“How dare they tell a woman what she can do with her own body”
“US Vice President, Kamala Harris attacks Republicans and calls overturning Roe v. Wade a ‘direct assault on our freedom’ and the rights of all Americans are ‘under attack’.”
This highly publicised comment by the US Vice President, which has appeared on news sites of late, illustrates the blind ignorance that engulfs the hearts and minds of ‘liberals’ everywhere. All pro-abortionists would agree most vehemently with the Vice president’s outburst. Loud and full-throated support by a great number of people and nations for a view does not make it right. The US VP’s declaration but shows the utter falsehood upon which the pro-abortion case rests!
Consider what this woman Harris says. “How dare they tell a woman what she can do with her own body”. In truth, as far as I am concerned, a woman may do whatever she wishes with her body as long as it is not in violation of the law of God. No woman has the right to take her own life or murder her own offspring!
It is clear that world-wide, woman have abused their bodies for a very long time in pursuit of that which they think enhances their physical appearances. I was always amazed at the suffering which some African women put themselves through when they lengthened their necks by systematically adding metal rings around their necks or those who inserted wooden discs in their lower lips so as to extend their lips in a grotesque fashion, or the Chinese women who endured crippling themselves by crushing their feet within shoes that restrained the growth of their feet from an early age! Mothers would fold the toes of their 2-year-old toddlers under their feet and tie them as tightly as possible. The process was extremely painful, and permanently crippled the wearer. Then there was the practice of tooth blackening or ‘Ohaguro’ which was the custom of dyeing your teeth black. It was practiced in Japan as an aristocratic sign of beauty for hundreds of years. The process was long and arduous, took around a week, and required multiple applications of dangerous chemicals to a child’s teeth every day. Those subjected to this process would often suffer very painful allergic reactions to the chemicals, leading to the banning of the practice in 1870 by the Japanese government.
Here in the UK, there was the use of ‘lead-based face powder’. Pox scars were very common amongst the population and women saw such as unsightly imperfections. The cheapest way to cover such imperfections was by using a lead face powder, allegedly made popular by Queen Elizabeth I. Following the antics of ‘celebrities’ is no modern folly!
The powder was quick and easy to make and had a silky matte finish. However, prolonged use also caused brain swelling, paralysis, and eventually multiple organ failure.
Such is the path to true beauty undertaken by former and present generations!
How about this for a means of ‘slimming’ from yesteryear!
Swallow a few tape worms, which could grow to 30 feet long, and letting them do the job for you!!!!!!
I am sure that there were many other utterly foolish practices which womankind felt to be wise and aided in the improving of their appearance! Today, women by the use of injecting gels of all forms, and substances such as ‘Botulinum toxin’, often shortened to Botox, which is a neurotoxic protein which many believe will act to the removing of any signs of ageing! Such is an exceedingly futile hope! Others endure all forms of surgical operations whereby bits are removed and artificial bits are inserted in the vain hope of deceiving everyone that they are not as old and wrinkled and fading as they truly are. We have moved on from the days of wearing items of ‘clothing’ which forced the body into a more ‘sought-after’ shape, mere ’tweezing’ and ‘plucking’, ‘painting and puttying’, though there are still many who practise such attempts at self-deception! Such activities of course are much cheaper forms of self-delusion. I might add that men have not been exempt from such silly procedures as today’s increasing effeminacy demonstrates!
Such procedures, as with the follies of the past, have brought their life-threatening and painful consequences! The use of such harmful and life-threatening procedures and actions is born of ignorance. Those who applied and swallowed what they thought would enhance them were embracing poisons and toxins contrary to their well-being.
Gross ignorance of God and His Word is what lies behind abortion!
However foolish such practices and procedures may appear, they harm none but the individuals who pursue them. They are abusing and mistreating their own bodies and I dare say they have a right, as far as man’s law is concerned, to do that.
But the point about abortion is that it entails dealing with more than the body of the expectant mother. It entails the murderous abuse and slaughter of another human being, quite distinct from the body of the expectant mother.
From the moment of conception there dwells within the womb of the expectant mother, often before she is even aware of that fact, a unique and divinely recognised human being.
David said of himself:
“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them,” Psalm 139:13-16.
Note how David uses personal terms, ‘I’ and ‘my’ when referring to himself in the very earliest stages of his development in his mother’s womb. “My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them”.
He was ‘David’ from the very moment of his conception. He was never a mere ‘part’ of his mother!
For his mother to have aborted him was not merely for her to ‘do’ something with her body but it was for her to have murdered her son!!
Yes, in a most wonderfully amazing fashion, the unborn child is uniquely and distinctly developed within the womb of the mother to be. By a wonderful and miraculous process the child grows and that by the sustenance supplied by the body of its mother but it is not PART of nor a mere EXTENSION of its mother. The word ‘fashioned’ in Psalm 139:16, refers to the work of a potter making a pot! The Hebrew word first appears in Genesis 2:7. “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Here it is translated by the word ‘formed’. But the link with the work of the potter is clearly seen in this verse and it reminds us that every child is the miraculous product of God’s working and power!
The distinctiveness of the child from its mother is seen in that it will most likely not have its mother’s blood group. It most certainly will have a distinct ‘Deoxyribonucleic acid’ or DNA. It does not necessarily have the same colouring or features as its mother. Its body is not its mother’s body, to be treated as the mother wishes.
It is an utterly distinct human being!
So for a mother to claim that when she aborts her unborn child she is but dealing with her own body is utterly and most wickedly wrong!
She is murdering another unequivocally unique human being which, by the wonder of reproduction, instituted of God, she has been the instrument of it being brought into being!
To kill such a human being is murder. That is what abortion entails.
It is wrong for any mother, any group of people, any legislative body, to engage in, call for or legalise the murder of the unborn.
It is a crime before God no matter how acceptable it has become in society and in the end the God of Heaven will deal with all those, individuals and nations, who engaged in or supported in any way the murder of the unborn.
What is the end to be of murderers?
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death,” Revelation 21:8.
All who are of the mindset of Kamala Harris and who share her views on the murder of the unborn, need to take heed to what God says regarding what it is they demand for it will bring a most dreadful and unimagined eternal consequence upon their heads!
