We began to note the warning of deception that the Saviour gives in verse 11. It will be a time of increasing deception, 23-26.
Other writers warned of the same deceptions as did the Saviour. 1 Tim 4:1, 2 Tim 3:111; 2 Peter 3:3.

It is that period of time AFTER the world hears the gospel. Verse 14. I think that today more hear the gospel than at anytime in history. People from all over listen int to our little gatherings here in KICS!! Deception and lies are the devil’s response to the gospel! Today, the world is also filled with devil-inspired falsehoods meant to destroy the witness and effectiveness of the gospel! Many believe that what I am teaching you is heresy! So it was with Paul, Acts 24:14.

The word THEN (25:1) ties this parable into the subject matter and the events related by the Saviour in the previous chapter. There are a number of ‘links’ in the chain of events at the end of this age that the Saviour highlights. Please follow in your Bible the links that are to be found in the Saviour’s teaching.

To be continued DV.

We are considering the ‘time’ to which this parable related. ‘Then’ is how it begins and that points us back to the time that the Lord is speaking of in chapter 24.

In that chapter He is answering His disciples. “The disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matt 24:3. (the word is ‘age’ – Eph 2:7, Col 1:26)”

The end of this age/His coming again are the topics.

Note the warning of deception that the Saviour gives! Verse 4 – first words of the Saviour. They were going to face deception about the time of His coming, verse 11.

I want to look at some more verses which shows us how ‘watchful’ the early church was.
1 Thess 1:9-10. “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

Their waiting was very obvious!

Titus 2:13. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

James 5:7. “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.”

The word ‘patient’ reminds us that the early church was aware that the Saviour would be away a long time, Matthew 25:19.

I want to show you boys and girls that it is simple enough for you to understand and follow the prophecies regarding the return of Christ! You just have to take note of what is said in the Bible!

THIS PARABLE RELATES TO A SPECIFIC TIME

It is that time referred to by the disciples. “The disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matthew 24:3.

The topic under consideration. “The disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
