The growing isolation of Northern Ireland

The isolation of Northern Ireland from the rest of the United Kingdom has reached a new level, or as Jim Allister MP, rightly puts it, a humiliating stage.

Day of humiliation’ for UK as Irish Sea Border Control Post opened in Larne – Jim Allister

So runs the headline in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ of July 28th, 2025.

That which Irish Republicanism, the Roman Catholic Church and the anti-Protestant members of the British parliament, both Conservative and Labour, have long sought — the expulsion of Northern Ireland from the United Kingdom, is all but accomplished!

Jim Allister MP, leader of the TUV

‘The division of the United Kingdom under the Windsor Framework has been ‘cemented in’ by the opening of a new border control post at Larne, Jim Allister has said.’

‘On Monday, a new piece of Irish Sea Border infrastructure became operational at the County Antrim port – with Belfast due to have its facility put in place early next month.

‘The division of the United Kingdom under the Windsor Framework has been ‘cemented in’ by the opening of a new border control post at Larne, Jim Allister has said.

On Monday, a new piece of Irish Sea Border infrastructure became operational at the County Antrim port – with Belfast due to have its facility put in place early next month.

The Border Control Posts (BCPs) are a requirement of the post-Brexit trade deal between the UK and EU – and are designed to allow the EU to monitor what products are entering Northern Ireland, which is treated as a part of the European single market.’

‘As the All-Ireland Internal Market for Goods is defined by laws made by Dublin, and the rest of the EU, which are then simply imposed upon us, these Border Control Posts serve a wholly ignoble purpose. They are there to protect the ‘integrity’ of the consequence of our disenfranchisement and secure the disruption of our best economic interests as we are forcibly alienated from the greater part of what has been our home economy for goods for more than two hundred years.’

This amounts to an ‘expelling’ of Northern Ireland from the United Kingdom and it has to be said that the DUP aided and abetted this act of treachery! The DUP entered an agreement with the Conservative Government in 2024 by which a power-sharing executive, led by Sinn Fein/IRA was restored and out of that agreement sprang the ‘Windsor Framework’ and the ‘hiving off’ of Northern Ireland from mainland UK!

The DUP brought Sinn Fein/IRA into government back in 2007, as the price it was willing to pay in order to satisfy its craving for power. Now, in their blundering stupidity, under the leadership of Donaldson and Robinson, they have managed to do what generations of terrorism by the IRA could not achieve, that is, the severing, in effect, of Northern Ireland from the rest of the United Kingdom.

The Belfast Newsletter’ of 30th January 2024 reports that the DUP leaders assured unionist that all was well with regards the ‘Windsor Framework’. The deceitful fools that they are, they were but proffering yet another lie to their supporters!

Unionists must see that sending MPs to Westminster to lobby for us is a total waste of time. There is talk aplenty and feeble, bleating protests against the lies of London, but the ‘juggernaut’ of treachery and betrayal just rolls on!

The unionist voters who supported the DUP must share in the responsibility for what has happened here. Despite the DUP going back on the declarations made over decades regarding their opposition to Sinn Fein/IRA in government, they did just that in 2007. Furthermore, they reneged on their opposition to sodomy and repeatedly endorsed a sodomite council candidate in an election and have welcomed supporters of today’s immoral plague into their ranks in complete contempt for the Word of God.

Free Presbyterian Church

The Free Presbyterian Church is not guiltless in this matter either. Prominent members have supported the desertion of the ‘old paths’ by the DUP and continued to stand with its compromises and ‘going with the flow’ in itheir seeking of votes! Our Presbytery has not condemned such support.

Therefore it is not surprising that we see the judgment of God falling upon our land in the taking away of hard won rights and liberties, handed down to us by our forefathers.

Blindness

Christians have been blind to the growing evidence of heaven’s displeasure at the abandoning of the truth of God on many levels. There has been a stubborn rejecting of the many warnings issued against the ‘liberalising trends’ within our ranks and a wicked ignoring of the truth of God’s Word with regard to the disowning of that which we as a church covenanted before God to uphold.

What the DUP did in the political realm in its breach of trust has been copied by many within the Free Presbyterian Church. There has been a setting aside of the standards of holiness and righteousness and an embracing of the views and notions of the world on matters such as dancing, music and modesty of dress.

Judgment

It is inevitable that a sad and horrific day of divine wrath will follow such folly and defiance of the Lord. Such events as that reported here, is but evidence of the going out of the tide of mercy and divine favour, long enjoyed by the Protestant people of Ulster!

What may be said in truth to Christians in Ulster is that which Jeremiah wrote some 2631 years ago and which is part of the scheduled reading for today in ‘Robert Murray M‘Cheyne’s Bible Reading Calendar’.

“‭The word‭ that came to Jeremiah‭ concerning all the people‭ of Judah‭ in the fourth‭ year‭ of Jehoiakim‭ the son‭ of Josiah‭ king‭ of Judah‭, that ‭was‭ the first‭ year‭ of Nebuchadrezzar‭ king‭ of Babylon‭;‭ ‭the which Jeremiah‭ the prophet‭ spake‭‭ unto all the people‭ of Judah‭, and to all the inhabitants‭‭ of Jerusalem‭, saying‭‭,‭ ‭From the thirteenth‭‭ year‭ of Josiah‭ the son‭ of Amon‭ king‭ of Judah‭, even unto this day‭, that ‭is‭ the three‭ and twentieth‭ year‭, the word‭ of the LORD‭ hath come unto me, and I have spoken‭‭ unto you, rising early‭‭ and speaking‭‭; but ye have not hearkened‭‭.‭ ‭And the LORD‭ hath sent‭‭ unto you all his servants‭ the prophets‭, rising early‭‭ and sending‭‭ ‭them‭; but ye have not hearkened‭‭, nor inclined‭‭ your ear‭ to hear‭‭.‭ ‭They said‭‭, Turn ye again‭‭ now every one‭ from his evil‭ way‭, and from the evil‭ of your doings‭, and dwell‭‭ in the land‭ that the LORD‭ hath given‭‭ unto you and to your fathers‭ for‭ ever‭ and ever‭:‭ ‭and go‭‭ not after‭ other‭ gods‭ to serve‭‭ them, and to worship‭‭ them, and provoke me not to anger‭‭ with the works‭ of your hands‭; and I will do you no hurt‭‭.‭ ‭Yet ye have not hearkened‭‭ unto me, saith‭ the LORD‭; that ye might provoke me to anger‭‭ with the works‭ of your hands‭ to your own hurt‭,‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Jeremiah 25:1-7.

May the Lord yet show mercy and grant to us repentance and obedience even at this late hour, “‭For thou, Lord‭, ‭art‭ good‭, and ready to forgive‭; and plenteous‭ in mercy‭ unto all them that call‭‭ upon thee,‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Psalm 86:5.
