Laugh yourself to heaven at Newtownbreda Baptist Church / Comedy Club

In this modernistic, liberal age, many forms of worldly entertainment have been brought in to try to attract a crowd.

These can be quite successful (though that is absolutely no excuse for employing them), as the popularity of churches like the Vineyard and various community / fellowship type churches has proven.

Mostly, it entails the introduction of worldly music with a thin veneer of Christianity from the worship bands.

However, a far more offensive to God form of worldly entertainment was brought into a Baptist church in Belfast on Sunday, 10th February.

For Newtownbreda Baptist Church brought in a stand-up comedian to take their Sunday night service two Lord’s days ago.

Yes, you are reading that correctly, this is not a joke – Newtownbreda Baptist Church became Newtownbreda Comedy Club for the night as a stand-up comic took the platform in this most modern, trendy, hipster of Baptist churches. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

‘Who cares if you’re Protestant or Catholic? Rome is an inspiration’, says Arch-apostate of Canterbury

In a shocking rejection of the precious gospel heritage the entire UK is blessed to have, when asked his opinion on Church of England vicars switching to Rome, the following is what this reprobate had to say:

“Who cares? I don’t mind about all that. Particularly if people go to Rome, which is such a source of inspiration.

“I had an email from a very old friend, an Anglican priest who has decided to go to Rome. I wrote back saying: ‘how wonderful! As long as you are following your vocation, you are following Christ’. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

‘If hell exists, it is empty’ – disgraceful claim of Presbyterian minister Rev Ernie Rea

In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph in the latest of the weekly feature on religious figures from Northern Ireland, Rev Ernie Rea propagated his heretical views on hell.

When asked if he had any fears about hell, he said: “If Hell exists, it is empty. A loving God could not condemn one of his children to everlasting fire.”

This statement is so spiritually misleading and theologically heretical that it is truly a disgrace.

One must wonder if he has ever actually read the Bible. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

Rend Collective to perform at ‘Christian’ camp celebrating the Papist Mass

The leading ‘Christian’ rock band Rend Collective (pictured) are to take the stage at three allegedly Christian summer camps which will offer the Roman Catholic Mass to those in attendance.

Rend Collective will perform at the Soul Survivor summer camps to be held in Peterborough and Stafford in England in July and August.

East Belfast Mission and Rev Andrew Irvine give themselves over to Rome

A former big shot on Belfast City Council, Rev Andrew Irvine has been brought on board at the East Belfast Mission to help boost its income.

And on Wednesday, 23 January, Rev Andrew Irvine engaged in his mean ecumenical compromise by preaching at a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan in County Armagh.

Rev Andrew Irvine was the speaker in the service in St Paul’s Roman Catholic church in the town.

How exactly such compromise can be justified is frankly remarkable. Read more on the Protestant Revival website.

The Bible-Believer’s response to the deepening apostasy

The synopsis of a sermon preached by Rev. Ivan Foster at a “Christian Watch” meeting in St John’s Wood Baptist church, London on Saturday 20th September 2003. It would appear from Ezekiel chapter 8: 1, that a conference of sorts had been convened in Ezekiel’s home. “And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.” Read more….

So-called ‘evangelical’ Bishop Harold Miller promotes unity with Rome

Every year in the latter part of January, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity takes centre stage in many of the ecumenical churches, and 2019 was no different.

Indeed, it was the subject of one of the first posts mounted on this page last year and, sadly, once again this year we have the sad duty of documenting the wretched compromise carried out in the name of ‘unity’ in many of the churches up and down our land.

We are aware of at least eight ecumenical events which took place in Northern Ireland throughout the week, though it is more than likely there were more. Read more

Evangelical Alliance document suggests providing “trans” accessible toilets in church

The ongoing madness engulfing the western world in relation to matters of gender has begun to infect the church, and the Evangelical Alliance has apparently made a concession to this ungodly movement.

In a document called ‘Transformed’, which was written by Peter Lynas, he writes that “providing toilets that are clearly accessible to trans people will be an important part of the welcome provided by churches and charities”.

This would certainly seem to be a recommendation that churches make moves to tolerate the so-called gender choices made by people who make up what is known as the “trans community”. Read more on the Protestant Revival website…

Sacred memories of glorious days

A special service held in Mourne Free Presbyterian Church, 11th January 2019.

Preacher: Rev. Ivan Foster

Whatever memories I have and which burn in my heart, it is impossible for me to convey to you with anything like the impact that I and others like me, experienced, when these events took place.

I am reminded of the old Scottish woman who, struggling to express her feelings and emotions following her conversion said to her minister that the matter was : “Better felt that telt!”

We are permitted by the wonderful mercy of God to walk with the apostles as they companied with the Saviour and witnessed His wonderful words and works and yet, even though those memories are recorded by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, they can and will convey little of the majesty and glory of those days without the blessing of God resting upon our reading of them. Read more and listen to the message here...

THE FORGOTTEN AND IGNORED ELEMENT OF MAN’S BEING – HIS ETERNAL SOUL!!

Dr. John Habgood

The great apostasy edges closer to its final and ultimate denial. That denial is given us in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4. “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

The same truth is found in Peter’s writings. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction,” 2 Peter 2:1.

The present apostasy will culminate in man’s outright denial of the Lord Himself and the Antichrist setting himself up as God.

The Christ-rejecting ecclesiastical world took a step nearer to that final apostasy in the mid-1990s with the denials voiced by Dr. John Habgood, the former Archbishop of York. He was reported in ‘The Times’ newspaper as saying that there was nothing in the human body that departs when we die. He claimed that the individual’s identity was “held in the mind of God”. He also said that hell was not regarded as a serious option these days. Read more

Why is Israel the centre of the prophetic earth?

The simple answer to this question is: God has placed it there. The course of events in this world have been predetermined by the Lord, as the following verses demonstrate. “For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done,” Acts 4:28. “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation,” Acts 17:26. (See also Ephesians 1:11, 3:11). Therefore when we see Israel at the centre of God’s dealings with mankind in the past, it is because He placed her there.

That Israel is at the centre of the prophetic world is clear, when we give consideration to the following truth. Read more

Apostolic ‘selfies’

The “Independent” newspaper reported on 8th July 2018, that, “Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte says he will quit if someone can prove God exists.” The proof the President required was “a selfie”, the modern term for “a photograph that is taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam.”

It is now more than two weeks since that news report appeared. When I read it my mental response was somewhat immediate for some of the texts I have listed in this article sprang into my mind, especially John 20:31. “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” The Bible is written to give documentary proof of the truth of the gospel in a style and manner acceptable in the 1st century and still employed in our courts today.

While I did not write an article right away, the matter came before me many times until I had to put pen to paper or rather, fingers to keyboard.

Here is the result. I am sending a copy to the Press Office of President Rodrigo Duterte with a request that it be passed to him.

Pray that it might be indeed brought to his attention and that God’s Word, as He wills, “shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it,” Isaiah 55:11. Read more

The Distress of Preaching God’s Word in a Day of Apostasy – A sad lament by a preacher to his mother!

“Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me,” Jeremiah 15:10.

This morning (July 19th) I read Jeremiah chapter 15 along with Judges 2, two of the chapters appointed for reading today for those who follow the Robert Murray McCheyne Bible Reading Calendar. Both these chapters highlight the tendency of God’s people to depart from the ways of the Lord as He sets forth in His Word and to eagerly enter the paths dictated by their own depravity. Read more

Christian Schools And The Future Of Free Presbyterianism

Recently, a visiting preacher said in a sermon in the pulpit of Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church, that the Free Presbyterian Church had “lost a generation of children”!

I believe that was most sadly true and the reason for it has been the failure to remove our children from under the tutelage of the state system of education. It has become the main instrument of the devil and his agents for the spreading of the rejection of everything God’s Word sets forth. Sodomy, transgenderism and every form of modern, depraved philosophy has found its way into the state’s curriculum and is imposed upon the minds of the young in the classroom.

This was warned of 40 years ago when the plans for first Independent Christian School was initiated but to a very large degree the Free Presbyterian Church chose to ignore the warning and what the visiting preacher stated is the result.

Here is a message, preached 32 years ago and widely circulated repeatedly within the Free Presbyterian congregations and much further abroad. Please read it here.

THE PERVERTED THINKING OF THE REJECTER OF THE BIBLE

“Ex-Moderator reveals anguish over Presbyterian’s (sic) same-sex row.” So ran the headline in the Belfast Telegraph of July 2nd 2018.

Last month, the Presbyterian Church in Ireland’s General Assembly decided that same-sex partners could not receive communion and their children could not be baptised in the Church. Former Presbyterian Moderator Dr John Dunlop, has spoken of his personal struggle with the issues of same-sex relationships in the Church in the wake of recent controversial decisions by its ruling body.

“There are many people in the Presbyterian Church who are happy with the decisions which have been made – but then there are other people who are LGBT, or their family and friends, who have found this very unsettling,” he said. Read more

The latest evidence of Dr Joel Beeke’s links with the dreadful apostasy of today.

I have recently been sent some web links that serve to show further evidence of how Joel Beeke is closely allied with the “Balaams” and “Elymases” of today.
