Now it’s Martians who are our Ancestors!
“Professor Brian Cox has reflected on the possibility that humans could be Martians – rather than the suspected life forms on the planet of Mars. The renowned physicist told the BBC’s Sunday Morning programme there were still lots of unknowns and suggested that life on Earth could have originated elsewhere.”
Let me tell you, Professor, IT DID, though not in the place you believe in, since it is stated that you wish to be known as a human being (of Martian origin) with “no personal faith”.
Life on earth actually began in the mind and will of God, who dwells in the heavens beyond the gaze of men. The ‘beginnings’ of life on earth’ was due to the miraculous workings of a Person Whose existence you cannot outrightly deny for you are on record as saying that you “cannot be sure that there is no God.”
Professor, you bring to mind Paul’s words. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” Romans 1:22.
The ‘Prof”!
The Professor is Oh so right when he said: “Science cannot answer every question.”
I might suggest that it is more accurate to say “Science cannot answer ANY question satisfactorily!”
If the Professor were to respond to that statement by saying that science can ‘satisfactorily’ tell us that the source of light here on earth is the sun, we would be forced to ask but ‘where did the sun come from’?
The ‘world’ of unbelieving ‘scientific speculators’ such as Prof Cox, is a world of ‘maybes’, ‘perhaps’ and ‘there is a good chance’!
In this they sound an awful lot like politicians.
The Bible on the other hand is a book of certainties and confidences. Peter said on one occasion: “And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God,” John 6:69. Faith in the witness of God’s Word brings confidence and certainty. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear,” Hebrews 11:3.
FAITH is, as Matthew Poole the Bible commentator succinctly defines it, “a real, present, confident assent of the soul of a believer to the promise of God, (which is the basis or foundation of it), by which the spiritual good things to come, and which fall not under sense, yet with a most vehement and intense desire urged for, are made to have a mental, intellectual existence and subsistence in the soul which exerciseth it.”
Belief in God’s Word yields with it an assurance that what God says is so!
Prof Cox and his ‘companions in doubt’, do their little experiments, examine what data they can assemble and believe and proclaim what they conclude from their research and findings!
Adversely for them, yesterday’s conclusions and ‘scientific facts’ have become today’s abandoned fables and miscalculations!
“The word of God . . . . . liveth and abideth for ever,” 1 Peter 1:23, unlike so much of that which was called, for a time, ‘scientific fact’ only to be discarded as ‘error and folly’ but a short time later. The ‘Theory of Evolution’, as first propounded by Charles Darwin, has undergone innumerable alterations and amendments since that day in November 1859 that Darwin published his atheistic views on the origins of the species.
Many have been the repeatedly forced adjustments to scientific man’s notions and speculations since he believed the earth was flat, aye and long before!
On the other hand, the creed of the orthodox believer, who takes the Bible to be true, the very words of God, and who believes that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16) is basically he same as that believed by the faithful back in the days of Adam. Certainly, the apostles held to the teaching and record of the Book Of Genesis. A survey of these verses will show that to be so and that some 4000 years after the creation that record was accepted.
“Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God,” Luke 3:38.
“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come,” Romans 5:14.
“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit,” 1 Corinthians 15:45.
“For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” 1 Timothy 2:13-14.
“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,” Jude 1:14.
These quotations are but a few of the records available to us of the unchanging belief in the accuracy of the Word of God amongst the New Testament writers. It can be stated that ‘scientific discoveries’ rather than disproving the Bible have but added to its claim to being inspired of God and authoritative.

It is quite bewildering why men purporting to be wise and educated and intellectually superior to the rest of us, can put forward the notion that we in truth are ‘Martians’!?!?
You would think that at least one of the ‘founders’ of the human race who had migrated from Mars, given that they must have had much superior scientific abilities than this generation, would have kept a diary of that great ‘flit’ Of course they could have arrived by rubber dinghy which is today favour means of transport for migrants!!
Could it be, since there is no account of this ‘interplanetary relocation’ and there is nothing of that vastly superior knowledge retained amongst mankind, that poor Brian Cox is raving mad and as ‘daft as a brush’?
I know what I think of his laughable notions!
