This ‘NewsLetter’ article is dated 27th August and is worth a read.

I cannot endorse all that is written for there is no mention of the collusion of the Ecumenical Churches and the Church of Rome in the whole process of ‘sanitising’ the IRA’s terror campaign and in the aiding of the Republican terrorists to escape the castigation due for their crimes.

It is because of this that IRA glorifying Michelle O’Neill of Sinn Fein sits in Stormont, dictating as a result of the DUP’s greed for power and readiness to enter a ‘power-sharing’ arrangement with the cover-organisation of the IRA!

I personally witnessed that evil deceit at work in the aftermath of the ‘Poppy-Day Massacre’ in Enniskillen in November 1987 (see The Remembrance Day Massacre at Enniskillen).

At that time the four churches, the police and the British Government conspired to hide the true facts of Rome’s assistance of the bombers by her protests against any searching of property under her control before the ‘Remembrance Day’ parade to Enniskillen Cenotaph.

As a result, the IRA were able to conceal a bomb, timed to go off during the remembrance day wreath-laying, in a Roman Catholic church building right beside the Cenotaph.

All told, 12 Protestants were murdered and over 60 seriously injured in the blast.

That wicked scheming by the churches and agencies of the State has yet to be told.

However, there are valuable facts and figures in this article which should be noted.

The following letter was submitted to the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ in the early hours of this morning. It is a rebuttal of the deceitful letter the newspaper printed on Saturday from one, Gerry Cullen.

His letter is all part of the white-washing of Irish Republicanism and an attempt to ‘ennoble’ the murderer, Michael Collins.

Sir,

In the ‘NewsLetter’ of Saturday, 27th August, a letter appeared under the heading, ‘Michael Collins would not have backed later IRA murders’. The writer was a Mr Gerry Cullen.

The notion set forth by Mr Cullen would be laughable, were it not seen as part of the ‘sanitising’ of the murderous agenda of Irish Republicanism, both in the early and middle part of the last century. As such his letter is wickedly deceitful!

Michael Collins did not sign the ‘Anglo Irish Treaty’ in December 1921 in order to avoid the “inevitable sectarian slaughter of Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland”, as claimed by Mr Cullen.

Rather, he did so because on the night of December 5th, 1921, Lloyd George brandished two letters in front of the Irish delegation and warned them that a train was waiting at Euston Station and a destroyer at Holyhead to take one of the letters to Belfast to the Northern Ireland prime minister James Craig.

One letter stated that agreement had been reached between Great Britain and the Irish Republic; the other stated that the talks had broken down. In the latter case Lloyd George threatened there would be “immediate and terrible war within three days”.

That is what prompted Collins to sign! No one knew better than he that the IRA, enfeebled after years of conflict, would be utterly wiped out under such an unshackled assault by the British Army!

As he signed, he was heard to say, ‘I am signing my death warrant’. Collins was not prepared to sign his death warrant for the sake of the Protestants or Roman Catholics of Northern Ireland! He was thinking of others, himself included, facing the threatened British Army assault.

I will start this final study by thanking those who contacted me to thank me for the previous studies in Matthew 24 under the title of ‘The Beginning of Sorrows.’

These studies arose out my own consideration of the verse 8 and the fact that the Saviour indicated that the ‘Christian Era’ would be one of sorrow for the believer. It is not that the gospel brings grief to those who embrace it, for nothing could be further from the truth. What was said of Samaria upon the entrance of the gospel, may be said of individuals, communities and nations which embrace God’s truth as did Samaria. “And there was great joy in that city,” Acts 8:8.

But not all cities acted so. Things were different on at least one occasion in Ephesus. “And the whole city was filled with confusion,”Acts 19:29. That word ‘confusion’ refers to a riotous situation, not brought on by the gospel but brought about by the enemies of the gospel who sought by riot to stop it being preached.

So it has been over the last 2000 years.

THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS, Final Part

“All these are the beginning of sorrows,” Matthew 24:8.

Thoughts arising from my reading of this chapter as part of my daily reading and which form the final section of a brief study of Mathew 24:1-31.

There have been very few periods over the last 2000 years when sorrow did not feature darkly amongst the ranks of the godly. Even in times of revival blessing, those who served the Lord and preached His Word were treated shamefully. The histories of men such as the Waldenses, the Protestant Reformers, the Covenanters, George Whitefield and John Wesley testify to this fact.

This world has never had the wit to realise the greatness of the eternal good that it could enjoy if only it were to receive the message of Christ. Instead, it has treated the messengers with the ‘good news’ of salvation most abominably. In all too many instances they “had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth,” Hebrews 11:36-38.

Yes, sorrow has followed the gospel like a dark shadow but Christian, remember the words of Paul.

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body,” Romans 8:18-23.

Today, Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church marked its 48th anniversary since the opening of the hall which now forms the auditorium of the church building.

I was asked to preach at the special season of prayer in the afternoon, a feature of every anniversary over the last 48 years.

I am including two pictures of  the opening of the hall back on August 17th, 1974.

I received from a family member in Australia this morning the link to this article in ‘The Guardian’ newspaper of Wednesday 17th August.

I know that you will be interested in the news and rejoice that there are those who seek to oppose the dreadful apostasy of the Anglican Churches.

I think it fair to comment that while it is most welcome to see the stand against this sin that is taken by these folk, there seems to be no evidence of any real understanding of the Bible’s teaching on the latter-day apostasy.

Here are two examples of what the Bible says of the last days.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained,” 1 Timothy 4:1-6.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away,” 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

Was this truth understood and the departure of mainstream Anglicanism seen in this context, then there would be no question of it ever repenting and returning back to the truth of God, as Rev Peter Palmer would seemingly hold out some hope of. He is reported as saying: “If the leadership would repent and turn back to the teachings of the bible, we wouldn’t need the Diocese of Southern Cross. I’d shut it down and come back.”

There is no repentance or reformation for apostasy; it is ‘given up of God’. Click to read more…

Here is my fourth study in Matthew 24.

The Lord Jesus gave to His disciples a picture of the state of Christianity in the days just prior to His return.

There has been a very obvious decline and, as is always the case, error and the lies of the devil have enlarged.

In mercy to those believer who will be found in Jerusalem in those dark times, He issues a warning regarding the Antichrist and also directions regarding their response to that which will signal the start of the “great tribulation.”

I trust the opinion I give on verse 28 will prove to be helpful and edifying for you all, though I emphasise it is only my attempt at explaining a difficult verse.

In our last study, we considered how that the Saviour indicated to us all that in the midst of the darkness of the final years of this age, just before His return in glory and great power, there would be a faithful remnant upheld in the very heart of the ‘fire’ of tribulation, in the Antichrist’s dominion.

1. I repeat, while many will “wax cold”, others will “endure” and bear witness to Christ and His gospel. They will ‘bear patiently’ the trial that will beset God’s people. By their endurance the light of the gospel witness will be maintained.

So it has ever been. Paul said to Timothy: “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry,” 2 Timothy 4:5. Enduring affliction and doing the work of the evangelist have always gone hand in hand! Even in the best of times it has been so. The record of the labours of men such as George Whitefield and John and Charles Wesley testify to that.

Just before the end of this age, the “gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come,” Matthew 24:14. Click to read more…

“And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.  I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel,”  Amos 4:6-12.

We have all seen and heard the daily broadcasts by the news media, when commentators vie with each other as to who will sound the most dramatic and sensational in their reports of the extent of the natural disasters that are hitting many countries, not least the United Kingdom, especially the south of England and Wales.

There are reports from all over the world of drought, vanishing water supplies, uncontrollable forest fires, harvests lost through lack of water, fields of grain destroyed by fire, animals in distress because of thirst, likewise fish and other aquatic creatures suffering because of low river levels and a consequent drop in oxygen content. This week the 35th Annual Summer Seminar for Trainees & Probationary Teachers is taking place in Newtownabbey Independent Christian School.

Today, I was invited to speak on the subject: “What convinced me of the need for Christian Education”.

When I was finished speaking, I supplied the trainees with notes of my message and also of the original submission to Presbytery back in 1978, requesting permission to pursue the opening of Christian Schools.

The first school opened in September of the next year.

PARENTAL PSYCHOSIS

An article appeared in the London newspaper: ‘The Telegraph’ dated 6th August.  It had the headline:

‘I will not put my girls in that organisation’:  How a trans crisis engulfed Girlguiding

The crisis centres upon the claim “recent developments have left some parents fearing the needs of boys who feel they are female are being put above those of their daughters.”

“In its current summer newsletter, Girlguiding – the organisation formerly known as the Girl Guides – shares the real-life story of a recent recruit welcomed warmly into Rainbows, the organisation’s youngest tier for four-to-seven-year-old girls. The child in question – a lover of dolls and scarves and dresses, we are told, who wants to be called “Rainbow” – is biologically male, though his mother says in the article that his “true gender” is female.”

The article goes on:

“The circulation of ‘Rainbow’s story’ to the 290,000 girls between four and 18 who are members of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers has caused a storm of protest among parents. “I found it horrific reading,” says Catherine, a former nursery teacher and mother of three from north London, whose eight-year-old daughter is currently a Brownie. Nothing highlights the dreadful pit into which Ulster has stumbled under the leadership of false prophets and hireling politicians than the arrogant and shamefull claims of Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill and her defence of IRA terrorism.

What a betrayal the DUP are guilty of when they entered ‘power-sharing’ with murderers, back in 2007 and which they blindly persist in still!

Sinn Fein’s Michelle O’Neill said she believed there had been no alternative to IRA violence during the Troubles

Victims of terrorism have challenged Michelle O’Neill’s claim that there was “no alternative” to Provisional IRA violence during the Troubles.

What this evil woman is saying is that the murder of hundreds of innocent men, women and children, Protestant and Roman Catholic who died at the hands of Michelle O’Neill’s compatriots, had to die, there was no other alternative as far as Sinn Fein is concerned.

Holding the office of Vice President of Sinn Fein and coming from a family which is steeped in IRA terrorism — her father, Brendan Doris, was a Sinn Féin councillor and IRA member who served time in prison — it is not surprising that she upholds and seeks to justify the decades of IRA terrorism, the murder of hundreds of innocent victims, the bombing and the destruction of £millions of public property, kidnapping and innumerable robberies and other acts of terrorism too numerous to mention!

What is more, as one whose whole career is one of setting forth lies of falsehoods, it is nothing new for her and her ilk to talk out of the side of their mouth in order to try and justify the unjustifiable! Click to read more…

“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life . . . . . . The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city,” John 4:14, 28.

Preached by Rev Ivan Foster when minister of  Bethel Free Presbyterian Church, May 6th, 1973.

True conversion is never a matter of chance, no matter how it may appear so to men! It is no mere ‘fluke’ that brings about an encounter between the SINNER and the SAVIOUR. The Lord Jesus was ever SEEKING the lost. He, in His search, deliberately planned confrontations with sinners. This is plainly seen in the passage we read, (John 4:1-26, 39-42).

The Lord Jesus selected the PERSON. The Lord Jesus selected the SITUATION. The Lord Jesus selected the TIME. The Lord Jesus selected the CONVERSATION. The Lord Jesus chose to REVEAL HIMSELF. “Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he,” verse 26. FIRST and LAST salvation is of the Lord!

In His conversation with this woman, Christ pinpoints the two great areas of ignorance in mankind, verse 10. “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” Mankind is IGNORANT of the GIFT and GIVER.

Tonight I wish to show what the Bible teaches us about the GIFT and GIVER.

God’s gift of salvation is likened unto a WELL OF WATER. “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life,” verse 14. Popular priest behind atrocity that even IRA was ashamed of

RUC believed Fr James Chesney played major part in 1972 Claudy bomb massacre that left nine dead

So read the headline in a ‘Belfast Telegraph article marking the 50th anniversary of the infamous ‘Claudy Bombing’ by an IRA gang, led, it is commonly believed, by a Roman Catholic priest, one James Chesney.

Had this been an incident in which a loyalist terror group, led by a Protestant minister, set off three car bombs which resulted in the murder of 9 people and the injuring of 30, then the headlines and the general reaction would have been very different indeed.

The Pope would have appeared on his balcony to conduct the chorus of hatred and propaganda against Ulster Protestants. The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland in company with the ecumenical churches, would have most diligently joined in this world-wide cry. The Westminster Government would have been on its knees in commiseration and a weeping prime minister would have offered his deepest sympathies along with £millions in compensation.

Most importantly, to a man, God-fearing Ulster Protestants would have outrightly condemned such an act for it has no place in Bible Protestantism!

Two news reports have been brought to my attention which need to be considered by Christians and the matters raised need to be prayed and protested against by all who would seek to honour the Lord.

First of all here is yet another reason for Independent Christian Schools!!

Sex education in schools could be made compulsory by NI secretary

“The Northern Ireland secretary says he will consider introducing compulsory relationship and sex education (RSE) in schools if the Department of Education does not.”

The schools referred to are the ‘state schools’.

But will anything arouse and alarm Christian parents who happily send their offspring to such?

Here is another report.

There has appeared one more appeal on behalf of the perverts of the LBGTQ, (who can keep up with this ever enlarging acronym) from one, ‘Gareth Hanna’ in the ‘Belfast Telegraph, a newspaper all too ready to provide space for the promotion of such wickedness!

It appeared yesterday and a link to the article was sent to me by a friend. The article goes under the heading:

Why it’s time more NI Christians came out as LGBTQ+ affirming

It would appear that the writer would have us believe that he has some form of connection with ‘Christianity’, but in truth his writings and arguments in the article indicate plainly that he is as ignorant of God’s Word as a ‘sow going to hoke’! Click to read more…

I could not but comment on this news report which appears in today’s ‘Belfast Telegraph’, under the headline:

“LGBT Church of Ireland group welcomes change on same-sex marriage statement”.

It ought to have been headlined: “Church of Ireland afflicted with same terminal disease as the Church of England and they now share the same deathbed”

The article begins: “A change from the Anglican Communion on its statement around same-sex marriage issues has been welcomed by a group which represents LGBT members within the Church of Ireland.”

The article then continues: “Ahead of the Anglican Communion’s Lambeth Conference – the first in Canterbury for 14 years – organisers scrapped a statement that reaffirmed the conference’s historic stance against same-sex marriage, BBC NI reports. Click to read more…

“‭And the LORD‭ shall guide‭‭ thee continually‭, and satisfy‭‭ thy soul‭ in drought‭, and make fat‭‭ thy bones‭: and thou shalt be like a watered‭ garden‭, and like a spring‭ of water‭, whose waters‭ fail‭‭ not.‭ ‭And ‭they that shall be‭ of thee shall build‭‭ the old‭ waste places‭: thou shalt raise up‭‭ the foundations‭ of many‭ generations‭; and thou shalt be called‭‭, The repairer‭‭ of the breach‭, The restorer‭‭ of paths‭ to dwell in‭‭,‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Isaiah 58:11-12.

The above verses were impressed upon my heart in 1966, while a student in Whiteabbey Free Presbyterian Church, which later became Newtownabbey Free Presbyterian Church.

I freely confess that in unbelief I felt that I could not claim such a glorious promise as being for me from the Lord.

It was many, many years later that these words, though never forgotten, were applied with power to my heart and gave me some understanding of the task given me in the later years of my life.

Some time ago I mentioned to our readers that I had in mind a target of 1,000,000 visits to “The Burning Bush” website as a ‘line in the sand’ to indicate that it was time to wind down the witness for God’s truth which has been running, in one form or another, since March 1970 when the first printed edition appeared.

Now I have reached that point. All told of course, far more than 1,000,000 people have been reached with the voice of protest of “The Burning Bush”. Thoughts arising from my reading of this chapter as part of my daily reading and which are the third section of a brief study of Mathew 24:1-31.

I hope to continue the study on a weekly basis.

The bullet-scared Jaffa Gate, the result of the battle for Jerusalem when it was reunified by the Israeli army in the ‘Six-Day War in 1967.

In our last study we considered how that ‘the beginning of sorrows’ would lead on to the full harvest of sorrow and that it would be the Jews in Jerusalem who would chiefly suffer in that time of the ‘great tribulation’ at the end of this age, just before the Saviour returns in glory.

1. The Saviour makes clear in verses 9-14 just how the ‘sorrows’ will commence and what it will entail in its early stages.

“‭Then‭ shall they deliver‭‭ you‭ up‭‭ to‭ be afflicted‭, and‭ shall kill‭‭ you‭: and‭ ye shall be‭‭ hated‭‭ of‭ all‭ nations‭ for‭ my‭ name’s sake‭.‭ ‭And‭ then‭ shall many‭ be offended‭‭, and‭ shall betray‭‭ one another‭, and‭ shall hate‭‭ one another‭.‭ ‭And‭ many‭ false prophets‭ shall rise‭‭, and‭ shall deceive‭‭ many‭.‭ ‭And‭ because‭ iniquity‭ shall abound‭‭, the love‭ of many‭ shall wax cold‭‭.‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Click to read more…

I was sent the following article and would wish to make one observation based upon one criticism of the rugby players who refused to wear these ‘pro-sodomy’ jerseys.

I have in the past stated that it is wrong for a Christian to turn out for any sports team which is supported by the booze and betting trades. However, bad and all as this is, it falls short of donning regalia which openly supports the ever-spreading abomination of sodomy! God certainly draws a distinction between sodomy and all other sins. I believe that it will receive the severest of all punishments on the day of eternal retribution, with the exception of the sin of rejecting the gospel of Christ.

This the Saviour states in Matthew11:23. “‭And‭ thou‭, Capernaum‭, which‭ art exalted‭‭ unto‭ heaven‭, shalt be brought down‭‭ to‭ hell‭: for‭ if‭ the mighty works‭, which‭ have been done‭‭ in‭ thee‭, had been done‭‭ in‭ Sodom‭, it would have remained‭‭‭ until‭ this day‭.‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Jude highlights the dreadful wickedness of sodomy. “‭Even as‭ Sodom‭ and‭ Gomorrha‭, and‭ the cities‭ about‭ them‭ in like‭‭ manner‭, giving themselves over to fornication‭‭, and‭ going‭‭ after‭ strange‭ flesh‭, are set forth for‭‭ an example‭, suffering‭‭ the vengeance‭ of eternal‭ fire‭,‭”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ Jude 1:7.

The destruction visited upon those cities, surpassing all other manifestations of God’s wrath, is meant to be an example, a pattern, of the vengeance awaiting those guilty of this wickedness. Click to read more…

I was notified by a friend and reader of ’The Burning Bush’ that the following tweet had appeared on the internet.

That was mounted 2 hours ago (about 9.00 pm) and I just saw that the BB site has had over 1100 hits and the number is rising steadily!!

(1260 as I send out this email).

That is what you call ’shooting yourself in the foot’! I hope it really hurts 😊.

The article he is complaining about is:

The blinded mind of a sodomite

May many benefit from this ‘advertising’ of the BB by this supporter of perversion.

He claims that what I wrote about him was ‘homophobic.

That is untrue if he is claiming that I was inciting hatred against those of his perverted persuasion.

However, I certainly would incite hatred against ‘sodomy’ of which Michael Palmer is a supporter.

In hating such a sin I am following in the footsteps of the Psalmist.

“Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way,” Psalm 119:104.

“Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies,” Psalm 139:21-22.

More importantly, I follow my Saviour Who said:

“But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate,” Revelation 2:14-15.

The Saviour ‘commends’ the hating of the doctrines of the ‘Nicolaitans’, a 1st century heretical sect.

There are things and practices which Christians are exhorted to hate by the Lord.

Be that as it may, whatever the Christian may feel about sodomy and related perversions, it is nothing to the expression of wrath that the Lord will manifest in that day referred to in Romans 1:18.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

This the second article containing comments I have penned on Matthew 24:1-31.

I would consider this portion of God’s Word as one of the most important and relevant section of the Holy Scriptures for this day in which we live!

It speaks of those events leading up to the final seven years of this age and then goes into even greater detail regarding the second half of that season, the last three and a half years, or as they are referred to in the Bible, a thousand two hundred and threescore days, the time, times and half a time and the forty-two weeks, Revelation 11:2-3, 12:14.

I trust that you will be helped by what is here written.

Let us come to the words of this verse, which forms the basis of our study.

1. The meaning of the word ‘beginning’. The word carries the meaning of ‘the origin’. It first appears in the New Testament in Matthew 19:4. “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” Matthew 19:4.

From that act of creation, very much has sprung! Likewise, that is what the Saviour is indicating. The wars, famines, pestilences and earthquakes will give rise to very great sorrow.

2. This age is to end in sorrow and suffering. That is what sin and rebellion against God brings! “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death,” James 1:15. Click to read more…

If like me you use Robert Murray M’Cheyne’s Bible Reading Calendar, then you will see that Matthew 24 is part of the schedule for today.

My reading again of this portion brought me much joy and prompted me to consider the words in verse 8: “All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

As is my habit, I was prompted to start making a few notes and this developed into the following study which I hope to continue on a weekly basis.

I can but pray that the Lord is pleased to bless it to your comfort, edification, joy and spiritual benefit.

THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS, Part 1

“All these are the beginning of sorrows,” Matthew 24:8.

Thoughts arising from my reading of this chapter as part of my daily reading today and which are the first section of a brief study of Mathew 24:1-31.

I hope to continue the study on a weekly basis.

Like so many of God’s people throughout the ages since Matthew recorded these words, I have delighted in this chapter. Yet, it is a chapter which all too many have misunderstood and made the basis of false notions. The lack of clarity of the Word of God is not to be blamed for this nor would we be correct in concluding that such error arises because God’s Word is hard to be understood. It is our foolish tendency to jump to conclusions without due consideration that causes misunderstanding and folly. The ‘golden rule’ of Scriptural interpretation is “rightly dividing the word of truth”. That is, “comparing spiritual things with spiritual,” 1 Corinthians 2:13. Thus we will be led to an understanding of ‘the mind of the Lord,’ 1 Corinthians 2:16.

I have ever rejoiced at the Saviour’s readiness to answer the questions of His disciples. “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you,” Matthew 24:3-4.

Please note:

1. These questions arose from the Saviour’s troubling disclosure.

“And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down,” Matthew 24:2. Men have ever loved the OUTWARD symbols of religion. Even among true Bible believers the outward may take the place of that of which it merely is a witness. While listening to the unfolding of events in London today, with Boris Johnston resigning his post as Conservative Party leader and Prime Minister in humiliation and ignominy, I was reminded of the wonderful old text of God’s Word.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap,”Galatians 6:7.

I noticed that he described the system of politics here as ‘Darwinian’ and that it would continue and provide leadership for the nation.

If only he realised how ironically true his words are. ‘Darwinianism’ is another name for the false notion of ‘evolution’, which claims that things are improving and getting better. The opposite is the case of course, as the testimony of every graveyard declares.

Boris will be followed by one who will prove and even greater failure.

So says the Word of God.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived,”2 Timothy 3:13.

A ‘New Step’ – DOWNWARD!!!

Further evidence of the DUP’s pandering to that cursed of God!

The headline below, which  appeared in the ‘Belfast Telegraph’ of 5th July, was drawn to my attention late last evening.

The article that it adorns illustrates afresh the slide of the DUP away from God’s Word and into the depths of wicked defiance of God.

The movement represented by the initialism, LGBTQ+, is a concoction of moral corruption and deviance, the members of which openly and unashamedly debase themselves by flaunting their spiritual delinquency and in consequence are defined by the Lord as ‘given up’ and given “over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient (fitting).” They are called ‘haters of God’, (Romans 1:26, 28, 30).

Such degenerates the DUP is prepared to more and more embrace and endorse their evil campaign of debauched rebellion.

Now there are those in the DUP who do not agree with such associations. Of this I have no doubt. But when the party leader wholeheartedly welcomes and encourages such an evil alliance, then it has to be said such is the ‘established’ policy of the party and all who are in membership are tainted with this wickedness before God.

It is a Biblical truth that those who remain within a corrupt and evil organisation become guilty before God of the crimes of those with whom they company and will share in the judgment that must follow. Click to read more…

LGBT figures lobby for clamp down on anti-gay preaching after charges dismissed in two prosecutions

LGBT figures have called for a clamp down on street preaching against homosexuality – after a Banbridge man was acquitted of criminal charges twice in one week.

So began an article by reporter Philip Bradfield in which the “News Letter” invited a number of LGBT stakeholders to respond to the above developments..

It’s opening paragraph reads:

“Banbridge man Ryan Williamson, 44, was arrested in Larne and Dundalk last August and September respectively after preaching against homosexuality and was charged with public order offences. However his defence lawyers successfully defended him from all charges on 27 and 22 June respectively, citing his European Convention Human Rights of freedom of expression and association. Two associates, Sean Paul Tully and Robert Ervine, were also arrested and cleared in Dundalk.

In the same week, the outgoing Presbyterian Moderator told that “we will not rewrite” the Bible on issues such as same sex marriage and transgenderism.”

“But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly,” Genesis 13:13 — “Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground,” Genesis 19:24-25.

Regent Street in London bedecked with ‘Gay Pride’ flags for the first time in history and paid for by the Crown Estate. It has commissioned 100 Pride flags to hang above the street to mark ‘London Gay Pride’ parade this weekend! The Crown Estate is an independent commercial business, created by Act of Parliament. The Crown Estate belongs to the reigning monarch ‘in right of The Crown’, that is, it is owned by the monarch for the duration of their reign, by virtue of their accession to the throne.

A PICTURE OF THIS PRESENT TODAY

The verse: “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly,” Genesis 13:13, pictures for us the state of this wicked rebellion today in our land. Sodomy was always a perversion found amongst the pagan nations of the world and the reprobate elements amongst those professing faith in the true God. That is seen in that the Lord had to warn His people to avoid utterly such a sin. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination,” Leviticus 18:22.  The Lord adds the final warning about all the abominations He had strongly censured in the foregoing verses. “Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) that the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people,” Leviticus 18:24-29.

The word that the Lord uses regarding His reaction to such sins: ‘vomiteth’, verse 25 and ‘spue & spued’, verse 28, is a clear indication that the Lord cannot tolerate such behaviour. In His mercy, He is longsuffering today as He was in the days of Noah (Genesis 6:3). Peter refers to God’s longsuffering in 1 Peter 3:20. “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.” Click to read more…

This is the concluding sentence of a letter which has appeared in today’s (1/7/22) ‘Belfast Newsletter’. It is from a sodomite member of the Ulster Unionist Party, who signs his name, ‘Michael Palmer’.

“I appeal to the DUP leadership to consider allowing its members who are supportive of the LGBT community to attend Belfast Pride. The future of unionism and the union hinges upon LGBT support.”

That there are LGBT supporting members of the DUP may be seen in the endorsing of one who openly acknowledged her perversion as a candidate in the last local council election back in 2019 and who presently sits as a member of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. She is Alison Bennington who became the DUP’s first openly ‘gay’ candidate to be elected when she won one of 14 DUP seats on that Council.

But there are many other ‘supporters’ of the LGBT  perversions in the DUP as subsequent events and photographs of rejoicing DUP members at her election showed.

Robbie Butler MLA, is the Deputy leader of the Ulster Unionist Party. He is a professing Christian and has links to the Elim Pentecostal Church.

He is but one of the many who profess allegiance to Christ, in the UUP and the DUP, but who can remain silently in a ‘sodomite endorsing’ organisation! Click to read more…

These two articles from the ‘Belfast Telegraph’ highlight the abominable and hypocritical character of the leading figures within the Sinn Fein/IRA movement. They were lauded as ‘peace-makers’ and heralded as leaders to be followed, when in truth they were amongst greatest murderers and criminals in Ireland, north and south.

The Democratic Unionist Party is guilty of helping to spread the lie regarding Martin McGuinness, who was a cold-blooded mastermind of murder, when they entered a power-sharing arrangement with Sinn Fein/IRA which resulted in him being appointed as Deputy First Minister in Stormont back in 2007.

The curse of God has been upon the Unionist cause ever since the endorsement that arrangement received from the Unionist people!

The Bible declares the fate of such as these two:

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death,” Revelation 21:8.

Being the subject of innumerable republican hero-worshipping ballads will not spare them from this terrible fate.

The details have been disclosed by Eddie Gallagher, who had been an IRA member from Donegal.

A letter from Richard Ferguson

“Belfast Newsletter’, Monday, 27th June 2022.

Sir Henry Wilson was, as Jonathan Buckley points out (‘Honouring a war hero,’ June 23, see link below), “murdered by cowardly IRA terrorists”.

In like manner so too were hundreds of members of the Ulster Special Constabulary (USC), RUC, UDR and Northern Ireland Prison Service murdered by cowardly IRA terrorists.

There is however one significant difference between the terrorists who murdered Sir Henry and those who murdered members of the security forces in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Those who murdered Sir Henry received the just reward of their deeds, both gunmen being convicted, sentenced to death and hanged.

Their successors in PIRA however, rather than facing the full rigours of the law, have been elevated to the heart of government in Northern Ireland. Such is the abominable out working of the Belfast/St Andrews agreement.

Regrettably I must remind Mr Buckley that it is he and his party who have been the chief implementers of that sordid system of government that sees terrorists rewarded with the highest offices of the land.

Honouring war hero who was murdered by the IRA a century ago is least we can do

Below are two reports from today’s ‘Belfast Newsletter’, sent to me by a very good friend of our witness who I can’t say that I have ever met, one report being good and the other abominable.

The men who were arrested last August for preaching against sodomy and like perversion, in Larne, Co. Antrim, have been declared innocent of the charges brought by the police. This court decision follows a like decision regarding a similar charge brought against the same men in a Dundalk court in the Republic of Ireland. There the charge was likewise dismissed some days ago.

The only dissenter was a renegade papist priest, Pat Buckley who represents no one but his own perverted views.

“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come,” Isaiah 57:1.

Reading this verse today, it occurred to me that little real thought has been given to the meaning of this verse and its clear implications.

Every true believer is concerned with the very obvious decline in the number of those who adhere faithfully to the Word of God and openly stand for righteousness. The word ‘perisheth’ in our text carries the figurative meaning of ‘vanishing away’. Christians are ‘vanishing’ from society. The believer can plainly see this taking place. They are not deceived by the swelling ranks of those who ‘profess’ godliness but recognise it as a religion that can easily set aside any portion of God’s Word which they consider inappropriate and unsuited to them.

That is not the religion of Jesus Christ! “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them,” Isaiah 8:20.

Now while there undoubtedly is an increase in the ranks of such false and empty ‘Christianity’, I believe we must acknowledge that there is a very obvious decline in the numbers of those who seek to believe the whole Bible and witness to others of its message.

The above verse deals with that which we see before us today, Christian.

I. THE IGNORANCE OF MAN AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND HIM

Isaiah says: “The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.” Note the words “no man layeth it to heart” and “none considering”. It is worth a read.

But to return to the article upon which I wish to make a few comments.

The article in question  highlights the very evident presence of ‘jackasses’ in the pulpits of churches that profess to be Protestant.

There is no greater evidence of the utter folly, upon which the Protestant people attending such churches as those of the ilk of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, are being fed!

The minister of that church advertises his cretinous character in the picture published in the article! He looks like a refugee from some pagan festival, in complete contrast to the exhortation of Holy Scripture. “Let us watch and be sober (circumspect),” 1 Thessalonians 5:6.

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine,” 2 Timothy 4:1-2.

It was once said to me that ‘you cannot scold people into revival!’ That remark was prompted by my seeking to obey the sentiments of the text above!

‘Rebuking sin’ and those who engage in it, both privately and sometimes publicly if necessary, is an essential and integral part of preaching God’s Word.

Again I refer to the text above.

Many ministers in modern evangelicalism, seeks to provide a ‘feel good factor’ for those attending their services. Without doubt, where such a course and objective is sought, numbers will increase. I believe in these, the last days, consisting of ‘perilous times’, ( 2 Timothy 3:1) faithful preaching may well fail to fill pews where the ‘gospel of feeling good’ may succeed!

Such ‘comfort zones’ are but the product of those evangelical preachers who see their mission as that of filling the church and being popular. I believe a survey of churches where it is seen that numbers are increasing, will invariably show that such an approach has been adopted by the minister.

I am not referring to places of worship where there is outright Bible-denying sermons. No, I am referring to places which fit well within the evangelical and orthodox camp!

Such places avoid controversy like the plague! There is, to a very large degree, an avoidance of any outright, downright and unmistakable denouncing of the evils and failures of today’s professing evangelical Christians. Click to read more…

A leading article in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ of today (18th June 2022) has the headline: ‘Splintered unionism’ to blame for lost seats, insists DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson’.

This is a statement of the obvious by a man who would lay the blame on those who wish to maintain ‘traditional’ Unionist values in the face of the departures from the paths of truth and righteousness by his party, the DUP.

It was the DUP which ‘split’ away from those truths which had formerly been the basis of Unionism. That split came when the DUP, for the most self-seeking, self-promoting and egotistical of motives, entered an arrangement with those guilty of support for and involvement in over forty years of ruthless terrorism, which saw hundreds of innocent Protestant and Roman Catholic civilians slaughtered as well as members of the security forces guilty of carrying out only their duties. Seeing this letter in today’s ‘Belfast Newsletter’ I thought that I might draw your attention to it.

There can be no doubt that Sinn Fein still harbours the spirit that gave rise to the slaughter in Altnaveigh, outside Newry, Co. Down, 100 years ago.

The merciless murders in the last ‘troubles’ are celebrated still by Sinn Fein, led by Michelle O’Neill, who is now vying to become ‘First Minister’ as a result of the ‘power-sharing’ agreement the DUP entered into with Sinn Fein/IRA in 2007!

On 17th June 1922, the IRA, in the early hours, attacked Protestant homes and burned them, with 6 members of that small rural community being brutally murdered.

The man who led the IRA group, Frank Aiken, later became a Dublin government minister and served as the deputy Prime Minister from 1965 to 1969 and Minister for External Affairs from 1951 to 1954 and 1957 to 1969.

Obviously Dublin had no feelings of regret for the actions of this murder!

A few comments on the ‘Protocol’ issue may be in order since new legislation may well be announced by Westminster today.

The roots of the controversy are buried beneath the ‘soil’ of much incomprehensible comment and argument over the last couple of years.

This is no attempt at an analysis of the legal aspects of the ‘Protocol’ but rather a seeking to remind us all of that out of which the whole matter has sprung.

So a ‘Daily Express’ article begins.

This is bullying of the same ilk as that practised by the IRA – the threat of ruthless retaliation if their demands were not met!

For years the IRA went about Northern Ireland, mostly at night, and by the threat of slaughter by the bomb and bullet forced from a weak and contemptible Westminster government a surrender deal yielded to by compliant and self-seeking Unionist politicians. It was a surrender which gained a place in the government of Northern Ireland for Sinn Fein/IRA.

I had to respond to the article below: we have reproduced the full wording of an article in ‘The Irish News’ of today, Friday 10th June.

It emphasises, if that were needed, what a reprobate Northern Ireland has occupying the office of the Northern Ireland Secretary of State.

This ally of Boris Johnston manifests all the moral deficiency of his boss! We again have presented to us the moral morass into which our nation — the land of the great Protestant Reformation, the Authorised Version of the Bible and the Missionary revival of the 18th century — has sunk under the leadership and shepherding of apostate ecumenical pulpiteers masquerading as God’s servants!

I would have you notice the following statements in the article.

However, speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour show yesterday, Mr Lewis said it was “morally bankrupt” not to ensure abortion access was available for all who require it.

“There’s not just a legal duty but a moral duty to make sure that women and girls here in Northern Ireland can access good quality healthcare, the same way that people across the UK can.”

“It’s morally bankrupt not to make sure that people here in Northern Ireland have access to these services.”

You may have seen the following letters recently published in the Belfast Newsletter.

The first was from Dr J E Hazlett Lynch rightly protesting at those republicans who jeered his family when they gathered at Carnon Cross, Ardboe at which his brother, Kenneth, and two RUC colleagues were brutally murdered on June 2nd 1977.

I submitted a response in support of his letter but also seeking to highlight the hypocrisy of Mrs Naomi Long, leader of the ‘pious’ Alliance Party, and her readiness to condemn a comparatively lesser sin of the posting of a video mocking a lady murdered some years ago, while in coalition with the terrorist supporting and glorifying Sinn Fein party, guilty of hundreds of murders of innocent Protestants and Roman Catholics!

“ . . . . which thing I hate,” Revelation 2:15.

It is all too commonly believed that such is the character of the Lord that there is nothing that He hates!

Such a notion is the offspring of the witness and ministry of those who claim to serve the Lord and preach His Word but who are in fact usurpers and deceivers misrepresenting the Lord in a most reprehensible way.

One day they will learn that they could not have been more wrong!

There cannot be LOVE without HATE. When the heart’s affections are set upon something, they will react most strongly when that which is diametrically opposed to that loved is presented to them. That which stirs up love, when replaced by that which is its antithesis, creates animosity and loathing!

The God of Holiness cannot love sin. Rather, it generates a hatred of it in the very being of God, which in turn produces wrath and judgment. God has reserved a most awful penalty for that which He hates.

Christians, being “partakers of the heavenly calling,” (Hebrews 3:1) and “partakers of the divine nature,” (2 Peter 1:4) will share in this hatred of sin. “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil,” Psalm 97:10. Please note that the child of God is directed by Him to HATE EVIL! Such a hatred is fuelled by the Word of God. “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way,” Psalm 119:104. “I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love,” Psalm 119:163. Such a hatred is entirely intrinsic and integral to the heart that loves the Lord. “Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies,” Psalm 139:21-22.

There has been a resignation from the DUP by a former mayor of Londonderry.

He claims that he has done so, citing his desire to “move forward with a new political pathway”.

His ‘moving forward’ really means moving backwards to support the the sodomite rebellion against God.

He displayed where he desired to stand and the people amongst which he wished to be associated back in August last year.

SINN FEIN FINANCE MINISTER CONOR MURPHY ATTENDS JUBILEE CHURCH SERVICE

This picture was posted by IRA supporter (at least such) Conor Murphy. He and Sinn Fein vice president, Michelle O’Neill have publicly engaged in the marking of the Queen’s platinum celebrations. O’Neill wrote a letter to the Queen congratulating her for reaching 70 years on the throne!

They were joined in this act of hypocrisy by two DUP politicians, pictured above peeping over Murphy’s shoulder as they creep along at his heels.

The hypocrisy involved is of the highest order since both Murphy and O’Neill are prominent in Sinn Fein, the political wing of the IRA. The IRA did its best to murder the Queen and did actually murder her cousin, Lord Mountbatten, in 1979.

The IRA campaign which began in the lates 1960s and lasted some 40 years, was directed chiefly, if not exclusively, against those loyal to Her Majesty or who showed any sympathy toward the United Kingdom.

For O’Neill and Murphy to now put on a show of pleasure at the Queen’s seventy years on the throne, runs entirely contrary to what it was the whole Republican movement desired and sought after by every foul means.

The two DUP politicians pictured are of that ilk which has yielded entirely to the sham ‘peace and good will’ manufactured by the lies and deceit of the ecumenical churches.

The ‘peace’ philosophy has persuaded the DUP and others under the influence of the ecumenical drug, to accept the IRA/Sinn Fein claim that they have changed. The change they claim for themselves does not preclude them celebrating most passionately the so-called ‘heroic’ exploits of their comrades in murder and terror. Click to read more…

Mrs Sarah Jane Ewart has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire)  ‘For services to Abortion Legal Reform in Northern Ireland’

In 2018 Sarah Ewart took a case against the laws in Northern Ireland that protected the life of children in the womb. Her case revolved around the fact that she had to travel to England to have her disabled child put to death.

Four years later and Ms Ewart’s case is still being used by pro abortion legislators to push further death on Northern Ireland. However, in yet another example of how sin sick our nation is Ms Ewart has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for ‘ services to Abortion Legal Reform in Northern Ireland ‘.

The murder of a disabled child is sold by the pro abortion lobby as a compassionate necessity.

The reality is that it is often a painful death, with poison injected straight into the child’s heart or brain.

Lord have mercy on this land.

Since I again had no duties in Kilskeery Independent Christian School today I am sending out this recording of a message from 1985. I trust that it will be a blessing.

This is a message I preached in Kilskeery back on 30th June, 1985. It is hard to believe that it is 37 years ago!

It was a day or so after I had been arrested along with the late George Graham of Kilkeel, who was the local member of the Stormont Assembly back then. I mention Mrs Ethel Smyth in the message. She was a DUP councillor on the local Down District Council. Ethel passed away in August last year. She was a courageous Christian and unflinching in her stand against the enemies of our Province.

I was later charged with disorderly conduct and Mr Graham with assault upon a policeman because the constable’s cap was knocked off as the arrest took place. We were later brought to court in Downpatrick and found guilty. The chief witness against me so contradicted himself that the magistrate told him to leave the witness box and I believed that the case against me would be dismissed. However, during a recess, a message came to me saying that if I did not change my plea to guilty the Prosecutor would demand the maximum penalty against Mr Graham which would mean 6 months imprisonment.

I was deeply troubled by this for I believed myself innocent though my barrister said that to even delay at a police barricade when told to go away is technically a breach of the law. I was also troubled at the thought that if I persisted in my plea, I would be condemning Mr Graham to jail for 6 months.

In the end I changed my plea to guilty and was fined. I refused to pay the fine and was imprisoned for a week in Crumlin Road Jail, my fourth visit to that establishment since my first visit in 1966.

It brought home to me the opportunities Ulster has had, and turned down, of successfully resisting the Roman Catholic/Republican/IRA conspiracy that is presently reaching its end-game here in our land!

Rightly or wrongly, I cannot imagine in today’s atmosphere and outlook, such a message being preached!

I hope you enjoy the recording. It is not of the best quality. I had to remove some pauses, noisy or inaudible sections so it is a little shorter than the original message, though substantially it is what was said.  It is amongst the first of the recordings made in Kilskeery and the tape, a 60 minute tape, ran out just before the end so there is just a little missing.
