The betrayal continues

The following article taken from the BBC Northern Ireland news site, highlights the betrayal of Northern Ireland’s Unionists by the deceitful, lying British Government.

The British Army does not now have the freedom to move between Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland. If anything underscores the treacherous impact of the ‘Brexit’ arrangement our British Government made with the EU, in order to placate the Irish Government, Sinn Fein and the stupidity of the DUP when it called, at the behest of money-grabbing merchants, for a ’soft border’, this is it!

Christians need to recognise the gradual shifting of our Province out of the United Kingdom into a United Ireland.
As such, it is a fulfilment of prophecy. Neither Scotland nor the whole of Ireland were part of the old Roman Empire which will, by God’s decree, form the territory of the future Antichristian empire.

Christian – God is on the throne! “…for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant,” Jeremiah 51:29.

Ian Paisley criticised over ‘Catholic IRA’ comment

(UTV news report) A DUP MP has faced criticism from parliamentary counterparts after linking the IRA with Catholicism.

Ian Paisley’s reference to the sectarian murder campaign by the “Catholic IRA” drew critical responses from fellow members of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee.
Mr Paisley was questioning Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis on legacy issues and was asking him if he was going to push the Irish Government to do more to secure justice for IRA killings in border areas during the Troubles.

“Today is Holocaust Memorial Day where we remember victims of Holocaust and also other genocide around the world and in Northern Ireland of course we remember the border campaign and the genocide of sectarian murder where the IRA, the Catholic IRA, murdered Protestants at the border,” said North Antrim MP Mr Paisley. Read more

Abortion and the new vaccine for Covid-19.

Here is a link to an article on the issue of the use of tissue from aborted babies in the process of manufacturing the Covid-19 vaccine by the leading pharmaceutical companies, presently supplying the UK with the vaccine.

It is written by Dr John Piper, pastor of a Baptist Church in the USA. Sadly, while agreeing with what he writes on this matter, I cannot endorse the general stance of him on most issues. He is what is termed a ’New Calvinist’. As such, he is very much NOT a Biblical Calvinist of the old school. His theology is of the modern kind, embracing elements of ecumenism, new-evangelicalism etc.

(Here is a critique of his views, taken from the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland magazine)

I issued a warning regarding the man’s spiritual folly back in 2013. Here is a link to that article.

Having said all that, what he says regarding the Covid-19 vaccine is correct and should be noted by Christians.

Republican defiance and disregard for others!

On the day that it was announced that another 16 people had died from Covid-19, pictures have emerged of an IRA funeral in Londonderry where hundreds defied the pandemic regulations and assembled and marched en mass to the burial of Eamon McCourt, 62, who reportedly died with Covid-19 and was buried yesterday. McCourt is believed to have shot and killed one of his own compatriots.

The BBC, The Belfast Newsletter, Ulster Television News and other news sites carried pictures of the funeral and the comments of those who condemned republicans, including members of Sinn Fein, one of the parties at Stormont which brought in the regulations so blatantly defied!

The police have announced an investigation but since we are still waiting for them to act in the wake of the much more blatant violation of the Covid funeral regulations last August which involved Sinn Fein leaders Mary Lou McDonald and Michele O’Neill, along with other notorious figureheads from the days of IRA terror and murder, we do not hold out much hope of action.

It is one thing to impose heavy fines on ‘party goers’ but a very different thing to bring Sinn Fein members to justice!

No friend of Ulster!

The headline on today’s “BBC Northern Ireland” news site says it all!! Michelle O’Neill: Joe Biden ‘will be a good friend to us’

Biden will be no friend of Ulster. Of that we can be sure. O’Neill’s assertion is proof enough of that fact! This supporter of all things ‘Irish Republican’, who once responded to a

BBC reporter’s request for a quick word by retorting that he was Irish to the BBC’s New York correspondent Nick Bryant. Bryant requested ‘a quick word for the BBC’.  “The BBC?” Biden retorted: “I’m Irish.”

The fact that such a response immediately sprang to his lips is an indication of what lies at the very surface of this man’s feelings toward all things British. Smiles cannot disguise his animosity! Read more

The utter apostasy of the Church of Ireland

The substance of this article was drawn to my attention by an anonymous letter received yesterday. I felt that its contents were worth examining and enlarging upon.
Hence this article. What an unbelievably evil time we live in!

The measure of a person’s spirituality may often be gauged by what it is they tolerate!

Lot, the nephew of Abraham, is deemed a miserable backslider who would not even be deemed that, were it not for what is written of God in 2 Peter 2:7, where it is stated regarding him: “ . . . . just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked.” Here he is called ‘just Lot’ or ‘justified’ Lot. A man who, despited his shameful backsliding, was ‘justified by his (Christ’s) blood,’ Romans 5:9. Proof of his regeneration is seen in that he was “vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked.” The word means ‘to be afflicted, to suffer’. The word is translated “oppressed” in Acts 7:24. This is the only other place the Greek word kataponeo appears in the New Testament. Read more

“The Testimony of Abraham” – a Study in Prophesy

Rev. Ivan Foster, preacher

The Sovereign Grace Advent Testimony was not be able to hold the January meeting in London and consequently, this month the service was a virtual event, and was broadcast on the internet.

We are thankful to say that friends all over the world were able to listen in.

The theme for our meetings this year continues with the emphasis to the fact that ALL the prophets witnessed to the Second Coming of Christ (Acts 3:21) and the subject for this month is ‘The Testimony of Abraham.’

No place for dissent

In John 6:15 we read: “When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.”

The Lord Jesus was very much aware of the thoughts of men and acted so as to deter their ill-advised plans. We may learn from Him and, as much as in us is, be acquainted with the thoughts of men and act accordingly.

I was made to think along these lines when I noticed the headline I quote in the following article. I sincerely trust you find these few thoughts helpful.

“And he (the False Prophet) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name,” Revelation 13:16-17. Read more

Martin McGuinness a ruthless torturer who personally shot victims

There was nothing ‘new’ about McGuinness in his latter days, despite the efforts of the DUP to whitewash him in order to justify their entering into a ‘power-sharing’ arrangement with the terrorist organisation, Sinn Fein/IRA, that he led.

To the end of his days he was an unapologetic IRA terrorist and was buried as such!

The ‘Irish’ wording declares him to have been buried as an IRA ‘volunteer’! The word Oglach is Irish for ‘volunteer’ while Oglaigh na hEireaan means ‘Volunteers of Ireland’, the name the IRA called itself. Read more

The old paths

“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein,” Jeremiah 6:16.

I sent this verse to some friends earlier today as we were recalling former times.

Later I found my heart pondering just what the verse said and decided to share with you the following few thoughts. I trust that you find them helpful.

These words were uttered by Jeremiah when the populace, under the guidance of false prophets, were suffering the consequences of their folly. These evil prophets offered what appeared to be a good way but it brought nothing but a terrible harvest.

“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace,” Verse 14. Read more

His hand is not removed from off the nations

I am pressed in my spirit to send out this article.

The nation is astir again as an even more severe lockdown is imposed in England, Scotland and Wales, and here in Northern Ireland we await similar restrictions to be imposed. Yet in truth, there is no real understanding of what is taking place. There is no seeing that the Lord is at work.
As long as that pertains, there CAN be no easing of the present distress.

Please consider the few thoughts we have put together.

“ . . . His hand is not removed from you,” 1 Samuel 6:3.

The Covid-19 virus is proving to be more than merely similar to the ‘common ‘flu’ as some, even Christians, would have us all to believe! Read more

Runaways, Rebels, Redemption and Revival blessing

This recently published book by Mrs. Ann Foster is now available for download as a PDF.

Why is it that men are so prone to run away from God? One has only to read the Bible to see the great and continual hostility of man to God and His Word.

We need look no further than our own hearts to discover a natural hostility to Christ and the Gospel. Believers must acknowledge to a man that we all held out, some for longer than others, against the strivings of the Holy Spirit until at last He overcame and won our hearts.

What is the reason for man’s deep inborn hostility to God, to His Word and to His Son that fills the hearts and imbues the actions of every human being, born of natural generation into this world? We must trace it to its source, the sin of our first parents, Adam and Eve. There we find the wellspring, the fountainhead of the iniquity of man and his aggressive antagonism to ‘all that is called God, or that is worshipped’ (2 Thess. 2:4). That antagonism will, of course, reach its fulness and climax in the person of the Antichrist. (Excerpt from the Introduction).

Northern Ireland – effectively dispelled from the UK!

Here is a most important article, based upon a speech in the Stormont Assembly by Mr. Jim Allister, TUV leader, on Wednesday 30th December, 2020.

It brings out the betrayal of our heritage of which the DUP are guilty by their nefarious kowtowing to Boris Johnston and their surrender of a proper establishing of the border between Northern Ireland and the EU along the legal and historic border separating Northern Ireland from the Irish Republic.

They joined with republicans in not wanting a ‘hard border’ and this at the behest of greedy businessmen who baulked at the possibility of increased expenses which the establishing of the legitimate border might mean. Added to this, the DUP supported the cries of the Irish republicans against an establishing of the traditional border as the line of demarkation because it would set back their plans to remove that border and thus further their aim of a United Ireland. Read more

This is the Finger of God

An article from the pen of J C Ryle, the first Protestant Bishop of Liverpool, at the time of an outbreak of a cattle plague in England in 1865. It makes timely and interesting reading in the light of the Coronavirus plague and provides us with much godly counsel.

Look at the words which form the title of this article, and consider them well. They were spoken by heathen men more than three thousand years ago. They fell from the lips of Egyptian magicians when one of the famous plagues came on the land of Egypt. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said, Exodus 8:19.

It would be well if Englishmen were as wise as these Egyptians. There is an evil amongst us that demands our serious attention. It forces itself on our notice, whether we like it or not. It has seized the nation by the throat, and will have a hearing. That evil is the cattle plague. Read more

Covid-19 vaccination

I am re-issuing the two articles below, first mounted at the beginning of December, highlighting the use of foetal tissue in the development and testing of the vaccines being issued by our Government at present. This surely must be of particular concern to Christians.

The second article,“Some facts about Covid-19 vaccines and foetal tissue” is very helpful in the present controversy. The short article is produced by a ‘Pro-Life, anti-abortion’ organisation called: NI Voiceless. They say of themselves: ‘we are people of all religious convictions and none.’ I share it with you for I know that Christians are most anxious to obtain facts about the manufacture and make-up of the ‘vaccines’ that will soon be offered to them.  I think that this article may be a help. I found one particular paragraph of great interest:

“Foetal cell lines can be used in two ways in bringing vaccines to market. They can be used in the production of the vaccine or it can be produced in a different kind of cell line but then tested on foetal cell lines after production. Of the eight vaccines ordered by the EU and UK, five were either developed in foetal cell lines or tested using them, including the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine that has been approved by the UK. The table that follows, based on data collected by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, summarises the facts about foetal cell line use for these eight vaccines. It also demonstrates that it is possible to make vaccinations against this awful virus without using cell lines. That is what CureVac, GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi Pasteur, and Valneva have done. We congratulate their approach.”

I am gratified that it appears that there are companies which do not use foetal tissue in the manufacture of a vaccine.  On the basis of this information, a Christian may insist that they will only accept a vaccine from one of the above named companies which do not use foetal tissue in the manufacture of their vaccine.  I trust that the whole article is a benefit and guide to you all.

The above scene reminds me of the words of an old hymn:

The mercies of God What a theme for my song
Oh I never could number them o’er
They’re more than the stars in the heavenly dome
Or the sands of the wavebeaten shore

Chorus

For mercies so great, What return can I make
For mercies so constant and sure
I’ll love him, I’ll serve Him with all that I have
As long as my life shall endure.

The year that is drawing to a close bears testimony to the Lord’s great mercy to us amidst the trials and sorrows that many encountered. May the new year which is opening before us bring to yet further manifestations of His love and may we say as the hymn writer puts it: I’ll Love him and serve Him with all that I have, As long as my life shall endure.

Nuns in German children’s home rented boys to abusers

We have ever felt it to be our duty to highlight the utter corruption and wickedness of the ‘Church of Rome’!

Here is but another example of that, the report of which has just been sent to me. I just do not understand how Roman Catholics can ignore such crimes and continue within this system!

What a mercy to be a redeemed Protestant, delivered from the darkness of this Satanic organisation.

This report was sent to me and I wish to distribute it out to our BB readers. Read more

An article worth considering

I hardly need say that I am not a ‘fan’ of the general run of Mr Alex Kane’s articles. Mr Kane is an atheist. Nevertheless there is an awful lot of common sense in what he says in the article which follows. It is from today’s ‘Belfast Newsletter’.

I am not a ‘fan’ of Balaam the false prophet but I wholehearted agree with him when he is reported by the Holy Ghost as saying:

“How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!” Numbers 23:8-10.

I am surely not wrong in finding common ground on this matter with Balaam. Read more

Answer to letter in today’s ‘Belfast Newsletter’ (Dec 21, 2020)

Christ takes precautions!

My response to a deluded detractor

Below is my response to a detractor’s attempted rebuttal to my earlier comments on John 7:1.

The following is the substance of what I had to send to one who, upon receiving my email containing my comments on John 7:1, sent out this morning, replied in a most vexing manner. That person indicated what they thought of me and my attempts to serve the Lord. The email opened with the words: “Rev Foster, you are not applying the Scripture correctly…again!”

I replied as follows to the writer:

“You are the perfect example of the little axiom: ‘There is none so blind as he who will not see!’ Read more

Letter in reply to L Barker

I want to share this hasty response to the rather lengthy rebuke, just discovered, addressed to me by Mr Luke Barker in today’s ‘Belfast Newsletter’.

Dear Editor,

Mr Luke Barker’s letter in today’s ‘News letter’ is long in verbiage but not correspondingly overflowing with logic or indeed with Biblical exegesis!

In the past I have supported him in protests he has mounted but now I find that I am the target of his vociferous rebukes!

His is too long a letter to answer line by line but perhaps I could blow a hole or two in this apparently formidable edifice and thus show it is not quite as impressive as it might at first appear but rather is somewhat ‘full of sound and fury’ and to a large degree, ‘signifying nothing’ other than a few ‘woof, woofs! An important truth to be considered by those hoping for revival

“The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah. I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD. I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD. I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem,” Zephaniah 1:1-4.

As the year progresses from season to season we may inform ourselves as to the weather we are likely to encounter by simply looking back to what the same season brought in former years. There is a vital lesson there for the Christian. It is a truth found in the Bible. “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun,” Ecclesiastes 1:9. Read more

Letter to Belfast Newsletter

Dear Sir,

I really should not be amazed at the failure of people to read what one writes before taking up their pen to ‘profoundly disagree’ with what they imagine your views to be.

Mr Stephen Richards of Ballymena says in a letter printed today: “Mr Foster is entitled to believe that video link church services are an adequate substitute for physical gatherings, but most of us know that he’s wrong about this. As for meeting in the open air, I don’t think that would have been such a good idea on that freezing day.”

I don’t think that is what I said but I would certainly believe that video links or standing in the freezing cold may well be a ’substitute’ for gathering in a building when the medical guides to whose directives we submit  for our general health from day to day, inform us that such a gathering is likely to spread infections that could very well kill many, and indeed, have.

I can well imagine that countless thousands of persecuted believers throughout the past centuries or even those today in many lands would be glad if they were able to gather so and count such a gathering as adequate.
How welcome would have been a video link to our Covenanting forefathers in Scotland! They would have welcomed such ‘inadequacies’ at times!

My reason for replying to Pastor Patterson’s article was that I and the majority of Bible-believing Christians in Northern Ireland, including the majority of Baptists it would appear, were being accused of cowardly submission to an ungodly decree issued by the Stormont executive.
Pastor Patterson said in his defence of his actions: “Church leaders were quick to close the doors of the meeting house, without any Scriptural warrant, and thereby preventing God’s people from gathering to worship Him as He has commanded.”
Such an accusation had to be replied to, especially in the light that it would appear Tandragee Baptists readily and to my knowledge, uncomplainingly, complied with the restrictions placed upon church building opening earlier this year!

I would direct readers to my webpage (ivanfoster.org) where they will see all that I have said on the issue as I do not intend replying to any more misrepresentations of my views.

Sincerely, Rev Ivan Foster (Rtd), Kilskeery.

My answer to Pastor Patterson’s rather pathetic response to my public comments on his defying of the anti-covidvirus regulations and his opening of his church for worship

Below is my answer to Pastor Patterson’s response to my comments on his stance on the Covid -19 virus which were published in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ some days ago.

He mounted his response on his own church webpage without ever informing me – a strange way indeed to ‘earnestly contend for the faith’!

The whole thrust of the pastor and his supporters’ argument seems to be that the virus is of no real significance and that those who take precautions are a lot of fools and weaklings!

I cannot imagine that this attitude engenders much comfort to the hundreds of families who have lost loved ones to the virus. I just hope that he does not have to explain just where his notions were wrong, should there be an outbreak of infections in Tandragee! Read more

Wise words from 100 years ago

Rev Stephen Hamiliton sent me the link and the quote from the sermon reproduced below. I am most grateful to brother Stephen for finding this ‘treasure’!

I am not familiar with all that Rev Grimke may have said or written so I cannot endorse him without reservation but on this topic he spoke the truth and it is good to have his witness from over 100 years ago.

Please read the sermon and see that things have not changed to any great degree, especially the foolish ‘grumblings’ of some!

Another thing that has impressed me, in connection with this epidemic, is the fact that conditions may arise in a community which justify the extraordinary exercise of powers that would not be tolerated under ordinary circumstances. This extraordinary exercise of power was resorted to by the Commissioners in closing up the theaters, schools, and churches, in forbidding all gatherings of any considerable number of people indoors and outdoors, and in restricting the numbers who should be present even at funerals. The ground of the exercise of this extraordinary power was found in the imperative duty of the officials to safeguard, as far as possible, the health of the community by preventing the spread of the disease from which we were suffering. There has been considerable grumbling, I know, on the part of some, particularly in regard to the closing of the churches. It seems to me, however, in a matter like this it is always wise to submit to such restrictions for the time being. If, as a matter of fact, it was dangerous to meet in theaters and in the schools, it certainly was no less dangerous to meet in churches…” Read more

Were Tandragee Baptists right to defy the anti-virus regulations and assemble together on the Sabbath Day past?

Much has been made by a few evangelicals of the issue of closing churches in an effort to avoid further spreading the covid virus. They would say that to do so is a contravention of God’s command to worship Him.

Tandragee Baptists have featured in that protest by refusing to obey the directive and opened their premises for worship on the Lord’s Day past. I do not know if they have maintained that position throughout the earlier periods of lockdown that began back in March or whether this is a newly discovered ‘conviction’!

However, I believe that they are wrong and this article sets forth my reasons.

I write this because I know there are Christians troubled about the matter and I am anxious to set forth what I believe is the Word of God. I trust that all find the article helpful. Read more

Some facts about Covid-19 vaccines and foetal tissue

IRA still armed and active!

If there was one ounce, indeed a fraction of an ounce, of decency and integrity within the ranks of the DUP it would immediately break all links with Sinn Fein and bring the unutterably shameful Stormont Executive down in ignominy.

The following report, taken from the Belfast Newsletter of 2nd December 2020, gives cause enough to DUP members to act so!

Of course, we have been here before! Decency and integrity were mutilated and cast aside in 2007 by the DUP when it went into partnership with Sinn Fein/IRA and that for mere party and personal political and monetary gain. Read more

The covid vaccine – To have or not to have??

“Thou shalt not kill,” Exodus 20:13.

“Coronavirus: First NI vaccinations ‘to happen next week’ ” – so ran the headline on a news site this morning. But in the light of this, what is the Christian’s attitude to the vaccine to be?

The word ‘kill’ in the 6th Commandment is equivalent to ‘murder’. The Hebrew word is translated in Numbers 35:16 as ‘murderer’ twice. There are instances when it is quite proper and legitimate to kill but it is never right to murder. Cain was a murderer and suffers even now as a result (1 John 3:12) whereas Samuel killed Agag the Amalekite king quite properly, 1 Samuel 15:33.

I believe it must be seen as an especially heinous crime to kill a child and how much more to slaughter an unborn child in the womb! Read more

Pat Finucane was in the IRA

Yesterday, Northern Ireland Secretary of State, Brandon Lewis, told the House of Commons that there would not be at this time, a public inquiry into the murder of Pat Finucane, the Belfast Republican lawyer shot by Loyalist paramilitaries back in 1989.

Immediately after yesterday’s announcement, Pat Finucane’s son John, the Sinn Féin MP for North Belfast, said he and his family would continue to campaign for an inquiry and that he may look for support from United States President-elect Joe Biden. “When he was then Senator Biden, as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he supported our calls for an inquiry,” Mr Finucane said on the BBC’s Good Morning Ulster programme. “But President-elect Biden has already shown a clear interest in Irish affairs, he has history in supporting our campaign and I think that America has always had a significant role to play in our peace process, certainly in our campaign.”

Irish Americans like Biden have ever shown sympathy for the cause of Irish Republicanism while turning a blind eye to the murderous campaign of the IRA. The year Finucane was murdered, twenty-six soldiers and nine policemen were murdered by the IRA. There has been no public inquiry for them or their families!!!

Here, republicans and their bedfellows gave vent to the usual howls at the announcement by the Secretary of State. The BBC reported: “Sinn Féin, the SDLP, Alliance and the Green Party have shown their support for the family’s calls for a public inquiry in a letter to Mr Lewis. In the letter, sent to the NI secretary on Tuesday evening, party representatives described Mr Lewis’ position as ‘neither credible nor tenable’, and said it was an “insult” to the Finucane family.”

I am republishing an article from “The Burning Bush“ of May 2003 which contains statements from a former prominent IRA man, Sean O’Callaghan, who has publicly stated that Pat Finucane was a prominent IRA member and not the ‘peace campaigner’ he is made out to be!

I for one fervently look forward to that day when “ . . . . all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death,” Revelation 21:8. Read more

Are liberals waking up to Republican duplicity

The author of this article which we copied from the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ of 25th November, is, I believe, a man of ‘liberal views’. I don’t think that I misrepresent him when I say that. He would not be identified as one from the ‘right’ in the political field here in Northern Ireland. There are indications within the article of Mr Ringland’s preference for the ‘liberal’ understanding of problems that have beset our Province. For example he says: ‘It should also be borne in mind that the British government genuinely wants the people of this Island to live peacefully together.’

I hold no such understanding of the British government’s objective! Whether we live in peace is of no real consequence to London. Rather, I believe that shoving us under a ‘United Ireland’ and out of its hair, is its real intent. Whether that results in peace or the slaughter of the Unionist population is of no concern to Westminster. Read more

Exodus from the C of E threatened – not likely!!!

Copied below is a report contained in the English newspaper, “The Guardian”. It was sent to me by a friend.

Let me state immediately that I do not believe for a moment what the bishop who is quoted, Julian Henderson, the bishop of Blackburn, says about an ‘Exodus’!

He is reported as further saying: “As and when the church gets to the point where it changes its teaching and its liturgy and its practice in these areas, it is going to be a moment for people to have to reconsider their allegiance to the church.”

Why do I not believe the Bishop? Simply because the Church of England has for a very long time, indeed for hundreds of years, been abandoning “its teaching and its liturgy and its practice”. Read more

Report on God’s Work in Lisbellaw in 1970

This message was delivered on a Sabbath morning service in Martyrs Memorial FPC in 1970.

Rev. Ivan Foster had been asked by Dr. Paisley to give a report on the work in Lisbellaw, and the church also kindly gave an offering that morning in order to help in the building of what became known as Bethel Free Presbyterian Church.

This meeting gives something of the spirit that was at work amongst the Free Presbyterian people fifty years ago. It should stir hearts and awaken a longing for such times to come again amongst us.

For those who are too young to remember those days, may you have your heart stirred by this recording. Here you will hear of the desires for Christian Schools voiced, and a very brief report of some of the conversions and blessings that attended the preaching of the gospel in Lisbellaw in those days.

One of the first converts from Kilskeery went to be with the Lord recently. She was part of a group of folk who were drawn over to Lisbellaw by reports of the gospel blessing there, where she was converted.

That group soon was moved to build a gospel hall in 1974, on a site donated by that lady and her husband, and that hall later became Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church in 1977.

Rev. Ivan Foster moved to Kilskeery as minister in 1978.

Presbytery statement to be read in churches on Sunday November 22nd, 2020.

In a Zoom Meeting of the General Presbytery of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster, held on Saturday 21st of November, the following statement was presented and accepted with reference to the Presbytery’s view on the Stormont Executive’s proposed two-week lockdown. It was also agreed that this statement would be read in our churches on Sunday 22nd November, issued to the public press and sent to the Stormont Executive:

As a Presbytery we wish to make known publicly our views upon the recently introduced lockdown measures to be in place for a further two weeks. While we agree with the efforts of government to control and minimise the effects of Covid-19, and while we are concerned about the effects of lock-down measures upon society in terms of the material welfare of the citizens of this Province, yet above all else, the closure of places of public worship for a further two weeks is of major concern and regret to us. We would remind Legislators that assembling to worship in public gatherings is an essential right and privilege bestowed on mankind by God as Creator and Redeemer in order to provide for the spiritual and mental well-being of humanity. We would also remind Legislators that, as history clearly reveals, liberty to worship according to Scripture and the Gospel has contributed to the material stability and prosperity of society. Therefore, while we are prepared to be in subjection to government guidelines with respect to Covid-19 in terms of this proposed two-week closure of places of worship, we would urge upon the Stormont Executive that they must make every possible effort to ensure that there are no further such closures. We would also urge the Stormont Executive to issue a call to prayer for the intervention of Almighty God in the face of this pandemic that He might graciously remove it.”

Booze – the legalised killer

I return to a theme I have touched upon before, though now with a slightly different emphasis.

I am aghast at the many Christians in the political world who are caught up in the cry to protect the booze industry from the effects of the necessary steps taken to curb the spread of the Coronavirus and the many others who remain silent as those with whom they are linked ignore their defence of the indefensible!

There is a terrible slackening of the lines of separation from the world on the part of those who belong to a denomination which remonstrates against alcohol yet tolerates those within its ranks who are associated with those who lobby in favour of the sellers of booze.
Sadly, this is the case with the Free Presbyterians associated with the DUP. They cannot escape the ’touching’ of that which is ‘unclean’ when fellow-members of the DUP are so vociferous in the defence of the ‘hospitality’ sector, more correctly called the ‘booze sellers’! Read more

Police duplicity

The following report from ‘The Belfast Newsletter’ will vex and shame many in the ranks of the Police Service of Northern Ireland!

Faithful members, who have, and still do, face the threat of terrorism from Republicans, will doubtless be angry at the senior members of the force who are to blame for this political and cowardly inactivity in the face of blatant breaches of the law. The police were swiftly sent against those deemed less likely to arouse any political ‘backlash’ but have, it would appear, not been allowed to act against the highly published breaches by hundreds of Sinn Fein members, including Michelle O’Neill and other senior members of the IRA-supporting party. Read more

Press statement agreed by the Presbytery of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster

The General Presbytery of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster, at its monthly meeting held on 13th November 2020, agreed on and passed the following statement:

“We, the Ministers and Ruling Elders of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster – in recognising that by means of Covid19 the Lord’s hand of chastening for our sins has been placed upon our own nation and other nations also; and in the face of the spiralling ‘second wave’ of the virus; and discerning that man does not have the answer to it; and lamenting that our government has not humbled itself to call on Almighty God for His merciful intervention; and believing that all who profess to be God’s people should now turn to Him in contrition over our own sins and the sins of our nation; and rejoicing that there is pardon for sin through the finished work of Christ the one Mediator between God and men – hereby issue this call to seek Him in repentance from sin that He might forgive us for our transgressions of His Holy Law and remove this virus from our midst to the healing of our land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The voice of the merchants beginning to dominate

I have been increasingly conscious of the dominating role of the merchant in the nation’s affairs.

For the child of God the imperative we seek to live by is “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This is so, because God is the fountain of all good, and pleasing Him ensures us of His blessing which, the wise man said: “maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it,” Proverbs 10:22.

But once God ceases to be a feature of man’s thinking then another exigency takes over, the laying up of “treasures upon earth,” Matthew 6:19.

That is the ‘modus operandi’ of today’s society! Everywhere we see the slaves of money-making toiling away and greedily grasping for ever more of this world’s goods. Nothing is permitted to get in the way of enrichment, not even the physical wellbeing of the young, the old, the vulnerable or the weak. Read more

The Final Abomination

The Church of England is reported to be ready to take the final and ultimate step in its apostasy from God!

It is preparing to endorse ‘same-sex’ marriage and declare that sodomy is not a sin!

The Bible makes it clear that ‘sodomy’ is the ultimate sin that leads on to God’s judgment. That truth was displayed in Sodom and Gomorrah. It is reiterated in Paul’s Epistle to the Romans.

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, andworshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For thiscause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use intothat which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, andreceiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did notlike to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient,” Romans 1:24-28. Read more

The DUP are now the defenders of the interests of the pubs of Ulster!!

It was Dr Paisley who famously defined alcoholic drinks as the ‘Devil’s Buttermilk’!

The cartoon below had this is on mind as it directs mockery at the present stance of the DUP on the extending of lockdown restrictions to the various places where alcoholic drinks are sold. They are most anxious about the commercial wellbeing of the ‘booze’ trade!

Former prominent DUP member and Assembly minister, Simon Hamilton, is now chief Executive of the Belfast Chamber, the voice of ’the hospitality trade’, a euphemism for the booze merchants! Read more

The Murderous Madness of Modern Morality

The Bible says: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” Isaiah 5:20-21.

Such a philosophy has taken control of the national thinking here in the United Kingdom. Laws, contrary to God’s Law, are passed and accepted by the majority almost without question.

IT IS NOW UNLAWFUL TO PROPERLY DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILD BUT LAWFUL TO MURDER IT IN THE WOMB! Read more

Report of the death of Dr Alan Cairns

I send out the following report of the death of Dr Alan Cairns which appeared in the ‘Belfast Telegraph’ of November 7th.

Dr Cairn’s funeral took place today in Ballygowan Free Presbyterian graveyard. The funeral service and the memorial service, held later in the afternoon in Hebron Church in Ballymoney, may be seen at Hebron Free Presbyterian Church Facebook and Sermonaudio websites.

Church of Ireland sit by as their minister leads sodomite ‘Pride’ parade

Isaiah 56:10: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”

Two recurring themes within the Church of Ireland is its deafening silence on issues which should appal any true child of God and its utter inactivity when presented with a minister who openly defies God.

Both of these matters came sharply into focus recently with the sad case of Rev Andrew Rawding, one of its ministers in County Tyrone.

His apostate actions in leading a procession in celebration of sodomite ‘Pride’ are frankly outrageous, but the Church of Ireland steadfastly refuses to do anything about it. Read more on the Protestant Revival website

NHS in NI murder 721 babies since April 2020

This is a sad and appalling report which reveals the two-facedness of some in the NHS here in Ulster. It is reported today in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ that: “There have been eight additional Covid-19 related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours the Department of Health (DoH) has confirmed . . . . . An additional 493 individuals tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. . . . A total of 4,949 individuals have tested positive in the last seven days – this takes the grand total of infections since the beginning of the pandemic to 39,609.”

There is a very intense struggle by medics to contain the pandemic. How tragically sad that another department of the NHS is engaged in something very different from those battling Coronavirus! They have been responsible for the deliberate death of almost the same number of deaths from the virus here in Ulster, and that only since since April past! The official number of Coronavirus deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, around the beginning of March past, published today (2.11.20) is 724 while the number of abortions since the beginning of April past, according to figures obtained by TUV leader, Mr Jim Allister, are 719. Read more

This Is The ‘Peaceful’ Religion A Blinded Uk Welcomed To Its Shores

I need not tell you what prompted me to write this article! Sadly, the horrific events in France a few days ago, are not unusual but have become increasingly common over recent years. The wicked cruelty of Islam has been manifested more and more on the streets of Europe.

This religion has been afforded a place of acceptance and esteem within the ranks of our nation. Such an action can but reap a whirlwind of horror.

Let us be aware of the Bible’s warnings and revelations regarding the advance of evil in the last days and the comforts God offers to His people in the midst of this flood.

“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him,” Isaiah 59:19. Read more

‘This Is The Finger Of God!’

“Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said,” Exodus 8:19.

Some of the recent media headlines serve to show the ‘unnatural’ character of the Coronavirus outbreak. It is apparently defeating the best that science and money can throw at it, as nations struggle to hinder its spread and increase.

The devil accused in the wrong

It is the desire of all true ministers of the gospel to see God’s people walk in the paths of truth.

Nothing is more readily understood by the true under shepherd than that the devil, the ‘master of lies and deception’ is ever seeking to mislead the flock of God.

It does not take much to get us off the right path. Just one word of God’s truth substituted by the devil’s lie is enough!

In this article I seek to address the false notion that the coronavirus is the work of the devil and not the Lord. I need not explain just how misleading that would be if it is embraced by Christians!bHere are some Scriptures which deal with the matter of the Lord smiting nations and men with plagues! Read more

Pope endorses sodomy

Here is further evidence of the rapid decline into darkness that is taking place around us.

The Bible says that as a man “thinketh in his heart, so is he,” Proverbs 23:7.

This article which we have attached, quotes the Pope endorsing sodomy and ’same-sex’ unions, and also shows that this has been his mind since his earliest days. For the Pope to say this will perhaps shock some.

No Shock!

It ought not to for Popery has been a fountain of iniquity since its inception with its priests openly associated with, engaged in and seeking to shield and shelter those within their ranks who engage in this perversion! The recent history in Ireland ought to tell the poor deluded Irish Roman Catholic this fact! Read more

The Sad Consequences Of Being Linked To Wicked Men

This morning my daily reading included the last chapter of 1st Kings, chapter 22. It features the sad departure of good King Jehoshaphat from the truth of God when he entered into a political allegiance with the evil King Ahab, a man notorious for his wickedness.

Of Ahab we read: “And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him. And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him,” 1 Kings 16:30-33. Read more

Perfumes And Deodorants . . . . They Testify Of Our Sinfulness!

“For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness,” Psalm 38:4-5.

It is a quite remarkable thing that King David, despite all his military engagements, never was wounded. At least there is no record in Scripture of him every suffering any injuries in battle. The nearest he came to a wounding was his near fatal encounter in his latter years with one of the offspring of Goliath.

“Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint. And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel,” 2 Samuel 21:15-17.

But apart from this incident I believe it correct to say that the Lord kept David safe on the battlefield. Read more

Cowardly compromise

Below is a letter I sent off to the Belfast Newsletter on October 12th in response to its article on the question of a complete ‘lock down’ in Northern Ireland.

The article highlights the misgivings of DUP MP, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson and is reproduced below.

Sadly, it appears he has not the courage to confront the reason why the whole country may well suffer a lock down rather than those areas, due to their defiance of the social distancing rules, have seen an increase in the numbers of infections.

Sir,

Why does not some Unionist politician highlight why the Stormont Executive is not considering a ‘local lockdown’ where the infection rate is highest?

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson dances around the topic but fails to come right out and denounce the compromise of which his Party leader is guilty! Read more

Playing the two ends against the middle

If the thinking of the British government of the WW 2 era was as muddled and confused as is today’s political leadership, then we today would likely still be living under Nazi rule!

There is a measure of ‘befuddlement’ in political life today that is unsurpassed by anything history can produce!

There is a simple reason for this! Despite the presence of Oxford and Cambridge graduates galore within parliament and doubtless brains aplenty, there is hardly an ounce of gumption between them all.

WHY? The answer is simple. When it comes to that wisdom whereby we walk in a path of peace and prosperity, mankind is utterly lacking!

Those who believe and embrace the Bible will find the ‘path of life’ for it is revealed there for all to enjoy who will trust the Author of it – the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore,” Psalm 16:11. Read more
