Is this how the Apostles honoured the Lord and set forth the Gospel?

March for Jesus gallery: Catching the atmosphere at the March for Jesus in Belfast city centre

I THINK NOT!

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance (hold one’s self off from, refrain from) of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23.

HOW DOES THIS DIFFER IN APPEARANCE FROM A WORLDLY ROCK CONCERT?

Only the wilfully blind will fail to see that there is in this event nothing short of that which is forbidden of the Lord, a ‘conformity to the world’ (Romans 12:2) in these scenes!

There is nothing about the ‘March for Jesus’ in Belfast that would indicate that it was of God or in keeping with that conduct He requires of those who seek to witness to His glory and majesty!

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him, Psalm 89:7.

For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the peoplegive unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth, Psalm 96:4-13

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty, Psalm 104:1.

“ . . . Let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire,” Hebrews 12:28-29.

The organisers of this event have not spoken the truth about its character. ‘Popery’ has always been linked to such events and that tells us that it is not of God!

Those supporting these marches are so spiritually ‘naive’ and ignorant of the teaching of God’s Word, adopted by historic Protestantism, that they swallow everything that comes their way!

Rome’s involvement is long established. This article, the link to which I have copied from the website of my good brother, Cecil Andrews’ — Take Heed Ministries’ records — shows how Rome was involved in a sister march in Dublin last year.

The article clearly indicates that Rome was very much involved in these marches, no matter what the likes of Pastor John Ahern, from All Nations Church, Dublin, may say!

Quote from the Roman Catholic Bishop of Waterford:

“The event, (Dublin march, 2024)which saw interdenominational Christian faiths come together, had been promoted by the Catholic Bishop of Waterford, Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan.

He said that the march would “show and shine the light of Jesus Christ,” and said that participants would march to Dáil Éireann, where “so many very sad decisions have been taken over the last few years – decisions which are not according to the mind of God.”

Any light that Rome is involved with is but ‘darkness’!

Sad Silence

Sadly, all too many ministers one would have expected to have taken a stand on this issue, are silent. They have watched many in their flock imbibe the falsehoods and notions that have given rise to such false movements as ‘March for Jesus’ and when the crisis comes, they are scared of causing controversy and so stay silent.

May the Lord save us from such wimpish cowardice in the pulpit and give us men who are “strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might,” Ephesians 6:10.

I count myself to have been highly favoured of God to have often accompanied Dr Ian Paisley during years when he lived and acted so, before his sad folly.

May we yet see a return of the Free Presbyterian Church he led in those glory days.

Godly Nehemiah, the rebuilder of the walls of Jerusalem, used a title of God when he prayed that clearly indicates that he had an attitude and reverence for the Lord clearly absent from this religious charade!

“And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, and said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible (He Who is to be reverenced and feared) God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments,” Nehemiah 1:4-5.
