Flying union flag at courthouses in Northern Ireland unfair to nationalists, court told

The article presents a sample of the perverted logic of Irish Republicans. They are determined to remove every vestige of our ‘Britishness’ here in this part of the United Kingdom! Sadly, London aids and abets this slow political strangulation of the British citizens of Northern Ireland. Irish Republicans hate every symbol of Britishness except the £££££ on their benefits and allowance payments! Read the Belfast Telegraph report.

DUP must apologise for decades of ‘hurt and pain’ – LGBT people wary of Arlene Foster’s outreach

Read the Belfast Telegraph report.

The whole moral decline within the DUP becomes ever more evident. According to the DUP leader there may even be sodomite councillors and MLAs and those concerned about such developments don’t protest publicly but hide behind the party press office!
The Bible says: “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin,” James 4:17.

Mrs Foster is quoted as saying: “Just because we disagree on marriage does not mean that I can’t say that we value those who are LGBT in our society.”

Just what did the perverted citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah contribute to the well being of those cities – apart from provoking the wrath of God and bringing about their eternal damnation????

Mrs Foster will find that there is a price to pay for such an ‘about turn’!

Sinn Féin vote to change abortion policy

The abortion of a twelve-week old unborn baby is very definitely murder.

Sinn Fein’s Gerry Kelly urges unionists to ‘reciprocate’ after shaking Prince Charles’ hand

Kelly’s demand illustrates the true nature of the ‘handshake’ – political propaganda whereby pressure can be exerted on the Unionist people to concede to Sinn Fein/IRA what their terrorist campaign of 30-odd years could  not achieve.

It also shows what a fool Prince Charles is when he was prepared to participate in such a dishonourable sham. Kelly was a leading member of the IRA terrorist campaign at the time Prince Charles’ great-uncle, Lord Mountbatten, was murdered by the IRA in 1979. Read the Newsletter report.

Lord Alderdice resigns from Presbyterian Church following ban on same-sex relationships

‘Gasp’! How sad for that church! The Presbyterian Church rarely take a step forward, rather it has been sinking downward ever since it exonerated J E Davey of blasphemy in the 1920s and then elevated him to the moderatorship of the General Assembly in 1954.

But the resignation of Alderdice is good news for them indeed, though I am sure that some will see it as a sad loss.

Jeffrey Donaldson’s daughter a leading campaigner for abortion reform

Jeffrey Donaldson says: ‘I brought my children up to develop their own opinions on life.’ That is not how he should have brought them up. Such are his daughter’s views that it appears she would see no wrong in aborting, murdering, a grandchild of his!
Is this not most dreadful for him to contemplate?

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up,”  Deuteronomy 6:4-7.

Our own opinions are ever wrong and are to be rejected and the truth of God embraced. Our heart is a fountain of sin and iniquity said the Saviour.
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man,” Matthew 15:18-20.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9.
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God,” Romans 8:7-8. Read the Belfast Telegraph article.

Couple resign from Presbyterian Church as same-sex ruling row escalates

This article aptly displays the corruption that long has resided in the heart of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The most abominable views and conduct have been tolerated and condoned.

Those who attack the recent decision on same-sex relationships have resorted to lies. One of the biggest lies is that put forth by ‘Lord’ Alderdice. He suggested the Presbyterian Church in Ireland was moving closer to Free Presbyterianism. Nothing could be further from the truth!!! The PCI, with its women ministers and elders, endorsement of modern versions, strong links to Roman Catholicism and liberal theology is far, far removed from the position and stand of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster.

God’s Word says: “no lie is of the truth,” 1 John 2:21. “ . . . in which it was impossible for God to lie,” Hebrews 6:18. “God is not a man, that he should lie,” Numbers 23:19.

The liars have but displayed the wickedness that lies at the core of the PCI!! Read the Belfast Telegraph report.

Same-sex couples welcome in Presbyterian Church – but cannot be full members

This is  far from right!

Should a person regularly coming to church drunk be welcomed? Should a burglar regularly coming to church with his pockets full of stolen property be welcomed? Should a man whose wife continually shows the bruising his brutal treatment has left be welcomed in church? Of course not.

David, in Psalm 101 verse 7 says: “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.” No welcome here for the habitual sinner!

Daniel’s counsel to Nebuchadnezzar is also relevant here. “Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity,” Daniel 4:27.

Those who are openly engaged in what God calls an abominable relationship should  not be welcomed at church. Such a welcome endorses their continued brazen defiance of God and His Law and sends a signal that there is little wrong with their wicked lifestyle.

Christians must reject the ‘wishy-washy’ sentimentality of ‘liberal and modernistic’ neo-evangelicanism with its ‘open arms’ stance toward all. The repentant mercy-seeking sinner, whatever his/her lifestyle has been should be welcomed but not those who are merely campaigning for an acceptance of their wickedness by the professing Church of Christ!

Should those whom God has given up be welcomed in His house? “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient,” Romans 1:26-28.

It is quite obvious that the Presbyterian Church in Ireland has taken little notice of God’s view on this matter and has acted in defiance of His Word in order to placate the liberal element in the denomination!

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds,” 2 John 1:9-11.

Supreme Court Abortion Judgment

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-

“While it is good that the Supreme Court rejected the Human Rights Commission’s appeal, I disagree with majority view that denying abortion is a breach of human rights.

“Abortion is about killing. Before an abortion there is a living baby with a beating heart in the womb; abortion kills and removes that living creation. Thus, how anyone can think of such an act as a ‘human right’ is beyond me.”

(Arlene) Foster considers attending Fermanagh’s outing in gaelic football’s Ulster Final

If she does then to please opponents she shows herself ready to offend the Lord. Breaking the Christian Sabbath is no small matter. Here is but one example of the consequences of a people desecrating God’s Holy Day.

“Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them,” Ezekiel 20:12-13.

Special Season of Prayer for our Independent Christian school

“Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. . . . Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved, . . . Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. . . . Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved,” Psalm 80:1, 3, 7, 19.

The opening verse brings us to the days of Israel marching to the promised land. The placement of the tribes was ordained of God. The three tribes mentioned here followed after the Kohathites who carried the Ark of the Covenant, the very symbol of God’s presence amongst His people.

When the people of God are going forward as God intends them to proceed then their eyes will ever be on the blood-sprinkled Ark. It is there that God meets with us. “And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel,” Exodus 25:22

“New Wine – But the Old Spirit”

An announcement of what is nothing short of an ecumenical get together in Sligo later this year has been drawn to my attention. I just wish that the person who drew it to my notice had made themselves known for I would have liked to have thanked them for sending me the information.

The introductory announcement states:

We are called to live lives that count. Lives that count for the Kingdom and for the King. As we call out to Him together – God’s Kingdom presence breaks into this world. New Wine Ireland exists to enthuse, equip and resource the local church across Ireland for radical mission that will change this nation.

That is straight out of an ecumenical pamphlet of 60-70 years ago. The style and methods of presentation are very different, 21st century rather than 20th century, but the overt aims are the same – a uniting of all ‘churches’. Read more

Correspondence about Pope’s claims continued

There has been another round of letters to the Editor of the Newsletter. Below is a second letter from Micheal O’Cathail and a reply from Rev. Foster.

In his response (‘Popes claim to be God,’ May 18) to my letter (‘It is inaccurate to suggest that Popes claim to be God,’ May 16), the Rev Ivan Foster asks regarding his letter of May 7 “… why he (me/mise) made no reference whatsoever to them (ie Pope Boniface)”.

It’s quite simple really. There have been nine Popes named Boniface. There was Pope Boniface 1, who was a contemporary of St Augustine of Hippo, the author of the Confessions and also a discourse on The Trinity etc.; Boniface 1 was Pope from December 418 to September 422; and there was Pope Boniface 1X; he was Pope from November 1389 to October 1404; in between there were seven Popes named Boniface. As you can see, the Papacy has a long history, stretching back 2000 years to its foundation by Jesus Christ, and, in between, there have been hundreds of Popes; the Rev Foster’s first name, Ivan, also called John, is well represented among them (St John XX111 was a much loved Pope in the 20th century); my first name, Micheal, hasn’t yet made the grade to the Papacy; however an Archangel is called Micheal who is defender of the Catholic Church.

A beautiful prayer to St. Micheal was brought into use by Pope Leo X111 in 1886.

 Micheal O’Cathail, Fermanagh

Read it online here.

Rev. Foster’s reply.

Sir,

Mr O’Cathail’s reply in today’s Newsletter, if I might endow it with such a term, is a clear indication of his inability to effectively respond to my assertion that the popes have wickedly claimed to be God on earth!!
His verbal waffle and floundering around but confirms the truth of what I say.

I might also say that his assertion that the papacy was founded by the Lord Jesus Christ is a lie, equal in its abomination as the claim of the popes to be God!
I would be more than happy to discuss with him that matter, starting with the questions: ‘Why did Paul, when writing to the saints at Rome, make no reference to pope nor offer his greetings, if such a personage existed then as Mr O’Cathail claims?’

I might warn him that is only one of many questions I would be asking if Mr. O’Cathail is inclined to take up a new subject.
Silence on his part might be more discreet since he has dismally failed in his attempt to refute the claims I made in my first letter.

Respectfully,

Rev Ivan Foster (Rtd). 30th May 2018.

The abortion referendum in the republic of Ireland: ‘INFANTICIDE ENDORSED’

A ‘Belfast Newsletter’ editorial on May 26th, the day following the “YES” vote in the referendum on the repeal of the eighth amendment of the Irish Constitution which limits the circumstances under which an abortion may take place, contained the following statements.

“We are going to have to give the matter a lot of thought in Northern Ireland too. As with many issues, from hospital rationalisation to public sector reform to social matters, Stormont fears hard choices.

The limited push for abortion reform in the last assembly struck me as one that ducked the point: the emphasis was on victims of rape or families dealing with fatal foetal abnormality. But these tragic cases are a tiny fraction of abortions.

The real debate is over abortion on demand, which has barely been discussed at Stormont. Read more

Irish Referendum decision is a grave threat to the unborn child in Northern Ireland.

Statement from Jim Wells MLA.

‘The outcome of the referendum on the 8th Amendment in the Irish Republic is an extremely worrying development for the protection of the unborn child in Northern Ireland’.

‘Not only has the Republic voted to allow what will be effectively abortion on demand, the size of the Yes majority will give TDs and Senators a mandate to introduce wide ranging, liberal legislation’.

‘It is inevitable that the abortion industry based in Great Britain will set up clinics in border towns and promote their services to Northern Ireland women. It will be much easier to terminate a child’s life if this can be done at a clinic in Dundalk or Letterkenny rather than flying to London or Manchester’.

‘Verified research has shown that the impediment of the Irish Sea has encouraged pregnant women to think again and as a result 100,000 lives have been saved in Northern Ireland’.

‘The referendum decision will mean that Northern Ireland and Malta will remain the only parts of Europe where the unborn child will have a high level of protection’.

‘The ray of hope is that our neighbours in County Donegal voted to protect the unborn child’.

‘Whilst deeply disappointed by yesterday’s vote the Pro Life movement must now redouble its efforts to prevent any change in law in Northern Ireland. I remain totally pledged to all that I can to help them achieve this’.

PROTEST AGAINST THE DESECRATION OF THE LORD’S DAY,

Report from Rev Paul Hanna

We had a mighty open-air service today at the Mt Merrion entrance of the Kingspan Ulster Rugby stadium.

We were joined by over 30 willing participants from many of our churches from near and far including Revs P. Foster, B. McClung, D. McLaughlin and myself from the Belfast Churches.

We assembled directly opposite the main entrance where we’d a great opportunity to present Christ to the multitudes of people as they passed by.

The couple of thousand special tracts (commissioned by the Government and morals committee for the occasion) were almost entirely used up, and it has to be said afterwards that not one was seen (by this preacher) discarded on the ground.

All four ministers took part, each bringing a short word in the Gospel with much bright singing as well (musical accompaniment provided by one of our very capable College students).

Many thanks to those who supported us in any way.

Some pictures from the protest are below.

Letters to the Editor of the Belfast Newsletter regarding the proposed visit of the Pope to N. Ireland

The following is in response to Rev. Foster’s original letter.

Ben Lowry got a good roasting from the Rev Ivan Foster (Ret), along with His Holiness, Pope Francis, in the News Letter (‘Lowry saying NI should welcome Pope is example of ignorance of Rome’s teachings,’ May 7).

The Rev Foster writes: “…Ben Lowry believes we should all welcome to Northern Ireland (is) one who exceeds all other deceivers. He (Pope Francis) claims to be God on earth!” and “Mr Lowry’s stance is an indication of the gross ignorance that exists on the historic position of the Reformed Church on the teachings of Rome.”

Lord Tebbit has provoked outrage by vowing to boycott services conducted by a gay dean the Tory peer has branded a ‘sodomite’.

Letter to the Deputy Editor, Belfast Newsletter

Sir,

Ben Lowry, Deputy Editor of the Belfast Newsletter, could not be more wrong when he argues that the so-called ‘Protestant’ church leaders are right in saying that the pope should come to Northern Ireland. (Newsletter, Saturday 5th May.)

How can such men be right when they deny the Bible and the historic doctrines of their respective denominations?

Mr Lowry further argues that because “almost everybody of note ultimately comes to Northern Ireland at some point in their life, from Chinese or American or European leaders, to sports and music stars and business and religious leaders, including the Dalai Lama.” Read more

Protestant church leaders urge Pope Francis to come north

Such urgings by these men show just how far these three denominations have moved from the Bible and from the fundamentals of their own creeds. Just how do they explain this shift in their theological position in the light of the revelation of God’s immutability in such verses as: “But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end,” Psalm 102:27. “For I am the LORD, I change not,” Malachi 3:6.  “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever,” Hebrews 13:8. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning,” James 1:17.

Modern, mainline denominations have removed themselves far from the unchanging and unchangeable TRUTH of God and are part of the end-time apostasy foretold in God’s Word.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils,” 1 Timothy 4:1.

ROMISH HOODWINKING AND EPISCOPALIAN HYPOCRISY

“First ever beatification in Ireland to take place next month”. So ran the headline in ‘The Irish Times’ newspaper on Monday 17th April 2018.

The article not only highlighted the folly of Rome and her “saint-making’, but it revealed the Bible-denying apostasy of the Episcopalian Church of Ireland!

The article begins by stating: “The late Jesuit priest Fr John Sullivan, who was raised a Protestant, is to be declared “blessed” at a ceremony which will be attended by both the Church of Ireland and Catholic Archbishops of Dublin. In a year which also marks the Reformation’s 500th anniversary, it is the first ever beatification in Ireland – a major step on the path to sainthood – and will also involve Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Causes of Saints. The event will take place on May 13th at the Jesuit’s St Francis Xavier Church on Dublin’s Gardiner Street, a short distance from Eccles Street where Fr Sullivan was born in 1861.” Read more

Two wanted men beaten with iron bars by a gang in south Armagh before being covered in paint

Those attacked were paedophiles! Those involved in the attack were most likely Sinn Feiners for there are few else living in south Armagh! They were therefore supporters of same sex-marriage and the ongoing plan by the Irish Republic’s government to bring in much more liberal ‘abortion’ laws.

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?

Scripture: Acts 11:26

Preached in Penticton FPC, April 22nd, 2018.

Here in our text is the origin of the title which all true believers wear with honour. It can be seen immediately that the name Christian is that used of those who before were referred to as disciples. A disciple is one under instruction, a learner. A disciple of Christ is one who, having met with and obeyed Christ is now under His direction and tutelage.

While that may explain the meaning of the terms what we want to discover is what is a Christian? There is no title more abused and misused today. I believe that it is likely that 99% of those in this world who claim to be Christians are very sadly mistaken! Read more...

The benefits of having the Bible

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple,” Psalm 119:130.

Jim Wells speaks about DUP betrayal

Below is a recording of a radio interview on BBC Ulster Radio on 9th April in which Jim Wells explains why he feels betrayed by the DUP over the matter of a promise to reinstate him as Minister of Health after he was forced to resign from that office, following a false allegation made against him by a person who was later convicted of falsehood.

He alleges that the DUP leadership has refused to honour the promise he was given. He believes that he has been treated in this manner because he holds to the moral standards once professed by the DUP.

TUV has published a leaflet to mark the 20th anniversary of the Belfast Agreement.

Highlighting the failures of the Agreement it pulls no punches in contrasting what it promised with what it delivered.

The promise versus the reality

Anyone in 1998 who dared to question the hype and promise of the Belfast Agreement was treated as a pariah. This new dawn, we were told, would bring stability and normality to Northern Ireland. So, how has it worked out? Badly: Northern Ireland is more divided than ever, and as for political normality, the parties can’t even form a government. The fact that the Belfast Agreement itself is the cause and source of such failure is an uncomfortable reality many try to avoid. Facing up to the need for radical change to the core institutional structures of the 1998 Agreement is the path to progress.  Read the full document here.

The deceptions of Anglican cleric, Sam Allberry and the dupes who believe his lie

By Rev Ivan Foster (Rtd)

A certain Anglican ‘cleric’, named Sam Allbery, introduced himself to the 2017 Anglican Church’s Synod as one who is “same-sex attracted” and further stated that he had been so all his life. He then declared just what that meant. “I have sexual, romantic and deep emotional attractions to people of the same sex”!!

Please note that he uses the plural, ‘people’ rather than ‘a person’, singular. Sodomy is the essence of base promiscuity and debauchery!!!

He betrays his heart and unveils his sinfulness in his words of introduction. Read more

Josiah’s reaction to the reading of the Law: A lesson for today

“And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of  Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king’s, saying, Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book,”
2 Chronicles 34:19-21.

The events of this chapter took place just a few years after the beginning of Jeremiah’s ministry. I have no doubt that what Josiah initiated by way of reforms was a direct result of the early preaching of Jeremiah. “For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images,” 2 Chronicles 34:3.

It was the influence of Jeremiah’s early preaching that prompted this desire to launch a programme of reforms. Read more...

Report of the ordination of Rev. Ivan Foster

Reproduced from the Revivalist, May 1968

Saturday 20th April (1968) was an important day for the Free Presbyterian Church and for County Fermanagh. On that day, Rev. Ivan Foster was ordained as the first minister of the first Free Presbyterian Church in the county.

For many years apostates, fearful of the effects of a strong Gospel preaching church upon their iniquitous intrigues, sought to keep us out of Fermanagh. However the Lord opened up the way, and what God opens no man can shut. As a result Lisbellaw Free Presbyterian Church was opened. Since this work commenced the devil and his agents have been busy, but their desires to bring to nought this gospel witness have miserably failed. Read more

The Preacher with an admirable reputation

“All things that John spake of this man were true,” John 10:41.

Based upon a sermon preached in Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church on Lord’s Day evening, March 12th, 2000 by Rev. Ivan Foster

It was some three years since the death of John but the people of the area still remember his preaching. The presence of Christ in their midst brings back to their minds the words and ministry of John, and of his ministry they utter the words of our text: All things that John spake of this man were true. John wrought no miracle but he told the truth about Christ. Here is a reputation to be more desired than the working of miracles. In today’s religious world, the working of miracles would be deemed a most marvellous sign of a preacher’s divine calling. But in truth it would be no such thing. Miracles are no evidence of a man’s godliness. The magicians of Egypt worked miracles. That is recorded for us in Exodus 7:11. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. (See also 7:22, 8:7.) The Antichrist’s companion, the false Prophet, will also work miracles. “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live”, Revelation 13:13-14.

The true test of a preacher’s genuineness is whether he speaks well of Christ or not. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them,” Isaiah 8:20. Read more

Lying in the arms of God or in the jaws of the devil — Which??

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness,” 1 John 5:19.

The whole world is truly referred to in this text. It refers first of all to the people of God. And we know that we are of God. It then refers to the rest of the world in the remainder of the verse. And the whole world lieth in wickedness. That is all this world consists of –those who are in Christ and those who are not; those who are of God and those who are of the devil. Read more
