What is justice? Supergrass Gary Haggarty sentence leaves UVF victim’s son ‘gutted’ – six years for five murders
Since the British government began doing deals with terrorists, republican and loyalist, shameful decisions like that reported here in this article have taken place.
It must be remembered that British policy resulted in members of the terrorist IRA, guilty of the slaughter of hundreds of innocents, being granted immunity in all but name and exalted to power in the Stormont power-sharing regime, with the aid of the DUP.
That is a scandal that casts into the shade today’s court ruling regarding UVF man Haggarty. At least he was sent to jail, if only for six years.
It is more like justice than did making former IRA terrorists Stormont’s rulers! Read more…
Unionist fury after new Sinn Fein leader ‘glorifies’ IRA bomber

Muslims are as much a part of community as I am, says DUP MP
Jim Shannon, the DUP MP, is something of an ‘eejit’, to use an Ulsterism!
Nothing demonstrates that more than his participating in “an inter-faith celebration in Omagh for greater understanding towards religious minorities”, back at the beginning of January. He is, I understand, a Baptist but to take part in a gathering which would equate Roman Catholicism, the Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Baha’i faiths with the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ is a wicked blasphemy for which he ought to be ashamed.
However, I suspect that Mr Shannon is utterly ignorant of any error on his part in this enterprise!! Read more…

Violence, gross immorality and defiance of all that is godly: The marks of a world on the verge of judgement
By Rev Ivan Foster (Rtr)
It is said that the human heart and mind can become used to just about anything!
Looking back on the horrendous bombing raids on London by the German Luftwaffe in the early part of the Second World War, it is impossible for this generation to understand how the citizens were able to carry on with life with a remarkable degree of normality! Yet the men, women and children did so most heroically. After a time, they later said, ‘one became used to the nightly raids, the noise, the destruction, the chaos and the tragic deaths of neighbours and family members and struggled on with life.’
Such stoicism is to be considered as uncomplaining courage.
However, there is a tolerance within today’s society which is anything but admirable. I am referring to the remarkable lack of response to the increasingly widespread violence, immorality and perversity abounding in every layer of society. Read more…
Theresa May’s deputy says Britain may rejoin the EU
The Bible clearly teaches that England, as part of the old Roman Empire, will be part of the end-time anti-christian politic-religious coalition referred to in Revelation 6:12-17 & chapters 13, 17-19. The UK may well withdraw from the present EU but England will become part of a future amalgam of nations opposed to Christ and His Truth which will be judged by Him upon His return. Read the report…
Enoch – An illustration of the importance of watching for the return of Christ as an incentive to holiness.
The most remarkable thing recorded in the Bible about Enoch, a man of the seventh generation from Adam and whose life span would have been overlapped by that of Adam by some 308 years, according to calculations based upon figures given in Genesis 5, was his avoidance of death. Genesis 5:24 says, “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” This truth is further stated in Hebrews 11:5. “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
That makes him, along with Elijah the prophet, unique amongst humanity.
But there are two other facts about Enoch which are especially worth noting. He walked with God and he had the coming again of Christ ever before him. Read more…

McElduff is the true heart of Sinn Fein/IRA which party managers would like to keep under wraps and out of sight!
McElduff’s “apology” is an insult to the intelligence of those to whom he addresses it. Does he really expect them to believe him???

The increasing animosity to the gospel in the United Kingdom
Mr. Richard Page
A recent news report gave the details of how a Christian magistrate was sacked and then suspended from his position as non-executive director by Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
His crime? Mr. Richard Page was struck off after he told the BBC it would be better for a man and a woman to adopt a child!
That is stating a simple truth, long held sacred in this land, in a very mild manner but for this he was removed as a magistrate.
Speaking about his views he said, “My responsibility as a magistrate, as I saw it, was to do what I considered best for the child. My feeling was therefore that it would be better if it was a man and woman who were the adoptive parents.” Read more…
Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger, Lamentations 1:12.
(A gospel message preached in Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church by the then minister, Rev Ivan Foster, on Lord’s Day morning, 17th January 1999)
What a mountain of triviality occupies the interest of mankind! This is never more obvious than at ‘Easter’ time! Bunnies and chocolate eggs take precedence over the glorious events of the Saviour’s sufferings, death and resurrection.
There are those in the scientific world who are renowned for their knowledge of bugs and beetles, lice and leeches. Some men ceaselessly gaze at the stars in order to catch a glimpse of some unbeknown lump of matter. Others sift the soil and the slime of the earth’s surface in order to discover something new about the creatures that once roamed the earth. The activities of bats and birds, of the antelope and the ant, of the leopard and the lizard have all been studied at length by men consumed with an interest in such things.
But no man has a desire of himself to examine the sufferings of Christ on the cross. When an invitation is given to consider Calvary, all with one consent begin to make excuse. Read more…or listen using the player below.
Below is a link to an article by Ralph Ovadal entitled: “The Downward Spiral of Dr. Joel Beeke’s Ministries Continues.”
Pastor Ovadal has once again sounded a faithful, fearless warning to the people of God regarding the false claims made for the ministry of Dr Joel Beeke.
Dr Beeke has surpassed Dr Billy Graham in his heyday of duplicity when the likes of Dr Bob Jones Sn sounded forth a warning against his sinful compromises and cooperation with modernists and liberals. Billy Graham did not show sympathy for, share conferences with or support openly the wicked blasphemies of so-called sodomite ‘Christians’!
Ralph Ovadal shows that Dr Beeke has and continues to do just that.
This is an article every minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ should read and pass amongst their flock.
A brief account of the work of God in Ireland over the last 1500 years
by Rev. Ivan Foster.
The Gospel of Christ came to Ireland over 1500 years ago. Despite many attempts by Satan and his agents God has been pleased to maintain His truth in this land. Following its first planting the Gospel was carried by men whose hearts the Lord had touched into many neighbouring countries: Scotland, England, Wales, France, Germany, Switzerland and further. God has been pleased, in some measure, to do again in these latter days what He did in those distant days. May the land, now associated with terror and strife, become known again by the title it was then given, “The land of Saints and Scholars.”
The history of the Gospel in Ireland begins, to a very real degree, with the story of Patrick. There is much written about Patrick that is entirely fictitious. We can, however, be reasonably sure concerning his faith in Christ and the doctrines that he preached. There exist today two of his writings accepted by all scholars. One is his Confession. From his Confession we learn that his father was a deacon, the son of Potitus, a gospel minister. Where Patrick was actually born is something of a mystery. England, Scotland, Wales and even France all claim to be the place of his birth. In his Confession he tells us that he came from a village called Bonavem Taberniae. Where that village was is difficult now to say. It would appear that the most likely place was somewhere in Roman Britain. Very possibly he came from a place now called Kilpatrick, that is, the ‘Church of Patrick’, near Dumbarten in the Firth of Clyde, in Scotland. Read more…
Both pro-EU and anti-EU spokesmen have referred to this debate as the most important for a generation! Editor’s correspondence with ‘Father’ Patrick McCafferty
Pastor James McConnell and the RC priest Patrick McCafferty with whom he is most friendly
Back in 2002, I entered into a correspondence in the pages of “The Burning Bush” with a Roman Catholic priest from Belfast. The correspondence arose after I wrote a letter in reply to an article by the priest in “The Belfast Telegraph” of August 24th, 2002.
I was grieved at such a platform being given to the errors and deceptions of Rome and commented on the priest’s article in a letter to “The Belfast Telegraph.”
It will be noted how our two replies to the priest were edited by the ‘Letters Editor’ of “The Belfast Telegraph” before they quickly closed the exchange after two exchanges.
The Word of God was not liked by that ecumenical newspaper back then and it is still the case. Every effort was made to shield and protect the priest of Rome from the rebuke of God’s Word.
We are republishing the correspondence, which continued for eight exchanges, and appeared in “The Burning Bush” from October 2002 until May 2003, because of the publicity given to the ‘warm relationship’ that was manifested between this priest and Pastor James McConnell during the recent trial occasioned by Pastor McConnell’s pulpit statements about Islam. Pastor McConnell asked ‘Father’ Patrick McCafferty to speak on his behalf during the trial.
All this “ecumenical camaraderie” between the pastor and the priest may appear to some to give endorsement of the teachings of Rome and it is for this reason we highlight again the errors this priest, like all Roman Catholic clerics, propagates.
Needless to say, it also highlights the folly of James McConnell!

A house divided cannot stand
“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand,” Matthew 12:25.
The above verse, containing that very well known and wise adage declared by the Lord Jesus, was referred to recently by a friend from up the country, when discussing with me the situation that prevails within the Free Presbyterian Church.
There has undoubtedly been a division within the denomination since the days when Dr Paisley went into power-sharing with Sinn Fein. That decision entailed a going back from and an abandoning of long-standing principles.
THIS IS WHAT STORMONT HAS BEEN ‘SAVED’ TO CONTINUE – THE FINANCING OF WICKEDNESS!!
TUV’s Jim Allister questions the use of money to finance immorality and blasphemy, the very matter the Free Presbyterian Church Government and Morals Committee has protested against! (See article – ‘Protest at blasphemous play’)
Subject: Written Answer AQW 50864/11-16 – Outburst Queer Arts Festival
“To ask the Minister for Social Development for his assessment of use of his Department’s funds to support the Outburst Queer Arts Festival in Belfast in staging The Gospel According to Jesus Queen of Heaven.”
The Minister’s answer to the question is given below.
“The Outburst Arts Festival made an application for funding from the Belfast City Centre Event Grant Scheme for a festival that is running from the 13 – 21 November 2015 with events taking place in various venues across the City. The application was assessed by Departmental officials against set criteria and an offer of funding was made. The grant was not specific to any particular event within the festival programme.”
Here is an admission by the Minster that his Department did fund the ‘Festival’ which included the blasphemous ‘Gospel according to Jesus Queen of Heaven’!!!
The Minister for Social Development is Mervyn Storey MLA, a Free Presbyterian elder!!!
Thus we have the tragic situation of the Free Presbyterian Government and Morals Committee condemning this wickedness while a member of that Presbytery heads a Department in Stormont that is helping to finance that very wickedness!
This is the situation that compromise, silence, fear and a ‘stick your head in the sand’ attitude toward the sin of power-sharing with the IRA has brought us.
It is time for ordinary Free Presbyterian members to make their views known to Presbytery on this shameful situation.
“Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate,” Jeremiah 44:4.
Rev Ivan Foster (Rtr)
18th November, 2015.
Below is a response to a further question asked by Jim Allister MLA of the Minister for Social Development, Mr Mervyn Storey.
Subject: Written Answer AQW 50866/11-16 – Outburst Queer Arts Festival
To ask the Minister for Social Development (i) what funding his Department and its arm’s-length bodies have provided to Outburst Queer Arts Festival; (ii) to outline the purpose of such funding; and (iii) what funding went towards the staging of The Gospel According to Jesus Queen of Heaven.
In response to the three questions you raised in relation to the Outburst Queer Arts Festival I would advise as follows: My Department has provided grant funding of £3.5k towards the cost of the 2015 festival. This grant was a contribution towards the overall costs for venue hire and artists fees for the festival. This grant was not offered for any specific event within the festival programme.
So, £3500 of public money was paid by Mr Storey’s department to aid a festival which included the wicked depiction of the Lord Jesus Christ as a “transexual”!!! It is beyond belief that a professing Christian can be guilty of such a betrayal of the Lord Jesus by aiding to any degree this vile, unspeakable blasphemy.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty,” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
The letter below is from the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster Government and Morals Committee protesting against a blasphemous play in Belfast.
The newspapers to which it was sent did not print it!!
Your paper on Monday contained the details of a theatre production. This production is a blatant blasphemous attack on the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ and deeply offensive to the Christian community.
Blasphemy is defined as the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God.
The Bible declares in Revelation 17:14 that Jesus Christ is “Lord of lords and King of kings” but the title of this play links the name of Jesus with the phrase “queen of heaven”. This deliberate inaccuracy is irreverent and, as such, blasphemous.
The content of the play displays the Lord Jesus Christ as being transgender while the teaching of the Bible leaves no doubt that this view is false.
The Lord Jesus Christ is eternally named the “Son of God”, we think of the well known text of Scripture in John 3:16 and we read of the “only begotten Son”.
In regard to the incarnation of Christ, words are often quoted from Luke 1:35 when Mary is told “that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God”.
At the time of the crucifixion, we read that the title “King of the Jews” was displayed by Pontus Pilate.
To invent another Jesus is an attempt to present another god and another way of salvation. Christ clearly stated in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
In an interview with “The Scotsman” in 2009 the writer of this play stated that the production was “about rescuing Jesus from the fundamentalists”. The Lord Jesus Christ does not need to be rescued. He came to “seek and to save” those who are ensnared in a life of sin. This is a universal condition but the same means of salvation is available to all, for we read in Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Festival director Ruth McCarthy states, “the christian values of love, tolerance and understanding are at the forefront of this piece.” However, she is deeply mistaken in that view.
When the Lord Jesus Christ spoke of love, He said “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” You cannot love God if you blaspheme His name and person. Rather, we should live in obedience to His commands.
To display such a production is grievous in the sight of a holy God and shows no regard for the many Bible-believing Christians in this land. Therefore we call upon the organisers to stop this event.
Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster Government and Morals Committee
“Prophetic Truth maintained from the Apostles until now”
Synopsis of a message preached at Kilskeery Annual Conference on Saturday 31st October, 2015,
by Rev Brian McClung (Newtownabbey Free Presbyterian Church)
“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus…But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.” 2 Timothy 1:13, 3:14
There were ‘things’ which Paul taught Timothy which he wanted this young man to ‘hold fast’ and to ‘continue…in’.
Among these ‘sound words’ or doctrines, that Paul preached and taught, are references to the second coming of Jesus Christ to this earth. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come,” 2 Timothy 3:1. See also 2 Timothy 4:1,8. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom, . . . . . . Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” Isaiah 54:17
This day is notable in English history for two great deliverances wrought by God for us. On this day the plot of the Papists to destroy our Houses of Parliament was discovered, 1605.
“While for our princes they prepare
In caverns deep a burning snare,
He shot from heaven a piercing ray,
And the dark treachery brought to day.”
And secondly-to-day is the anniversary of the landing of King William III, at Torbay, by which the hope of Popish ascendancy was quashed, and religious liberty was secured, 1688.
This day ought to be celebrated, not by the saturnalia of striplings, but by the songs of saints. Our Puritan forefathers most devoutly made it a special time of thanksgiving. There is extant a record of the annual sermons preached by Matthew Henry on this day. Our Protestant feeling, and our love of liberty, should make us regard its anniversary with holy gratitude. Let our hearts and lips exclaim, “We have heard with our ears, and our fathers have told us the wondrous things which thou didst in their day, and in the old time before them.” Thou hast made this nation the home of the gospel; and when the foe has risen against her, thou hast shielded her. Help us to offer repeated songs for repeated deliverances. Grant us more and more a hatred of Antichrist, and hasten on the day of her entire extinction. Till then and ever, we believe the promise, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” Should it not be laid upon the heart of every lover of the gospel of Jesus on this day to plead for the overturning of false doctrines and the extension of divine truth? Would it not be well to search our own hearts, and turn out any of the Popish lumber of self-righteousness which may lie concealed therein?
Statement from the Government and Morals Committee of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster on the Northern Ireland Assembly debate on “Same-Sex Marriage.”
(As it appeared in the ‘Belfast Newsletter’ of November 2nd, 2015)
“For the fifth time in the space of three years the redefinition of marriage is to be debated in the Northern Ireland assembly, under the guise of it being a matter of equality.
It is very interesting to note the comment made by the NIHRC in their submission to the Legislative Consent Motion in 2013. They said:
“The jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (ECt.HR) and the United Nations Human Rights Committee (HRC) has confirmed that the restriction of the institution of marriage to opposite sex couples is not in violation of international human rights standards.”
So here are two international bodies mentioned and they say it is NOT an issue of equality, it is NOT a right!
Some would also say that we are falling behind the rest of the world and are dinosaurs but according to the statistics less than 10% of the member states in the UN have redefined marriage.
What we are witnessing is part of a liberal agenda to force Northern Ireland into redefining marriage despite the view of its people. Gerry Adams described equality as the “Trojan horse” and the Labour’s Ivan Lewis, the Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary said, “my party believes the government should give serious consideration to introduce legislation at Westminster to extend same-sex marriage to Northern Ireland”, in other words it should be forced upon Northern Ireland.
These views have little to do with rights or equality, rather it is one group wanting to ride rough-shod over everyone else with a differing opinion, regardless of the impact that it may have on children, families or society.
When we consider the treatment of Ashers Baking Company and any who challenge the LGBT agenda, Bible believing Christians are left feeling that they dare not express their dearly held opinions or they will be accused of hate crimes or will become the subject of a media witch hunt.
As a Denomination we hold to the Scriptural definition of marriage as that of one man and one woman for as long as they both shall live (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9). We believe that this is God’s pattern for the well-being of family life, in the bringing up of children and for the good of society at large. A deviation from this godly pattern has no benefits but rather will be the forerunner of more broken homes and broken lives.
Any sexual relationship outside of the marriage bond is contrary to the law of God and is sinful. This is not to be construed as hatred against the individual rather it is love that warns them of the consequences of such conduct for by the words of Paul we learn that there were those in his congregation who had been saved and changed from such lifestyles. (1 Cor 6:9-11).”

A message preached at a special season of prayer on the 41st anniversary of the opening of the first gospel hall here in Kilskeery.
The Book of Judges is in many ways a most distressing book for it records the follies of man when he departs from God’s truth and follows his own evil desires. There is a statement which explains the spirit of that day. “In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes,” Judges 21:25, (17:6).
The staggering from folly to folly, from wickedness to wickedness recorded in this book is the outcome of that policy.
Chapters 19-20 contain an account which is distressing to read yet it is an narrative of the words and actions of the people of God some 20 years after the renewing of the covenant with the Lord that is recorded in Joshua 24:14-28. What a solemn covenant this was and yet what wickedness existed among the people here in Judges 19-20, just 20 years later, and 40 years after Moses.
The deeds of the Benjamites in the city of Gibeah, as stated in chapter 19:22, are but a repeat of the wickedness of the Sodomites of Genesis 19:4. Sodomy can corrupt even the people of God. It is the SIN of today.
Sadly, this wickedness was defended by the rest of the tribe of Benjamin, 20:12-14.
In response to this sinful defence of the men of Gibeah, the whole tribe of Benjamin made itself guilty of the evil and the rest of the tribes of Israel set themselves to judge that sin.
It is the events that unfolded as they pursued that objective that I wish to consider today for there are lessons for us to learn from these events of some 3500 years ago.
An education acceptable to God
This is an excellent article on the subject of ‘Christian Education’ by Pastor Ralph Ovadal. It is directed primarily at an American audience but it deals with Bible principles which are applicable to all Christian parents, irrespective of where they live.
As Pharaoh sought the destruction of Israel by seeking to destroy the male Hebrew children, so that evil policy of seeking the destruction of the children of believers remains a chief weapon in the hand of the devil.
We prayerfully commend this article to all our readers. Please share it with Christian parents within your family circle.
Part 7: Remembering the words of the apostles about the latter-day apostasy
“These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit,” Jude 1:16-19.
Verses 16-17 of the epistle of Jude underscore for us yet again how events in the last days feature large in the Word of God.
In our last study, we considered the words of a man, the prophet Enoch, and what he had to say about the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Enoch’s ministry would have had the earliest generations of mankind sit under it, and that most likely included Adam!
At present the political parties in Nepal are debating a new constitution that includes anti-conversion laws and underscores decades-old religious tension. If ratified, the result could be a likely crackdown and severe persecution for dozens of Christian ministries serving there. It is feared that if this new constitution is adopted in its present draft form there could be great restriction on the freedom the Christians to share their faith with others.
The constitutional language in question states, ” any act which may be contrary to public health, public decency or morality or incitement to breach public peace or act to convert another person from one religion to another or any act or behaviour to undermine or jeopardize the religion of each other is not allowed and such act shall be punishable by law.”
The Nepalese government continues to seek input from its citizens before the Civic Relations and Constitution Recommendation Committee of the Constituent Assembly receives the final constitution draft on July 23. The government plans to finalize the constitution by mid-August. Violence erupted between police and protesters in southern Nepal when government officials held a public meeting to gain citizen input to the constitution, according to news reports from the region. The protesters threw chairs at the deputy prime minister.
This isolated country between India and China historically has been a Hindu nation, and most protesters are demanding a return to that status. Nepalese monarchs advocated Hinduism, and the people believed their monarchs were the reincarnation of Vishnu, a Hindu god.
Please pray that the government may adopt a constitution which allows Christians freedom to express and declare their faith

“The Frightening Prospect Facing the Cause of God in Ulster! ”
A sermon preached by Rev Ivan Foster in Newtownabbey FPC on Lord’s Day evening, 19th July, 2015.
Man is the same today as he was back in the times of the OT.
The Lord remains the same because, He is “infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. ”
The sin of men today therefore brings the same response from the Lord as ever it did.
The analysis of man’s condition and the only cure given by the Lord was accurate a thousand years ago and more and remains effective still.
That being so, we can scan the future in the Bible’s records of the past. What happened to Israel following its backsliding and sin will likewise happen to the converted Gentiles today.
It is for this reason that we can look at these verses and see what lies ahead of Ulster’s Christians if there is not a taking heed of the lessons laid down for us. We may say with Paul: “for our sakes, no doubt, this is written, ” 1 Corinthians 9:10.
The consequences of backsliding and defiance of God is most terrible indeed! Hear what God says. “I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage, ” Jeremiah 12:7-8.
The wonderful promise of Hebrews 13:5 must never be abused. That is not a promise without conditions. Disobedience of God is not ignored by Him.
The true believer will never be so wholly forsaken of God as to lose his soul but sin will cost us the presence and blessing of God just as it cost David such. Psalm 51:11-12.
That is the inevitable cost of sin in this life! Ulster’s Christians are facing a future void of these joys and blessings if there is not a heeding of the decline taking place amongst us.

The following article, though written for Australian readers in the context of the recent tragic events in Sydney, can be easily understood by readers here in the United Kingdom where the same stupid and blind “head-in-the-sand” attitude is adopted and propagated by the “liberal political elite” in the face of an even greater Muslim threat than that which faces Australia.
It is the spirit of Neville Chamberlain gone mad!!
Australia has woken to the devastating news that two hostages died in the Lindt Café last night. Like all Australians, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those now grieving. Read more
The substance of a sermon preached on Lord’s Day 23rd December 2002, in Kilskeery Free Presbyterian Church by Rev. Ivan Foster.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief, 1 Timothy 1:15.
This is a timely topic since we are surrounded by the many evidences of the world’s celebration of the birth of Christ. It has to be said that many people have expressed reservations about the nature of the celebrations and whether they really have any relationship to the coming into the world of the Son of God. I suppose you do not have to search very far to see the reasons for such concerns. That the police and the various authorities, linked with safety on the roads, should be required to make special appeals at this time of year to try and curtail people from drinking to excess in celebration of Christmas, does raise the question of whether such activity is in keeping with a marking of the birth of the Redeemer of men from sin. Very obviously, it is not. Read more
Good friends in Australia sent me a link to a video (watch it below) featuring Rick Warren pleading the cause of cooperation and unity with Popery.
As I watched the video I was carried back to the earlier days of Ecumenism when people like the late Dr Michael Ramsey, the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1961 until 1974, was one of the chief apostles of Unity with Rome. Rick Warren fills the shoes of Ramsey very well indeed. Indeed, this so-called “Evangelical Pastor” “out-Ramseys” Ramsey when it comes to promoting the cause of Rome.
He takes upon himself the task of defending Rome’s doctrines of Mariolatry and explaining away the differences that the Reformers highlighted and declared to be marks of a system of Antichrist.
The video, put out by the “Catholic News Service”, not surprisingly, has the Saddleback Church minister attempting to explain away Rome’s idolatrous system. He is clearly seen telling Protestants that they have it all wrong and then going on to claim that Rome and Protestantism hold the same views on the Trinity, the Bible, Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ and he even defends and seeks to justify the use of prayers to the Virgin Mary and the saints! How God makes saints: The pope’s way and God’s way compared.
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins,” Ephesians 2:1.
On Lord’s Day, November 23rd, 2014, the Pope, as arrogant as any that ever went before him, despite the media’s depiction of him as a ‘humble man’, took upon himself the power to ‘make’ some new saints!
These are the words he employed during the ‘ceremony’.
“We declare and define Blesseds Giovanni Antonio Farina; Kuriakose Elias Chavara of the Holy Family; Ludovico da Casoria; Nicola da Longobardi; Eufrasia Eluvathingal of the Sacred Heart and Amato Ronconi to be Saints and we enrol them among the Saints, decreeing that they are to be venerated as such by the whole Church.”
