material.
Prof Chris Goodier, of Loughborough University, said the ‘scale of problem is much bigger than schools’.
‘It also covers much of the building stock in the country,’ he said. ‘This also includes health, defence, justice, local government, national government, and also a lot of the private sector.’”
The disruption and the cost arising from this ‘problem’ is incalculable!
Lying behind this looming catastrophe is greed, the inflated notions of men of their own expertise and an insatiable desire to do everything as cheaply and as quickly as possible, irrespective of the unconsidered risks and dangers!
Such ‘madness’ is the direct fruit of an overthrow of the truth that the Word of God has relevance for today. Thus the ‘only rule of faith and practice’ is abandoned and man launches out of life’s sea without the chart or compass which God has supplied. The words of the Psalmist are still absolutely true. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path,” Psalm 119:105.
The United Kingdom has, almost universally, forsaken the wisdom here expressed and has stepped out without light or guide. Hence the trouble it is now reaping on every hand!
The utter confusion that anyone with half a brain can see within society is a DIRECT result of the ‘church-led’ apostasy from God. Queen Victoria is credited with pointing to the Bible and declaring that IT was the secret of Britain’s greatness. Whether she did or not, such a statement was true in the past.
The opposite may be stated without fear of contradiction today. “The secret of the United Kingdom’s growing devastation and bewilderment is the abandoning of The Bible!”
I repeat what I have said in many articles. The day Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 3, has come upon us.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away,” 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
The society Paul here describes, is I believe, very different from the society into which I was born 80 years ago.
Ulster in 1943 was anything but perfect BUT the level of decency, the decree of reverence for the things of God and eternity, the concern for the welfare of one’s neighbour, was much closer to what is demanded of God in His Word, than is the case today. I don’t believe I can exaggerate the contrast between the nation then and now!
It is not just our nation that is crumbling but it is a world-wide feature. GOD is altering the order of things in His creation for things are drawing nearer the end of this age and that spoken of as the day when God will render vengeance to His enemies, and will reward them that hate Him, Deuteronomy 32:41.
The essence of the warning given by the Lord to Israel, is applicable to all the world today.
“But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it” Deuteronomy 30:17-18.
“PERISHING” is written large over our nation’s homes, offices, businesses, government structures and the ‘apostate churches’ of the land.
The time of the nation’s harvest of ruin draws on!
