The words in whom have already occurred in verses 7 and 11. They refer to Christ and what is ours in Him. As verse 3 states;  all spiritual blessings . . . are  in Christ.
The two verses which comprise our text today, provides us with a chronology or a timetable of the work of grace within the child of God. It begins with hearing and ends with redemption.

I. THE HEARING OF THE GOSPEL
1. Notice the titles given to the gospel.
[1] The Word of Truth. Those who possess the gospel have the TRUTH! We are not engaged in a search for it nor do we need to gather the teachings of other religions in order to have the truth.
[2] Gospel of your salvation. It is the gospel that saves and may can give it this personal title. It is the gospel of MY salvation.
2. Notice its appropriation.  Trust, believed. Having accepted that its witness was true, the Christian trusted the declaration of the gospel. That is why rejectors of the gospel are charged with calling God a liar. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son, 1 John 5:10.
3. The subject of the gospel. Whom. It is Christ. The gospel invites us to faith in Christ even as Noah believed God and entered the ark.

II. THE SEALING OF THE SPIRIT
The working of the Holy Spirit within the soul of the believer is an ongoing work comprised of a succession of special acts. He carries out the work that is His under the terms of the Covenant of Grace by repeated exertions of His power on behalf of the elect. He enlightens, He convicts, He renews and He regenerates. The soul He regenerates He SEALS.
We know something of what it means to seal. (Envelopes etc.)
A seal is :—
1. An indication authenticity. The HS provides proof of the genuineness of the Christian. Rom 8:9, 14.
